OMG - I remember those and I remember what a big fuss the police would make over those silly things. I had one clipped to my rear view mirror. I remember the police would pull you over for drug paraphenila back in the day (those clips can be bought at the hardware store)

What would people do without Home Depot!

When Home Depot does their inventory they are probably wondering why they sell so many of those!

Maybe the government should forget about Tommy Chong and go after the real culprits.... the hardware stores!

Don't feel left out- you just continue get a good education, grow up and make an informed decision.

I have never heard of this before, and I used to hang out with the stoners back in the day. Perhaps we just figured there didn't need to be an official time or day.

I was thinking the same thing. I never heard of it either (ast least I don't remember .

Not so much HS, but definitely college where most of my "gang" were on something at any given moment of any given day. Heck I went to college in the Adirondacks, and it was so darned cold for so much of the year we had to do something to numb ourselves (BTW this was 1976-1978)

I'm 31 and only found out about this last year when I started dating a "smoker"

So dont feel left out. I am ridiculuosly naive about drugs, I have no doubt teens know way more than me!
Guess my parents did SOMETHING right if I made it nearly my whole life without that!

hmmmm- That is what you think. I think it is very secretive among adults. You can't just come right out and discuss it. And that is too bad that society sees it that way-But everyone can discuss their drinking habits. Which I, for one, do not have one!

I think it is funny that you use the word "still" like it is only for kids/young adults. Why is it OK for responsible adults to drink but not to smoke-

You would be amazed at some of the people you think don't do it- but really do.


BTW- I am very responsible. I have no children by choice, I own my own home, pay my bills on time, have a full time job, same one for 12 years and am a very nice person....you would love me

Madd you sound just like my boyfriend. Just throw some stats in there about how many people are killed by drunk drivers vs. pots smokers and you got it covered

It really used to bother me when we first started dating, but honestly a lot of his aguments made way too much sense... so, now I drink my wine while he smokes and we are both happy.

I'm 50 (!) and I honestly never heard of this!

But I will have a few beers later tonight in honor of the occasion.

I have another thread about this because I didn't see this one. I teach HS and all the stupid potheads skip today. I guess I would wish all the responsible adults a happy day but in my world no responsible adult is still smoking pot.

Don't feel bad, I've never heard of this either and I'm 28! 4 years of high school and 4 years of college and I never heard a word about it until today.

I just asked my DD17 if she knew what today was, she said it is "National Smoke Weed Day".

Her and her friend just changed into their running clothes to do a few laps around the track.

As a former teen/college pot smoker (A/B student),former teacher, and now parent, I think it HILARIOUS that parents think that just because their teen says, "Gee Ma, I don't know what 4/20 is..." or b/c their kid is involved in sports or even b/c their kid gets good grades- they aren't drinking or smoking. Your kids DO know what it is... unless they are homeschooled...but even those kids can get some through church groups and sleepaway camps! The kids who smoke might surprise you (its not always the bone-head hippies ).

I think this is sad that all of this seems to be revolving around kids. No way do I condone kids smoking-- OR drinking- but I think adults get the $#@ end of the stick on this subject b/c everyone is trying to protect the kids.

I always think it is funny (not funny ha-ha, funny ironic) how it is SO well known and almost accepted that under-aged kids are drinking- a lot- in college. But say you smoke and you are a pot-head, loser, moron

If people would put down their drinks and smoke a little, the world would be a happier place. No nasty drunks, fights, passing out, alcohol poisening, deaths from alcohol poisening, puking, hangovers- should I go on
