4/19 Magic -- Attire and other ???

We are sailing on the Magic on 4/19 Eastern Carribean! Can't wait. I have a few questions I hope you can help with:

1. I know that everything is pretty casual except for dinner. What do most of the boys 9-12 wear to dinner on formal and semiformal nights. I know that casual long pants are fine for the other nights.

2. For seasickness I've heard of Bomine, Dramamine, and Ginger Tablets. I've also heard of something you can put on your wrist that is safe for kids. Any other suggestions?

3. Are there any excursions that are particularly recommended on St. Martin, St Thomas and Castaway Cay? Also, I assume that when you wake up in the am, you can get right off the boat as it travels at night. What time does it leave the port in the evening? I've looked at some of the excursions lasting 4-5 hours and I'm not sure I want to spend that much time doing 1 thing. I think I'd rather lay on the beach!

We are also on your cruise...Have you read our thread called Cruisin with the Easter Bunny? If not, please join me and other Disers who will be on that same cruise.

Well, I only have two girls so the question about boys will be based only on what I have observed or read. On the formal night it is recommended that men (and I assume boys) wear a jacket or a dress shirt should be fine, I think. I have seen pictures taken on formal night with boys in tuxes also. My nephews are going on our cruise too and are just wearing dress shirts and black pants.

In St. Maarten we are all going on the Golden Eagle Catamaran which I have heard very positive things about...very highly recommended! Going to St. John to snorkel is another excursion I hear often mentioned with glowing comments and many go on their own to have more time (but make sure you are not late for the ship's leaving time, of course!). We are going to Coral World on St. Thomas and then to Coki Beach. We are doing this by ourselves so that we can stay as long (or as little) as we like based on weather and so on. I have been to St. Thomas and St. John before and they are both great places for doing the beach thing and snorkeling. If you go to St. John, you will also get the fun of the ferry ride to get there and back.

Janet, as far as the seasickness medicine goes, I have brought Bonine in the past but found that the kids are not the ones who often struggle with feeling sick. Even though my oldest dd complains of car sicknesses regularly, she never needed the bonine on the ship. And that was with a very rough day at sea one day! I do plan on giving it to both my two girls on the catamaran ride, just in case.
