Is this the best way to go? Or would it be better to go and check around for room discounts? ( No AP's or anyhing like that)
I keep reading how it's for two people so it may not be worth it for one. I've never been solo before so I'm not sure on the best way to go about this. Due to unusual circumstances I can go anytime between now and the second week in Feb. Any advice?
Thanks!

When they say based on double occupancy, it just means that the room itself costs the same for one or two people. It would cost more if there were more than two adults in the room. I booked the deal for a solo trip, with just one ticket, so it can be done.

I'm going March 4-11 thanks to the 4/3 deal. I signed up to run (okay...walk) the Princess 1/2 marathon, so this was a great deal for me. I was already having to pay for 4 days to make the trip worth it, so now I get 7 for the same price. (whohoo!) :cool1:

Mind you, I'm a little nervous as it is my first solo trip and I'm worried that it won't be any fun. Usually my hubby and I wander the parks together discussing all of the minute details and theming. Believe it or not, I'm a bit afraid that I'll be bored by myself with no one to chat to!!

At any rate, the trip is good for a solo person. Mine is around $981 (value, park hoppers). I'm going to add dining the week before I go so that I can at least indulge my passion for food. I figure I'll take in lots of character meals and make a game of getting pics with as many characters as I can. :)

Don't worry about being bored! You'll find that you do different things on your solo trips from what you do on the family trips. I spend more time relaxing, shopping, and soaking up the atmosphere than I do on the family trips. I spend more time enjoying the resort than I normally would, and I spend more time watching the live shows than I normally would when everyone is clamouring to go on rides. It's a much more laid back type of trip, and you may find yourself very spoiled once you've experienced it. I actually prefer to go solo now (much to the chagrin of my friends and family!) and sometimes have to go the extra mile to keep the trips a secret to keep them solo. As far as someone to talk to, the CM's are great at interacting with solos, and I find I meet some interesting people from all over the world in lines and in restaurants. I've had some very good conversations with people I'll never see again.

I'm glad that some of the promotions do work out well for singles, including this one.

I'm another solo'er who has taken advantage of the 4/3 deal and am staying at the BWI, it's a great deal and I can't wait :goodvibes

Thanks so much everyone for your responses. I plan on booking a hotel today.
I blew it with airfare though.
On Sunday, the airfare from Edmonton to Orlando was around 390.00 CDN. When I went to check yesterday it was back over 500.00.:scared1:
I know better and should have bought a ticktet then.:sad2:
Oh well. I'll still have a great trip to WDW:thumbsup2

I also don't think you'll be bored. I have gone a few times with just my kids and left DH at home, the first time when they were only 4 and 6. I have to say, those trips are sometimes way more fun! We just do what we want, not worrying about his needs, and when I get sick of "child" talk, I always seem to find nice cast members and other adults to chat with! We even ran into a classmate of my son's once, and went on a couple rides together with their family - that was a fun surprise. There are always other adults to chat with, and it is a freeing feeling to tour doing just what you want (or in my case just the kids and not DH). My kids and I always love to chat with cast members in Epcot about their homes too - learning about other countries. It seems they are almost always eager to share with you about their homes.

To compare, I've taken very large groups before, and I'd go alone before doing that again!
