4/25/09 Magic - First Visit To Tortola!

3:00 is fine with me. Lisa - is that okay with you. You and I can get there 10 minutes early if you want so we can get the wristbands ready to hand and check off. I'll go along with the crowd. We make get some handed out at the port too - if we find each other :). I'm sure it will take time to line us up for a picture also.

Sandy

Sandy,

3:00 is good for us - we will meet you there at 2:50.

Lisa

Sharon: I think the group is planning on meeting in the Promenade Lounge at 3:00 for the meet and greet before the safety drill.

Michelle, it was a last minute decision We said lets go at 2:30 and got there at 4 (75 miles)
but we are lucky, maybe we can go again one of the next two Saturdays? let me know
Ole Ole Dot

Yeah, we left around 2:30 also, had a stop along the way, got there around 4:30 - we watched/listened to the sail away party while sitting in our truck outside the gate at the terminal! We then headed over to buy bait (for fishing) and into Jetty Park. Saw the Magic sail by while standing/walking along side the rocks next to the pier! I just love that horn! We have watched the sail away for two weeks in a row now!

Let me know if you guys decide to go down again before our cruise!

Hope everyone is doing well and getting more and more excited for the cruise! I know we are!

Check out the DIS FAQ. I just followed the instructions on there but I think you've got it right. :thumbsup2 You also need a packing list that says what's in the box. Remember, no food! That includes candy!

3 pm sounds great for the Cruise Meet!!

Hello all,

Lisa, I just sent our photo to you.

We will meet everyone at 3:00 on the promenade. LSU I'm 47, so your husband and I may have some friends in common, you never know.

Last night I read through all the stuff Disney sent and I see that tipping does apply to children. Sorry for not RT_M before hand.:headache: I do have another tipping question though. (please forgive me... I have lived here in Japan, where service is top notch and included in the price, for twenty years now and have either forgotten or lost track of social norms). I signed my wife up for a "Well Being Massage". What would be a standard tip and how is it given/presented?:confused3

Rebbecca, I see you are a fan of manga/anime/cosplay. Is there anything particular you would like from Japan? We live in a small town, but I can usually get my hands on most things I want. We always travel with our suitcases mostly empty on the forward part on any trip so it wouldn't be any
trouble. Just let me know.:thumbsup2

Thanks again all for inclusion in the FE and sorry about all the hassle.:snooty:

Someone mentioned FLT as a good place to use for ground transportation. When going through the online reservations do I choose "Orlando area" or "Cruise Transfers"? We need transportation to and from POP Century and the Port.

Thanks for all the help so far everyone.:dance3:

I forgot to relate this little story about our "Q". Last night I thought I would try to get something stirring in our little girl's head about our upcoming Disney cruise. I got out the FE and showed it to her. I also explained how it works to her. She didn't quite get it... lastly I used a magnet and hung it on the fridge. I completely forgot about it after that. I thought she had too. This morning when she got up up though, before anything else, she made a beeline to the FE. My wife and I were both at a loss as to what she was up to. She grabbed it, started going through all the pockets and finally proclaimed "Santa hasn't come yet!". As you can imagine, my wife and I were both rolling on the floor laughing:lmao:... I guess something is stirring in that brain of hers.:yay:

I'd Love to participate in the FE exchange. Is there a second list?

Tracy10073, they just updated it after the cut off. But I again :rolleyes1 will be able to add you to my list :laughing::laughing: I cannot speak for anyone else.

QRS - I think 15-20 % over the service $$ amount in the spa is tpyical when I go. You can add to your room charge.

As for Q, that is cute. :cloud9: She must have given you the face of "what's up" when you were laughing on the floor :rotfl2:

The week of the cruise, we should have one final list of all we wish to accomplish, including the FE list and map, the meeting time, and whatever else we may need to remind us about

Question of the week: What pets do you have and their name?

6 cats, no special type: Cookie, J R, Gumdrop, Hi-5 (mommie is the name we use, she is only teh mother to Gumdrop), Evie, and Trinity

2 dogs - Lady (mix of lab and malamut) and Gizmo (long hair chiwawa)

Mini hampster - Max

:laundy:

Question of the week: What pets do you have and their name?

My DH and I have one cat who we rescued from a local shelter. They had given her the name Cleopatra, which we promptly shortened to Cleo. Then my DH started calling her Kitty. She responds to either WHEN she chooses. Thinking about it now, the shelter had it right in calling her Cleopatra: she certainly is the queen of our house!:rotfl:

Just in case you didn't think this cruise could come soon enough, I thought I'd share what it looked like this morning when I woke up...

Ck- YUCK!!! Enjoy your day!

Our pets- Louie- 1yr old black lab! Jake the rabbit and several fish!

Hope to make it to the meet at 3- still working on a family picture- I worked OT all weekend!

Question of the week: What pets do you have and their name?

We have a 12 year old short hair border collie named Bernie. :dog: His parents were working dogs so he has always "herded" the kids in the back yard. When they swam in the pool, he would circle the pool and try to pull the kids out when they rested on the pool edge! A very smart dog. He was very ill recently and we thought we were going to lose him. Our girls don't know a home without Bernie and we were all very upset about his illness. Somehow, by the grace of God and a good vet, he made it through. It was a very emotional 2 weeks. Our littlest one always cries for him when we go on vacations that we have to leave him behind. He loves going with us when we go camping or on vacations that we can drive and take him with us. He can be so full of energy and excitement. He loves going places and literally pees himself when you pull out the leash:blush: We love our Bernie:cloud9:

Less than 3 weeks. :cool1:

I hear you! We had snow 2 or 3 weeks ago and a new storm coming tomorrow. We won't get snow this low from the storm coming. It should be very nice weather while we are on the ship though.:thumbsup2 I think I'll only pack one pair of long pants. The rest shorts and capri's!

Linda

Yucko CK -- I lived in Canada for 10 years. The first 7 were spent in Ontario - Picton and Oshawa. My first year there it snowed on my birthday in late April and I was horrified - so that picture brought back memories.
Hang in - less than 3 weeks.

Used to Live in MA now live in FL. Don't miss the snow but do miss how beautiful it looks after it first falls. Thanks for the great picture

WE have 3 dogs . 3 sharpei rain and storm, 1 daschund mickey. Rain and storm are currently the proud parents of 3 week old puppies. Anyone in the market for a sharpei puppy . LOL:rotfl:

beautiful weather picture.
My DD lives in Maine. she said that had lots of snow this winter season;)

Pets for us include two cocker spaniels - Charlie and Gus. They are 12 days apart will be four years old this month. Gus' birthday is Wednesday! We got them at the same time from the same breeder but they did not share parents. They are pretty much opposite of each other. Charlie loves people, is very friendly, and doesn't have much use for other dogs. Gus is very slow to warm up to stangers, hates my husband's golf clubs, and thinks other dogs are great. We love 'em dearly.

CK: okay, so I'll stop whining about it being 35 degrees tomorrow morning:rotfl::rotfl: We thought we had already had our Easter cold snap a week or so ago.

Tracy10073, please send me your info so we can add you to the list: cabin # and those in the travel party - adult names and names of children and their ages.

dvc2themax: we might need to finalize the list a bit earlier since there may be folks who will be leaving home to vacation before we depart on the cruise. How 'bout Friday, April 17? I think that is a great idea!!

Okay, now I really need to get back to work. Need to do something before I go out for lunch :laughing:
