I read on mousesavers that the 4/3 is a better deal because of the free gift card and the room is 43% off. Better than a pin code. It said you can get the 1 day base ticket. How does that work?

We have AP's and I am booked with the4/3 for June. I took 1 day tickets for each of us and will set them aside for AP renewals etc. for another time. We do not get the gift card since we are traveling past the gift card dates.

If an AP rate comes out that beats my total (including the 1 day ticket price) then I will switch> But even the AP pin code that just came out didn't include weekends, so I doubt we will get a better deal. For me the rate would need to $87 or less (pre-tax) per night at a value in June.

HTH!

Thanks for the reply. So we can get the 4/3 and only buy 1 day ticket for each person? Then keep the day ticket and use it to upgrade in Sept for our renewal on the AP's?

Sorry it gets so confusing after a bit trying to figure out the best deal.

This is better than the 40% room because of the gift card, correct?:confused3

For us it was definitely better! Last year I had already booked a 7-night reservation at Pop for the end of January 2009. I got the AP rate which was $385.91 for the 7 nights ($55.13 per night - a steal to begin with!). Then the 4/3 came out and we switched because we haven't bought our APs yet so we can apply the one day non-park hopper ticket that we had to buy per person to buying the AP when we go. The new price is $532.78. We get the $200 gift card which is then like we spent $332.78 AND we get $75 each (or whatever the going rate is for a 1-day ticket) towards our annual passes so it's like we're spending $182.78 for the 7 nights for our room. A little over $26 per night. If we had the time we would live there on this deal for a few months! :lmao:

In theory, yes. But I guess it would depend on how many people are in your party and where you are staying. For me it is 1A1C, so that adds $138 to my price (the cost of the 2 1 day passes), which is a lot since I am staying at a value resort.

Full price for my 7 nights at Pop is $825 (pre tax). I am paying $471 (pre tax) plus $138 for those tickets. That's a savings of $216. Add the free $200gift card and it would be like a $416 savings.

However, a 40% room discount, where I don't need to get the 1 day passes, would save me $330. Therefore the 4/3 with the gift card would be a better deal.

HTH!

Ok, last new twist. I need to buy DS a new AP and the cost is $211 plus tax.

It would myself and a child. I have a current AP. Can I take our 1 day park tickets and apply them to his AP?

Ok, you have been God sent do you know that? For the last bits, Can I keep mine and then use it for the upgrade in Sept? Not use it to go into the park?

Last time they let us use all 3 tickets towards 2 AP's

aw shucks! :cloud9:

You can keep yours and use it towards your renewal in September.

Ok, almost there. I don't need to use it once to go in correct or buy the no expiration date?

Not unless ticket prices go up between the time you book the deal and the time you redeem them.

We got our AP's in December 2008, but I booked the deal in January 2008, so the ticket prices had increased. We booked 8 day, nonexpiring park hoppers. So to get current gate price for those tickets we needed to use them once. We walked in, saw a few things and walked out and upgraded the same day.

I am honestly not sure how the using once part works if it is only a 1 day pass though...

Thank you so much. Now, I must tell myself that I need to save my money. I should not bring DS to Disney for his B-day. I am debt free and have the money. That makes this almost an irresistible offer.

Why do you think we are going?? :rotfl: We have AP's and I had more than enough SW credit to get us there...DH thinks we are nuts so he is skipping the fun!

wow...THAT is an amazing deal, and i am VERY jealous!!

I wanted to go for DS birthday in March but kept getting such high pricing. Then I looked at the season and saw it was Peak!:scared1: Other than holiday season we couldn't pay more.

Then I thought of a quick trip right now, early Feb but I am just not prepared for a trip. I talked with DH and he said that he will pay for a trip around Sept for my birthday and F&W. So we are going to wait and just pass on the deal for now.

Thanks again for the information! I appreciate your time to go step by step with me so I could understand.

OK...I had already made our reservations for Feb 19th-Feb 25th...There are three of us in my room...My husband, grandson(age 12) and me. I called an hour ago...telling the CM that I had an AP and asked if that would make a difference...(we are staying at Pop and have the Magic Your Way, regular dining package and park tickets) He told me I would just have to get a base ticket (non expiring) for myself...and because I was doing this after the 45 days, I would be charged $50 but I would be credited...around $569.00. I was surprised it would be that much and was extremely excited...but, now..I am wondering if there is some kind of mistake...I was emailed a new confirmation...Here is the first one:

02/19/2009 ADMISSION
7D MYW PH
1 PER PERSON [ 1, 2, 3 ]

Here is the new confirmation:

02/19/2009 ADMISSION
1D MYW
1 PER PERSON [ 1, 2, 3 ]

See the difference? Do you think the CM accidently put all three of us as having an AP? $500 is an awful lot of a difference, don't you think?

Since everyone on the reservation has to be on the same package, he gave all 3 of you one day base tickets. That is why the price difference is so big. If you are the only one who has an AP, you can upgrade the other 2 tickets when you check in back to 7 day tickets. You will lose the discount (3 free days), but I think it is only a few dollars per ticket.

So, actually, I should have left things alone? :confused3

I have extra tickets here...Should I just use them for my husband and grandson...? As well as the three base tickets (have to upgrade them to park hoppers)

I am surprised the CM didn't tell me that...

Well, if you had left it alone, you would have had a 7 day ticket with park hopping that it sounds like you wouldn't need because you have an AP. No sense in paying for a ticket you don't need, right? Although I guess you could have just saved it for a future trip... but I am all for not spending more money than I need to. I would keep the one day tickets on your ressie, then upgrade your DH's and grandsons to whatever they need (7 day plus park hopping) when you check in. Then you will still have a one day ticket to save for a later time.

Yes...You are right.... I was so excited about that $569.00....Now, I'll be paying out about that much, when I get there...won't I?
