So sad about the death on Mission Space. I heard on the radio that they have closed the ride. We love that ride - or I should say the kids and I love it. Once was enough for my DH - he did not feel good all day after that one.

So I was on line at 7:00 this morning to book our Halloween Campout. It is crazy, but this is such a popular event that you have to book 6 months in advance. We go to a State Park - Mohican - every year for this special campout in October. They have Trick-or-treating, costume parades and many people decorate their campsites; some are very elaborate.

CG - Have you registered on-line? I noticed that we received our paperwork 5 days after I completed the on-line paperwork. The note inside said "thanks for completing on-line registration", and the packet did not include duplicates of the paperwork that was done already. So it may be that the mailing was triggered by on-line registration. Just a thought.

I don't think that the documents are coming through the TA's anymore. We booked through a TA and when we made the final payment she said that the doc's come straight from Disney now - and ours did.

I filled my documents out online and will print the signature form and have it with me. My TA is out of Pittsburgh and was soooooooo slow in responding and getting things done for me. I won't use a TA again.

receive doc's UPS monday. Looked them over, on-line registered, kids are packed. All I have to do now is pack our suitcase. Still working on DisDoor sign. Im totaly going overboard, I guess that's the scrapbooker in me. DH out of town, I will have him help with posting on Yahoo. I so not computer savie. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :surfweb:

ulittletinker , don't be afraid of trying to use the Yahoo site - it is so easy, if I can do it, anybody can.

That really is sad about another death at Disney. I remember the first death on Mission Space because the little boy lived not far from here. We've always ridden that ride with no problem - unlike some of the simulator rides as Universal.

P.S. I hope everyone receives their docs today!

Okay everyone, I know that we have been there, done that, talked about it, written about it, laughed about it, cried about it, joked about it, debated it, written term papers about it, beaten it to death, blah, blah, blah, but I just can't seem to remember (and I don't want to go back 100 pages to get my answer)...Who is dressing up for Pirate Night (adults & kids)??? And if you (or your kids) are dressing up, what are you wearing??? All of the sun and beer last week must have really done a number on my old lady brain cells, because the only "costume" I can seem to remember is Trish's "wench outfit"!!! We (our party group) are thinking about ordering the girls Pirate costumes (LLL's DS - the only boy amongst our 8 kids already has one from Halloween last year so he is all set) and need to get it done ASAP...don't want to pay an extra fifty bucks to get them over-nighted! I know, I know, we should have done this months ago, but the time just slipped away from us...

My mom and I are wearing shirts that are stripped and one is red and one is black in color. Nothing real themed but still Piratey.

Tori will be Tinkerbell....think Peter Pan/Captain Hook/Tinkerbell/Pirate Night. This was my complete thought process about her dressing up like that. She does have the Mickey Ears Pirate headband that we will be bringing, so depends on her attitude which one she will wear....could be neither, also!!

Gosh, the only dress up I can remember is Trish's also only because she met me at the airport dressed like that, beer in hand, banana hammock sign in the other...just so I'd know who she was!! :lmao: I'll let her tell that story!

April, the cd's in the mail. Should have it by Tuesday. That's what the postal lady told me.

Just saw this on the Port Canaveral webcam!!

I know it's the Wonder but still a thrill just the same! Soon, people, soon....

OK - I want a roll call - Check in with a wave  or a shout out if you have NOT gotten your docs yet.

 ME! THAT WOULD BE ME!!!!!!

What is going on??????
OK - delurking now to joing CG's wave. My travel agent is apparently handling 3 of us on the cruise. She emailed us today to say that DCL claims to have mailed the docs yesterday by priority mail, so she hopes to get them to us mid to late next week. A couple of days ago, she found out that DCL printed them last week sometime. Boy, they're slow moving from the printer to the envelope. I want them now! :yay:

Anyway, I registered online about 3 weeks ago, so I don't think that has anything to do with speeding up or slowing down. It also sounds like she's expecting them to be mailed to her and then she'll forward them to us.

I guess patience is a virtue in Holy Week. :guilty: Shalom for Pesach to any Jewish members of the thread!

Are you serious???

Dirk - Good Maundy Thursday to you! Now if that's not a contrary term, I don't know one.

OK - so I will add a question to this - did the UPS come from your TA or from Disney themselves?

Julie, yeah, I think she's serious.

Are you and I sisters? I was just at TJ Maxx looking for my costume. Why there you ask - well, I will spill the beans here as I wanted it to be a surprise but up to now I have been unable to execute the plan. I want to dress up like Wendy Darling in her little empie cut nightgown and I havethe bow for my hair and the teddy bear in hand. I am at a loss as to where to find the nightgown. I have been looking now for about a year. So I am just as behind as you are. It's like we are the people who had the longest to plan, but yet, alas, here we are 16 days out and still stuff to do.

I will be the only one to dress up if I find this. I have tropical stuff for everyone else - well, beside Trina who we will have to figure something out for.

We won't be dressing up for Pirate night, and you have no idea how hard that is for me to say. I used to have a costume design business. I love to create costumes, but just haven't had time. Building a house leaves you with little time to breathe, let alone sew. I'm going through withdrawl because I haven't sewn anything since we moved last Aug. I haven't even seen my sewing machines since then. I was still optimistic that I could make the three of us gowns for formal night. We leave in 7 days, do you think it's going to happen? :confused3 Don't even know where to buy anything like that around here. I might have to get some of you to smuggle me out some lobster tails because I won't be let in with what I'm wearing! :)

I have been designing costumes in my head for some time now, and Len is such a good sport when it comes to my costumes. If only I had just a few more hours in the day. When we all rebook, I'll be prepared then. :rotfl2: Of course I'll probably have to sell a child or two to be able to afford another cruise! :rotfl:

It's too bad you've had a bad experience with this TA. They are suppose to go that extra bit to make things special for you. I wouldn't wash your hands of all TAs, just find one you like. And after you come back from vacation, be sure to email her and explain why you aren't satisfied.

I will definately she isn't happy with me right now either as I hadn't gotten my refund for the transfers i had cancelled weeks ago and told her that I would be contacting Disney myself since she hadn't bothered to look into it. She claims that I never emailed her the request to cancel but i have the originial email, the read receipt that shows she read it. She asked if she could book the rental car or hotel for before the cruise for me and I told her I would not be using her services for that. She wasn't happy on losing out on the comission but frankly with only 16 days to go I wasn't going to wait for her to decide when to book it.

I will wait until i get back and write a letter just letting her know what i didn't like about the service and explaining why i won't use her again. Not mean just politely firm.

I also am one who likes to have control over things so if something is wrong I know its my fault, I know who to contact, and can take care of it on my time.

But this isn't bothering me or ruining my vacation though so Hakuna Matata 16 more days!

Hey for my fellow procrastinators, I just found a good source for costumes - better ones than I have seen previously - BUT, I have no idea how secure or reliable this site is

http://www.clicket.com/costume/halloweencostumes/econpirate.html

that's the link for the pirate stuff, but I want HGP and PJ to check this one out - I think this is a must have for our Martini party! If yu can't tell it's supposed to be Martini girl! :lmao:

and then of course for the men, this is a must have:

Someone stop me - this site is FUN!!! If you do go, check out the gag costumes - I think this may just become your Halloween Headquarters Tom & Julie.

No dresseruppers here ( pirate night that is ). I just don't have the space in the luggage. My daughter really wants to but.....

Just stopping by quick, and gotta go.

I thinks I was just dissed for the first time on the DIS!!! ( No TOM, I didn't include you in that statement :thumbsup2 )

Ok, not funny.....You don't need their permission to carry emergency supplies, you don't need to divulge medical information unless, ok, they get a pass on this one, you are applying for an accessible stateroom. If the child is old enough to recognize the symptoms of an impending health problem, they can let the CMs in the club know and have you, the parents, paged or, if it turns nasty, you AND the infirmary...
What you are doing, in effect, when you share medical info like that is also sharing the decision-making over whether your child is too much of a risk to be separated from you during the cruise....
If the problem is an occasional thing with no dangerous escalation, just do what you usually do...I'm assuming you don't notify the grocery store manager where you shop that there is a "health thing" with your child...

What do you all think? I know I'm blonde, but??? Too Funny.
Could of been worse! :rolleyes2
