Pouring rain here, too! Never fails when I get my hair cut, it rains! She did a fabu job and I really like it! Now, if I could only just style it the way she does........

Talked myself into a manicure for the cruise! Was going to do it myself but thought, what the heck.....last time I did acrylic but this time vitamins make my nails really long and strong - no need for tips! Yahoo! Save a bundle, too! Would love to get a pedi but still feel weird about someone touching my feet.....

Anyway, I feel like a kid with Christmas drawing near! How am I going to stand 5 more days til we leave?!?!?!?! Had a slight anxiety attack this morning but Ed took control and got me under control. Thank goodness....no idea what it was all about, guess just general excitement! Either that or sugar shock from the donuts he suprised us with this morning! Love them Boston Cremes!

Made a pork roast yesterday that I'm making leftovers into pulled pork sandwiches for lunch. Plenty left if you want to come! Might even make some fried 'taters, too!! There's a good ole' Southern lunch complete with all the calories and all the fat! God Bless You, Paula Deen!

Michelle, sorry, not burritos calling to me at night but POPCORN! Used to be chocolate but now it's the salty taste that gets to me! MMMMMMM........ think we'll be bringing some with us on the cruise - I think there's microwaves somewhere if I remember correctly....just need to remember where!!!

Okay, hubby's calling me for lunch......to make, not eat.

BCNU!

Is it nice anywhere today? Rainy and cold here too.

Suzie- Glad you like the haircut, got my done last week too, it is always nerve racking to get a haircut before a big trip when you know you'll be taking a ton of pictures>

Thanks Sue. Are you flying down out of Pittsburgh? My parents fly out from there Tuesday, my cousins fly out Thursday and my sister Friday evening.

The weather in Orlando next week is hot, hot, hot. 90 on Wed.

Nightmare- Had a horrible dream the other night. I have been tanning a little and I dreamed that I looked down at my legs and they looked like a burnt charcoal Hotdog. It was horrible!!

We have been sooo busy the past month but this weekend have abosolutely no plans. I like being busy, it makes the time go faster so right now I'm sorta moping around the house, packing a few more essentials, cleaning a little and bored to tears.

I'll being joining the teary eyed group, my husband just rolls his eyes. I made a little list to take with me of things not to forget and really big I wrote RELAX, RELAX, RElAX. I have to remind myself it is not my responsibility to make sure everyone is having a good time and that everything will not go just as planned and to just go with the flow.

Ditto to that!!!

I'll join the rest of the emotional girls. I'm definitely a weeper at the end of any trip. not sure if it's because I have to go home and face bills , tall grass needing to be mowed, laundry to be done, or simply because I will miss everything and everyone I met.

Oh , got myself a bad hair day hat today . I hate hats and look terrible in them but this one I can deal with, it's kinda cute.

Mketting , raining here to and about 50 degrees . We did my husbands last minute shopping , ties, shoes, sunglasses and of course I picked up more things, not that I needed to spend more money but I am such an impulsive shopper, I should be no where near a mall or store at any time :)

I saw the weather to for Florida and I'll take it any day over this weather .:cool1:

Suzie , it appears we will be the last ones at port and I'm hoping everyone will be in the Roses suite so no one is yelling down at us , oh please please, I am the type that will hide or act like I don't know you all! You may not believe this but I am really shy at first , more quiet then shy I should say , but get a few drinks in me and I'll be just fine. This may come as a surprise the way I chat here on the boards but I have always been this way, Barry is somewhat the same.

Well my friends daughter is here and they are dying to play the new Scooby Doo game on the computer, so ta ta for now!

Looks like we got the good weather today. Sunny and 75. :cool1:

The kids have had great weather for their Spring Break this week - they had a great time relaxing and playing outside most of the week.

Count me in to the Teary Eyed Emotional group. I am sure that I will fog up when I see the ship and when we leave the ship, but it really doesn't take anything that dramatic when Disney is involved. Just watching the kids - any kids(not just mine) - interacting with the characters or when you see that look of wonder in their eyes - get out the tissues.

Suzie - get the pedicure - you will love it! I am scheduled for a pedi and manicure Thursday evening. Most of you will already be in Florida and I'm jealous, but at least I can sit back, relax with a glass of wine and be pampered. It is a great way to kick off the vacation. Now if I just didn't have to work on Friday.

OHJulie :wave2:

OhJulie , Since you are in Ohio and we are in PA maybe we'll have better weather tomorrow. My 11 YO (Jonathan) has a ton of homework and baseball practice, but the 13 YO (Jimmy) is bored out of his mind - nothing to do after practicing his guitar. The one in elementary school has homework - the middle-schooler - NADA! I've also scheduled a manicure next week - only the second one I've ever had.

We packed our dinner clothes today - did laundry also - will pack the rest tomorrow. Not leaving until Friday - this week will drag on forever.

Anyone out there tonight? I am still bored here. We went out shopping for a little bit but I am back. Kirk isn't feeling well and fell asleep in the basement.

Yep, Sitting here at home bored. Really should be packing, but unmotivated right now. {Le Sigh}

You keep Kirk in the basment? Gee, I guess I should count my lucky stars we don't have one or I might be there too

I let him out if he asks really nicely! :rotfl: Actually, He was watching Star Wars Return of the Jedi with Jared down there. When he wakes up and looks out in the garage he isn't going to be to happy with me. My neighbor called (while he was sleeping)and asked if I wanted her daughters bedroom furniture, 2 beds a dresser and a nightstand. Well, I went over and they are very nice and she was just going to put them by the road so I took them. We can use them at our camp in the mountains down in PA or I may rearrange some things in kids bedrooms.

I actually even have all the laundry in the house done. The kids will be heading to bed in a few minutes and I am going to go finish the book I have been reading. I have everything packed that can be packed now.

Oh we still got a ways to go on packing. We did wash today and still doing. Just now went through all the SCUBA gear. Just found out 2 of computers are not powering on correctly. So I am hoping it is just a battery.

Anyhow, we sitting here watching Independence Day, the movie. Think we are going to stopping packing for the night. Otherwise, I will stress over the computers and such. I am worry wart.

Free Furniture is always good. There is always some that you can live with on a limited basis. Just like being in college. Back then cinder blocks and piece of plywood worked fine. Now, it s Cherry Oak and such.

OK - two things:

You want to feel real stress, try what BrotherlyLoveJennifer and I are doing this weekend - planning and hosting birthday parties . I baked for 6 hours straight, made 3 jelly rolls, two cakes, and made it all into a fabulous castle cake for my son. I still need to do goodie bags, pack the food and do the party tomorrow. No packing for us yet.

Then you want to feel chills (the Belle & Rella family have already been there done that) but my sister called me from the port and had me listen to the horn and told me about the party andthe dumoron that they could see. So they sent off today's Magic. I actually teared up and got chills.

I chopped my hair off today - still need to get a manicure - need to finish the work that I was too distracted to do on Friday while I was being paid to do it - and need to figure out what I forgot to pack or put on the list to be packed.

Michelle - thanks, that was the deal I was tapped into. BY the way, got you mail. Thanks.

April - YOU RAWK! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

TTFN! It's sooooo close!

Hi -- Well, as much as I know and love Disney I have never done a message board successfully before. I tried another once and I didn't do well but I thought I'd try again. Hopefully I won't get lost :confused3

My sister and I are going on the April 29 eastern caribbean cruise. I am in my 50's and she is in her 60's and this is my second Disney cruise and her first. My husband and I did a 4 night one in the fall and I loved it but he wasn't so sure. So sis and I are giving it a try to celebrate our birthdays which are this week. We'd love to say hi to others on the cruise, especially any other people near our age (but young at heart) or other women travelling together.

Before I write more I'll wait and see if I get replies and can do this (I"m not the most computer litereate person). I'm getting so excited about this trip. I live in Pennsylvania and the weather is awful today so I just keep thinking about sunshine and islands :cheer2:

Welcome, Tiggersister2! Glad to have you aboard! Where in PA do you live? My DH is from Central PA....beautiful mountains and close to PENN STATE!!! Awesome of you and your sis to celebrate with the cruise!

CG and PJ, I feel for you guys. Do try to remember it's all fun for the kids....doesn't matter if things are exactly perfect, they'll still love you for it! Have great parties and tell us all later....much later....

Snoops, love that movie! One of my favorites to watch, although I feel that I have to watch Air Force One and Dave along with it...you know, the Presidential theming.....

Michelle, free furniture is always acceptable! Even if you can't use it, someone you know will!

OhJulie, do you feel weird with someone touching your feet with a pedi? I don't know why this is such an issue, guess it's the stranger factor....I don't think I'd have a problem if it was someone I knew.....maybe I'll try it.

Ohso - I'm sure we won't have the shy problem once we all meet. Feel like I've known you guys forever! Was the same with meeting Trish! Felt like we'd been friends forever! Amazing, isn't it?

We went to friends house for dinner. Yummy adobo chicken, great spinach and pear salad (yum!) and homemade potato salad that is to die for! Then she pulled out chocolate strawberries and homemade cheesecake! No strawberries left and only one little slice of cheesecake left! There were 9 of us all together, so we made a huge dent in everything! SOOO GOOOD!!!! But now I feel like the stuffed bear who could sleep all winter. Night all!

You win CG. !!!!! Hope the party turns out well.

Thanks for the welcome, suziemva....I am from Exton, PA which is outside of Phila. My daughter went to Penn State so I know that area.

Welcome tiggersister2! Glad you joined us! My mom and I are going together she is in her 50's but i'm still in my 20s this is our first cruise ever and so excited!

CG--that cake sounds yummy but hope it goes well today

Suzie--all that food sounds yummy too (can you tell i'm hungry its to early to eat yet)

Snoopyto--we are still getting together on Friday correct?? I don't know the area so any suggestions as to where to go possibly.

I had my bags half packed but i have to undo all that and start again way too much stuff! My life is getting so hectic but I am trying to slow down a bit that way i don't over do it before the cruise!

My manager gave me Tuesday off so only today and tomorrow for work! So i'll be able to pack on Tuesday, i have my pedicure on Wednesday, and one last dr. appt on thursday.

Friday we leave for the aiport and Saturday we set sail! I can't wait!

Hi, everyone. I'm de-lurking again now that the Easter 10-service marathon is over. Glorious it was, but I'm ready for a cruise! 5 days to departure . . .

It sounds like everyone is pretty swamped getting ready. I have a theory that the craziness of this week will make time fly. My partner, on the other hand, is glaring at me and pulling his hair out over his To Do list. Well, that makes on less trip to the barber. . . .

The one thing I've ignored - Pirate Night. Can I get a quick primer? I can't remember if it's Tuesday or Wednesday. If it's Tuesday, we're at Palo. The real fun is at 9 or so, right? Gotta think how to dress .. . .

Cheers!
Dirk

Good morning-

Grumpy - I have the same packing issues - I keep putting things in and taking them out - who knows what I will actually end up with when I get there.

LisaD - I know what your saying about the week dragging - I feel like I don't want to do anything but GO already!

Hope you do get our nice weather from yesterday.

MK - Is Kirk feeling better?

CG - How was the party? Do you have any time to relax today? I know I was not very productive at work on Friday - really need to do better this week so I can leave with a semi-clear desk.

Welcome Tiggersister2 - It is awesome that you are travling with your sister - I am sure that you will have an amazing time!

Suzie - I am a big fan of pedicures. I do not have them very often, but when I do I can really tell the difference. My toesies look so much better when she does them - my DH even notices! My sister has the same problem with someone touching her toes and she won't do it - but I think that once you try it, it won't bother you. The first thing that they do is have you put your feet in a big tub of warm, bubbling, soapy water - so they do not even touch your feet before they have had a nice soak.

OHJulie

Morning Dirk - Glad to have you back on the thread! Pirate night is Tuesday evening and I believe that the party on deck begins around 9:30. I picked up some pirate jewelry and a fake parrot at a costume store. My daughter will be in full costume, but the rest of us will just have a few fun accessories.

OHJulie :wave2:
