Time to start planning the details of the trip my girlfriend (GF) and I will take to Orlando in late April. We're in our early 50s, and rides aren't the highest on our list any more. She got us a deal on an off-site resort so that door is closed, and while I last at WDW five years ago it's been 30+ for her. We both agree that two days at Universal Studios for Harry Potter are a must, and she is planning those days. This leaves us with 3+ days for Uncle Walt which I am planning. Below is a tentative, high-level schedule:
Day 0 - Saturday (April 25)
Arrive MCO at 7:30 p.m.
Staying at Four Points Sheraton near US for only one night
Dinner/Drink (or 3) at Universal CityWalk
Day 1 - Sunday (April 26)
Move luggage over to Las Palmeras Resort
Universal Studios Day 1
Day 2 - Monday (April 27)
8 a.m. - 10 a.m. - GF has to listen to a time-share sales pitch
10:30 - 2:30p - Hollywood Studios / Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge
3:30p - nap
5:00p - 8:45p - Hoop-Dee-Doo-Revue (including travel times)
8:45p - Once Upon A Time at Cinderella Castle
9:00p - 1:00a - Magic Kingdom
Day 3 - Tuesday (April 28)
Universal Studios day 2
Day 4 - Wednesday (April 29)
Animal Kingdom
Day 5 - Thursday (April 30)
wildcard
7:30 p.m. - leave hotel to catch 9:15 p.m. flight (we have Clear)
The Monday is more set-in-stone than the other days b/c of Disney After Hours, but the other days we're flexible (besides the Monday morning sales pitch). On the last day I can see going to Epcot for Test Track (never have done) and Soarin' (has this been updated in the last five years?), though if that's all we're going to do then those are some expensive rides. Also, the wake-up alarm on Tuesday morning is going to come quick. I would love to make that a light day and save Epcot for that day; however, that would push a visit to one the of the US parks or to Animal Kingdom to Thursday and a 6pm'ish "gotta go" alarm would suck too. Comments, por favor.
