My father invested in Cocoa Beach during the hey days of NASA so we came down about twice a year, if not more - as a kid I would always get one trip to WDW a year. We never stayed on site (except once in the campground), though, so that has been a new treat for me as an adult. Plus, I never got to go for more than a day or so, so again, a new treat as an adult.

Hey, has anyone noticed the new WDW ads on TV - they use the term "castlegazer". I was blown away. I have had this screen name for so long now and been to many DIS meets where everyone calls you by your screenname that it was like hearing my own name called out. It says, "for all you castlegazers out there". HOLY COW! I know Disney reads the boards, but that is just weird.

ohsodisney- we live in Rochester it is actually a beautiful sunny day today, windy of course but sunny. My In-laws live close to Syracuse in Auburn.

My husband can't wait to go to Universal again, we too were there pre-kids so it has been about 9 years since our last visit. With the deal they are running now (Buy and adult 2 day get a childs 2 day free and 2 more day free) we can get 4/4 day passes for just $5.00 more than 4 /1 day passes. We were only planning one day at US and no time at IOA but now we can park hop on our first day if we want or simply go back on a second day for a few hours to IOA. I don't want to do 2 full days at the parks and then have the kids pooped the first day of the cruise.

Anybody stay at the Buena Vista Suites? We can stay there and get a two room suite, 2 queens in bedroom + living room with a kitchenet and full breakfast buffet for $88/night.

I got my sister and BIL season tickets to Universal last year for $99 - $99!!!!!!!!!!

I was so jealous! But They were down there living for part of the year and could go all the time - whenever the whim struck them they went over and hung out. Now that is cool!

I have never stayed there, so I can't help you.

Anybody ever redo one small thing in your house and have it turn it to a huge project?

We decided to put wood laminate down in our family room since it is such a traffic area. Well, as we were putting it in we decided we just didn't like the walls and should redo those, and if we redid those to a color we like better than we really need to repaint the Powder room, and if we were going to repaint it then we should go ahead and put the new flooring in there too and if we were going to to that then we should replace the vanity with a new pedestal sink and, and, and..... Well to say the least our quick weekend project had now turned into a month long makeover of an entire part of the house leaving the rest of the house a disaster because it is filled with all the furniture from the family room. My husband has grand ideas of finishing it all this weekend!!??!!

Hi Mketting

Thats funny . we did a 1000 sqf addition over the garage . Well needless to say each of my girls have 15x24 sqf rooms each , thats bigger then ours LOL . Well we didn't stop there I decided that I didn't like the laundry room on the first floor so we added a laundry room . Then we decided not to do carpets we went ahead and put in ourselves Bellawood hardwoods , that took DH and friends days tp put in . this started off originally being an addition for the girls . Their old bedroom turned into a playroom upstairs WOOHOO ! thats the best thing we ever did :) We are done with projects for now , we did do our countertops , they are Corian and I hate them !!!

Rochester isn't too far from me at all . Did you do the Halloween weekend at Six Flags ? I really wanted to but the weather has been terrible . Maybe next year . I am going to take the girls there in the summer , we went to the Lake George six Flags this year and they loved it .

We got to go to Six flags 3 times this Summer so we skipped in this fall.

The remodeling is not going well today, the wall liner just isn't cooperating so to say the leat we won't be all finished or even close anytime soon. Remodeling on your own is a good test for how strong your marriage is!!!

I won't stand for page 2, well I am at work and it is tough, because 11 days until Disney World

157 days until Vero Beach

187 until WE CRUISE!!!

I just can't concentrate.

How about a QOTD:

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him???

Tom pirate:

Woo Hoo - QOTD!!!!!

My husband and I tore out everything in our basement this weekend and put it outside for a junk removal company to come get - Our neighbors are getting a good view right now.

Yup, doing home renovations is true test! Its sounds cool what you are doing, though, and well worth it. I would not have been able to stop either.

We will be doing this next year as we are going to add on downstairs to give us a master bedroom suite. We have a very small Cape in the city proper, but we have some land to be able to expand into. I can't afford to move with the average house price being $500,000 in this area. Now, both my DH and I work at very good paying jobs - how do average people afford that amount for a house? We bought long before house prices went through the roof here in eastern MA and I bought my house as a stater home thinking I would be out of it in three years. NOPE. NO way in hell are we moving. We have great equity, though. So, I live in my starter home, thank God every month for my mortgage bill - which is less than my day care bills, by the way - and suffer with small house syndrome.

Oooooh, I feel your pain! We had to do some renovations earlier this year! What a mess! Our housing prices are through the roof here, too! I can't believe a house down the street sold for $485,000! It's only 1400 sq ft, 2 level, no garage, carport, nothing and 1/4 acre lot! We could never afford to move in this area now, either. I don't work anymore (SAHM) so we only have DH's income which is sufficient for us and our mortgage (lived here nine years, our first house also).

I guess I'll get on the Disney countdown too!!

4 days to Disney!!!
187 days until DCL!!

Its sick, sick, sick - and yeah, your housing prices are worse than ours I think.

I am just dreaming of those Pina Coladas out by the pool and the Rainforest room - my new obsession. :drinking:

Goodmorning everyone! Reporting here from Hurricane Wilma who has decided thta its cool to party together with one of the worst Nor'Easters in history - had this been just a few weeks later and we would be under about 6 feet of snow. Instead we are getting 3" of rain, 65 mph winds, and basically crap, crap, crap. We are going to get snow tonight!!!!!! But should be just a inch or two.

Man, I just got through telling my son that we are free and clear of Hurricane territory after Katrina and look, we have now gotten hit by two.

OK - the storm hustled on out of here - we got some flakes of snow last night but no accumulation.

We didn't lose power at our house. I pulled some huge branches off our roof, but no damage.

So, does anyone know how to do Disney Dollars for credit or post credit to your rooms? - we are asking for this for Christmas.

Football FINALLY makes sense.........

A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great
seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she
liked the experience.

"Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all
the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each
other over 25 cents."

Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?"

Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the
game, all they kept screaming was: "Get the quarterback! Get the
quarterback!"I'm like Helloooooo?

It's only 25 cents!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

This year has really been something for weather events. Glad to hear you didn't have to much damage castlegazer.

I am really jealous of those of you going on vacation soon! We're spending the night in Batavia next Friday, :confused3 : I somehow forgot the date of my children's Halloween Party at school this past Saturday, I remembered Sun night. They were so crushed that I said we would do something special instead. So next week we will drive 25 min to a town right off Inter State 90 spend the night in a hotel with a hot tub and pool, order pizza and watch movies together. Its not WDW but will be a fun night out.

Ohsodisney, I'll have you know I'm blond and my Fantasy Football team Rocks!! :cool1: Actually, I just got lucky with my draft, my husband's office needed an extra person for their league and I got talked into participating. My DH is glad though because normally I could care less about football but since I have this fantasy team I'm all into the games now watching how my players are doing.

Suzy,

Only 1 more day to go before you leave, make sure that you leave us some wine at the food and wine festival. We are down to 8 days, and cannot wait. Suzy, I've got your number (isn't that a song by someone) so either give us a call next Saturday or we will call you to set up a meet.

MKetting,

Some of our best trips are overnight to a hotel with a pool, since I travel quite a bit on business, I take the family every chance I get. It is much better to have them with me, than to walk into a resturant and ask for a table for one.

Since all of you ladies are so football savy, give me some sleepers that I can pick up. I had to add Chris Simms this week because my QB is on a bye week and there is nothing available. My team is terrible and I have a tough time believing it is the coach, even though that is what my friends are telling me.

Alright the last is a QOTD:

If a man is talking in the forest and there isn't a woman there to hear him, is he still wrong???

Tom pirate:

Will do! I've got your cell number (too! I know, I know, not a song....) and DH knows that we are to call you on Saturday. We will be at EPCOT that day stalking Paula Deen! Can't believe I'm going to (try) to meet her! I just love her show! So, we should be real close to where you guys are staying, right? So a hop, skip and a small boat ride and we'll get together! Have a safe trip!

So excited but having packing issues, like I haven't even started!! Geez, I'm normally done two days ago except for last minute stuff. Today will be crunch day though! Ugh, I always forget at least one thing and that's when I'm good at packing. Can't wait to see what I forget this trip! On our cruise it was gel and hairspray. Two things a woman can NOT forget. Now that was ugly hair week - not that it's pretty really. (Tom, you can skip this part. It's a GIRL thing.) So, this should be interesting. Hm, did I pack deodorant?????? heehee....

So, will be off the boards probably from tonight until the 7th. Have fun, wear your seatbelt, and happy surfing everyone!!!

MY QOTD: Dole Whip or Mickey Bar?????????? Do I have to choose?????? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Hey Mketting

I also do a football board every week . My friend Greg was being a wise guy and sent me that joke becuase the night we were playing cards they kept asking what the score was for the Miami game . I had a little bit of a hard time relaying , first of all a few too many drinks and secondly it was off the internet which shows where they are on the feild and it only moves every few minutes or so it seems :)

Hi BellaandRellasDad

I wish I knew more about football :confused3 but umfortunatley I fell from 3rd place to 6th this week . Maybe I'll take some picks from you !

We all have the worst cold ever . It has been 3 days now and we can't seem to kick it . So far DH has been spared . I'm kinda glad it is now and not 4 weeks from now .

HAVE A BLAST SUZIE AND FAMILY!!!!! YOU TOO MY ARCH-NEMESIS of COOL TRAVEL!
