4/26/09 4 day Wonder

Your skills are looking good. The Halloween costume is cute. I don't know about the Pirate night, however I have a friend who does Disney cruises. I will ask her--of course whe doesn't have kids. I have not worked on my fish extender either. It is on the to do list. I have been looking into hotels in the Port Canaveral area. We want to get there a day ahead and stay overnight before the cruise. Any suggestions? I noticed on your signature you stayed at the Wilderness lodge? When my kids were at home we would go to Disney and camp at Camp Wilderness I beleive. It was really nice and convenient for all the kids. Have a good day!

Thanks for the compliment on the dresses!

As far as Hotels in the Port Canaveral area, the Passporters book had several recommendations, but the Radisson looked nice and it is closest to the terminal. I think they quote the price around $130/night. They offer a shuttle to port which would save you a parking fee at port. I think we are going to get up early with hopes to be at the terminal for 10 am. I believe it is a hour drive from the WDW area.

Yes, we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. While I thought it was a lovely resort, I will not be staying there again. For a deluxe resort, I thought the moderates were just as nice and it is half the price for a moderate. I believe you stayed at Fort Wilderness is right next to the Wilderness Lodge. I am a camper, but I would never drive to WDW so I have never stayed at Fort Wilderness, but I hear it is the nicest campground in America. Maybe some day I will stay there. Heck I never thought I would book Disney cruise and I did that.

Yes you're right --it was Fort Wilderness. It is a beautiful campground with excellent facilities. You just park your car set up camp and never have to use the car again. We always went right after Memorial Day--the place was almost empty. The parks were nice too--no lines. Thanks for the infor on the Radison. I eally need to sit down and make phone calls. My 4 year old grandson is still talking about the trip next spring. He forgets nothing that he is told. Take care.

DF (well I guess it will be DH) and I will be on this cruise as well. In fact we are having our ceremony on board on the second day.(27th)

We are very excited as this is my first Disney Cruise and my DF first trip outside our home province.

DH and I will be joining in on this cruise too. Sleeping_Beauty81 is my sister so I of course had to come to her wedding, and how can anyone pass up a Disney Cruise.

:cheer2::banana: :cheer2:

Oh how exciting, and DCL wedding. Are you getting married on Castaway Cay or onboard? I hope we can get a glimpse of the bride and groom.

Welcome. Will anyone be joining you? I just want add everyone to the list.

Let me know if you guys are interested in joining the fish extender. If not, no worries we understand it is a wedding afterall.

I'll think about the fish extender it does sound interesting.

Welcome Sleeping_Beauty81 and angelgurl It is good to see others joining the cruise. A wedding on a disney cruise sounds wonderful!!! The time until april will go quickly.

I am going to do the fish extender. I even found some nice things to give away.

Now all I need to do is get the fish extender:rolleyes1

Sleeping_beauty81 You can go to e bay and search for fish extender and they have some there. Or you can make your own. If you do a search on this site for fish extender there are a number of different sets of directions in order to give you some ideas. I plan on making one for Christmas-yes I know it is getting closer- one for my son's family as a surprise. They don't sound hard to make-one just needs the time. I hope as the cruise gets closer we can get more people on the roll call. Have a good one. :)

Ok so I decided to make my own fish extender. I think it turned out alright.

Just wondering how everyone else's FE are coming?

Hi there!

Just wanted to say, we have upgraded to a 7day...to Tortola. So we won't be on this cruise ...( the price was incredible!! Only 400 more then this 4day..for 6 of us! We couldn't pass it up!)

Have a grest time, and I hope the weather is beautiful for everyone!!

hI I have finished for the most part one of ours. I will try later this evening to get a picture of it up on the boards. I am not sure how to do that but will give it a try. I have made one for my son and his family and still have to make ours. Wish me luck

I am so jealous of you people that I completed the FE. Please post pics, I'd love to see them. I actually went to the store the other day to buy the fabric and this adorable Pirate fabric caught my eye. Next thing I knew I bought fabric to make DD7 a pirate dress for pirate night. Then DD11 thought it was nice and she wanted one with more of grown up flare. There I was sewing away all New Years weekend. I'll see if DH can put them on the internet so I can show you the dresses. I think they came out cute. Next on the list is the FE. I was thinking about just using the left over Pirate fabric for the FE. I have enough scraps. Hmmm maybe tonight.

Anyone have passorts yet? We have to go get our passport pics taken today. Next week we are going to apply for the passports.

Ok here's a pic of mine.

Keep in mind that I did it all by hand so it's not the greatest.

OK guys. I have a picture of mine however being computer challenged I have not figured how to post the picture.:sad2: Would you so kind as to explain to me how to do it? I like the one Sleeping Beauty 81 has posted. The colors are really nice.:) I don't think mine is as wide either. I still have to put the cord on but that won't take long. Just remember handmade is good. I used scrapbooking things on mine. I will be looking forward to trying to post mine as well. Thanks

What I did was simply hook up my digital camera to the computer. Copy the pictures into "My Pictures" folder. Then I started a photobucket account online and copied that picture into my account. Edit the picture to make it whatever size you want. I did some cropping of mine. Safe that picture. Then use the IMG code to paste into the forum. (It sounds more difficult than it is)

Oh and my FE is a little bit bigger than recommended but I figured it won't be too big a deal...Hopefully.

Hello everyone. Its only 105 days left until we sail :cool1:  :cool1:

DH and I are going to join in on the FE as well.

I cheated and bought mine from a fellow disser when we went on the 11 Night Southern Cruise in 2006.
I did the decorations on it though which was really fun
