Suzie, you are such a wonderful person!! :cheer2:  Ben got his card today and was so thrilled to get mail. It was an added bonus to see the US stamps and brag that he got mail all the way from the States. Thank you so much for thinking about him.

To solve the sizing issue, take your son to a tux shop and have him try on a couple. before buying on ebay. good luck.

Speaking of Tux I have a Question for all . How many DH's are wearing a tux, or just a nice suite. Im trying to decide rent a tux , or buy a new suit.

Tux issue resolved- My cousin is going to buy the tux off of me for her son Yeah! I am going to order another one from a different seller. I realized I measured Jared's old jeans to get the pants length and so that was why I was off by one size.

QOTD
I cannot think of anything that interesting about myself at the moment but here is something that always makes other woman cringe. I was induced to deliver my son Jared on his due date ( his sister was 2 weeks late), the doctors thought he was going to be about 8 pounds. He actually weighed 11pounds and I did not have a Csection. He looked like the Jolly Green Giant in the nursery with all the little, or should I say normal sized babies.

CG- I forgot to tell you that last week on the front page of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle was a picture of a woman from the area that had won one of the keys to the HGTV house.

First , thank you Stevemed , my nephew is doing well , probably has quite a headache thou!

QOTD , I can't think of anything to interesting about myself . I am adopted as with my sister , we have the most wonderful parents and that's seems pretty interesting in and of itself. I use to train horse for a few years and it was a strong passion of mine but DH is really not interested right now in getting any till the girls are older. I did get married in Alaska to my DH in 2000 on the glacier. I really can't think of anything else, I'm sorry. Now DH on the other hand may have better stories for you!

Gotta run , I'm missing lost oh, no!

The Pirate will probably be in a kilt.

And here's the answer to the question I know you're asking: "That's for a Scotsman to know, and no one else" pirate: Although he might on this trip. After all it's a family cruise and there there may be quite a breeze at sea.

As for me, I'll be the wench wearing the shiny shoes so I can peek. I've always wanted one of those long-handled mirrors that they use at the borders to check under cars :)

Since the Queen is not up yet I thought I would have you all wake up with a little something, something.

Baileys Coffee

40-60 ml Bailey's
hot coffee
loosely whipped cream

Build in a coffee glas or wine glass with extra thick walls.
Put a spoon in the glass and first add Bailey's, then coffee and last loosely whipped or shaken cream.

Have a great day and good morning to all, 6 days until Spring Break.

Anyone up for Vegas a week before the Cruise?

Just found out that I have to go to Mandalay Bay for a convention from April 18th until the 20th, the Queen is not digging it. The funniest part of it is that I really don't like Vegas and the Queen can't get enough of it, the time change just kills me.

Well off to start the day have a good one, and lets start this day out right.

Good morning all. The temp is -26 C (-15 F) but the sun is so bright and the sky is the most beautiful bright blue that you just have to be happy. :sunny: The sun really reflects off the snow and the whole house is lit up. I have the feeling that I will finally find the last of the missing papers today and get my income tax done. It's just that kind of day. I don't know how it works down there, but you know how Canada is so well known for their taxes. Well the GST (goods & services tax) among others has got me. I have to keep track of all GST paid out all year, and wether it is just for the business, or used for something that in turn is sold again. I can only claim the last one. Sounds easy enough, but I haven't been keeping track. We've kind of had a mixed up horrible year. Add to that, we now have 160 acres (another long story for another time), so we are considered a farm and therefore have two GST numbers. Now to keep track of what goes where. I was hoping to have everything done and the money back before we left, but that just ain't happenin' now. I need one of those drinks that are posted, but I won't let myself until I get this done.

:faint: :scared: OMG! And we all run off to Canada to escape the US - silly us! We sat down with our accountant, were missing most of our papers but had the important stuff like how much we were paid, mortgage interest and the like, and basically..........well, let's not put it into writing. Let's just say the whole process was pretty breezy easy this year and we are getting a substantial return. :cool1:

Goodmorning everyone.

OMG , did anyone hear about the excursion off the Celebrity cruise ship? Here it is .
Authorities say all victims American; survivors in critical condition
Tour bus crashes, kills 12 American tourists (1:30)

FAMILY INFORMATION

Celebrity Cruises has set up two toll-free numbers for family members of cruise passengers:

Inside North America: 1-888-829-4050

Outside North America: 305-539-4050 (call collect)

SANTIAGO, Chile (CNN) -- A bus carrying tourists on a side trip through the mountains of northern Chile plunged into a canyon Wednesday, killing 12 people, all of them American, authorities said.

The bus was carrying 16 tourists from a Miami, Florida-based cruise ship, most of whom are believed to be American. Arica Mayor Patricia Perez announced the death toll, but local police said they would not confirm it until families had been notified.

John Vance, press attache to the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, confirmed that all of those killed were Americans.

Of those who survived the crash, some were in critical condition, said Maj. Carlos Valcarce, an Arica police spokesman. (Watch the scene of the deadly crash -- :48)

Two Americans and two Chileans survived the crash, Perez said.

The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET). The tourists were among about 1,600 passengers from the Celebrity Cruises liner Millennium, which was docked in Arica as part of a two-week cruise that was slated to arrive back in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 2.

The bus was returning to the ship from a national park near the Bolivian border when it swerved off the highway and into a 260-foot canyon, Valcarce said. Survivors were transported to Dr. Juan Noe Regional Hospital in Arica, 2,000 kilometers (1,250 miles) north of Santiago. (Map)

The ship was carrying about 1,536 guests and 920 crew members, the cruise line said. It will remain in Arica until further notice.

The passengers were on an independent excursion not affiliated with Celebrity Cruise, the company said in a statement. A doctor and nurse were sent from the ship to help tend to the injured, and the cruise company is working closely with police to determine the cause of the wreck, it said.

I'm already depressed this morning, thanks for the added piece of news. :guilty:

Yes, tuxes for Quinn and Paul - I need to look into renting one for Paul.

My guys won't be wearing tuxes. The only time I got Leonard into a tux was our wedding and that was 19 years ago. I'm hoping to find a jacket for him, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money because he won't ever wear it again. He's an electrician and usually doesn't wear anything but jeans. I did find a nice shirt & vest for Ben, so that with dress pants will be as dressy as we get. I found some really nice Disney ties, so I'm going to make one down to fit Ben.

With everything else going on, I'm still planning on making dresses for the girls, but we'll see how the time goes. I haven't been able to sew for 6 months and I'm going through withdrawl! My poor kids had to find costumes in their regular clothes for spirit week this week. I'm probably more disappointed than they are. I have tons of costumes, but we couldn't find the right boxes that have them. Next year we will be more prepared.

Do most of you have early seating or late? I realise with younger kids you would want the early, but I think I'm going to change mine to late. That way I don't have to rush back to the ship for supper. Anybody else have late seating?

Hi BLBCB , We have late but really really want early , but there was nothing left. the one good thing like you said about late is you can take your time getting back to the ship , but there is also the early show.

CG , why so depressed today? Is it the tux?

Someone was talking about a cruise in 2008? I think we are going to do a 4 day with our friends in "08" , they have never been one one and would love to try it but don't really want to do 7 yet. They have a time share so we will probably stay with them for a week then do the cruise , it really depends on the money factor thou.

TELL US ONE OFF-BEAT INTERESTING THING ABOUT YOURSELF.

Sorry I missed yesterday....so here's something about myself......I'm a tomboy and a daredevil. Hate to miss out on the small thrills in life. I bungee jumped off a 100 foot bridge over a dry creek bed. I have to say I was a screaming mimi tho :scared1: I was a flower child back in the day....grew up in the 60's with the SF influence :hippie: Its a good thing I grew up..... :scratchin

What is with the cruise news today! Here's another story that just came across!!

Fire Breaks Out on Cruise Ship; One Dead
By Associated Press

MIAMI - Fire broke out on a cruise ship in the Caribbean early Thursday, killing one person and injuring 11 others before the crew extinguished the flames, company officials said.

The Star Princess was en route from Grand Cayman to Jamaica when the blaze started in a cabin, according to a statement from Princess Cruises, which is owned by Miami-based Carnival Corp.

Carnival Corp. Chief Financial Officer Gerald Cahill confirmed the fatality and injuries during a conference call. He said at least two of the injured were suffering from smoke inhalation.

In Jamaica, emergency officials said late Thursday morning that the ship was coming into a port there with several people injured and one person dead on board.

The fire had started in a cabin and spread to other cabins nearby, Princess Cruises said in the statement. The statement said the fire had been put out and officials were trying to account for all the passengers.

The ship is carrying 2,690 passengers and 1,123 crew members.

A Princess Cruises official had no further comment when reached by phone. According to the statement, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Star Princess sailed from Fort Lauderdale on March 19.

No, certainly not - in fact Quinn now has a Mickey Mouse bow tie too to go with it. He's going to look smashing. Look out all you adorable little 4-5 yo Princesses, my Prince awaits (with hopefully an attitudinal adjustment prior to the dinner). My husband always looks amazing in tuxes.

No, it's been a lousy morning. Quinn is truly testing my abilities as a parent, I got in late to work because of talking to his teachers about it, walked right into our head of HR as I was doing it, then my boss came to my door as I was unlocking it so no hiding the fact that I was LATE, LATE, LATE. Plus I need to get my head out of that and read a horrific lease today and negotiate with one of the largest real estate developers in NYC (well, actually the country) over it and be the biggest ******* on the planet so I can out ******* them, then I need to figure out something to eat for lunch because I was late and didn't pack anything, then I need to be depressed about not getting to the gym again today...........what else you want??? I can load it on today like there is no tomorrow! :guilty:

How about that we are now at #3000 post on this thread :cool1:  :cheer2:

We must all be getting along great already or we wouldn't have so much to talk about. Plus you can always vent here and it feels better. We're all hear to listen.
