I just saw a commercial for Sears. They are opening at 4 a.m. on Friday. Who, in their right mind, would get up to shop at this hour???
If I get up at 4 a.m., it's to go to the bathroom and then right back to bed.
I was just going to post the same thing. I heard a cashier at Target yesterday say that Old Navy was opening at 2 a.m. It's getting more & more ridiculous every year.I think I saw a ad saying that Old Navy was opening at 2 am

Totally agree with you. Unfortunately I'll be getting up at 4am to make it to work (in a department store) on time. I lucked out and get to go in an hour AFTER open this year
I really wish stores would open at normal hours. Customers need sleep, and it SHOWS. Last year we opened at 5 and by 5:30 a customer had all but attacked me, over a corporate coupon policy. Because you know that's a sales associate's fault

That doesn't necessarily gibe with most shoppers' work schedules. If a store normally opens at 10 but instead opens at 8 and the shopper needs to be in work at eight...Instead of opening at crazy hours on Black Friday, why don't stores open an hour or two earlier starting the week of Thanksgiving? I know lots of people who would be happy to shop at 8:00 am everyday, all week.
I too think it is ridiculous. I feel sorry for those sales associates who not only have to put up with some desperate, violent and slightly loony customers, but also have to start work in the middle of the night. Sleepy minimum-wage workers, plus angry customers, equals problems all around![]()
