We're coming from Louisville driving down I-75 mostly. We were planning on leaving in the evening on Sun Nov 28 and driving through the night. Now husband wants to leave in the morning and stop for the night about 4-5 hours north of Disneyworld.

Does any one know where this would put us? Any hotels just off the freeway that are about $50-80 a night in an area that isn't scary?

When we drive we usually stop in Valdosta, Georgia and stay at the Days Inn right off the I75. Not fancy but good enough for an overnighter.

I see there are 2 Days Inn in Valdosta. Are you talking about the one to the north off exit 22 or the one at exit 16 that has the free breakfast?

We've stopped in Valdosta or Tifton several times on our way to WDW. We come from southern Ky. It's about 3.5 hours (or maybe slightly less) from there to WDW.

Our last stay was at the Hilton Garden Inn at, I think, exit 18, on a street called Gornto Road I think. Very nice room, lobby, free internet, and fairly reasonable rates if you book and pay in advance.

We've booked there again for our upcoming trip. It's about 2 or 3 blocks off the interstate exit.

Also agree with Tifton, GA or Valdosta, GA. Something that cheap ... we've stayed for $60ish at the Ramada (I think) ... not as nice as the Hampton, but the Hampton Inn has gotten a bit pricy. Both of these places include breakfast, so I think that helps "defray" the cost of the room. LOL.

Tifton is usually our stop. Any of the Wyndham Rewards properties right around Exit 62 - 63 is where we usually stay.

All of the rooms have been fine.

We don't fool with their continental breakfast though. Nothing to write home about. We usually stop at McDonalds or BK for breakfast.

When we drive we usually stay in Valdosta (barring some sort of delay that might not allow us to get that far). The last time we stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. I don't remember the price...but the rooms were nice and they did have a free breakfast buffet.

Sorry, forgot about there was 2 but it's the one at exit 16. We get excited cause it's where we notice our first palm tree:laughing:
