First timer here. We have a 415 @ Ohanas. Will we have time to watch parade if we leave immediately after.

As sad as it sounds, there are currently no parades scheduled after that time anywhere in WDW.

ETA: Not sure if you mean leaving ADR for the parade or the reverse.

The 3:30 parade? If so, then no. If you are going when it’s a 2pm parade, then yes.

The parade starts in fronteirland at the designated time and it’s 15-20 mins before it reaches Main Street. And even if you watch it in fronteirland, the path out of the park will be hard to navigate, especially this time of year. Then you have to wait for boat or monorail.

Edit. When are you going? I was assuming you wanted to watch the parade before dinner?

When are you going? Currently, the parade runs at 2:00. You’d have plenty of time.

I’m not sure when it switches back to 3:00. I still think you would make it, but it would be pretty tight.

ETA - looks like it switches back to 3 in January.

It’s also 3:30 (and noon) on Christmas week. Which is when I’m going and hence my answer. Haha.

We are traveling late January and yes wed like to see Parade before. I'm hoping to get lucky and find a later reservation but as of now 415 is what I have.

I have a 2nd MK day I could do it but I was hoping to do it the first day in case bad weather etc prevents us from seeing it Day 2.

Stand in front of the Main St. Railroad Station (with your backs to the Railroad Station.)
The parade will get there about 3:27PM.
It will be over about 3:45-ish. Head directly to the resort monorail and ride to the Poly.

You may likely be about 15 min. late at 'Ohana, but that's still OK for "WDW timing."

What I would do is grab a viewing spot close to the entrance of the park, maybe in front of the flag on main street, The Emporium, or The Town Square Theater. That way you can make a quick escape to the boats and ride over to Ohana right after. As long as you are there within a few minutes of your reservation time, you shouldn't have a problem. The parade isn't that long.

This sounds doable. Thanks everyone. Hopefully I'll get lucky and get a slightly later reservation. My travel agent said I would need to leave an hour to an hour and half prior to my reservation.

That is probably what I would do. But I really don't like to be late, and I wouldn't enjoy the parade feeling like I have to rush.

If I can add my bit of advice on getting to the Poly in the quickest manner possible....

When you leave MK.... visually check the Poly/GF resort launch dock - if you see a boat coming in, about to dock, or boarding - take the boat. It stops at GF before Poly, FYI.

If you do NOT see a boat anywhere close (and especially if one has just left), take the Resort Monorail line to Poly.

You plan seems doable to me - no room for error, but doable.

Another option but it would depend on your traveling party and how fast they can walk.
Watch the parade from Frontierland, preferably by the Country Bears as soon as the last float goes through cut through adventureland and then cut through the Emporium, I have done this and been able to exit the park even before the first float reaches the front of the park/town square. It would require fast walk though

I have done this as well with all adults. No stopping but you should be out of the park before the parade gets to the square which would put you on your way by about 3pm from a 2pm start. Don't watch the parade at the exit gate as it takes a long time for it to travel across the park. Watching in Frontierland means you are one of the first to see and finish seeing it. (Just for reference did this during MNSSHP and stopped in the Hub before entering the Emporium and was able to watch the parade a second time!)

Ha! Funny you mention this, I did the same thing somewhat by accident back in October. We ended up watching both the early parade and the second parade. For the second, we were in Frontierland then with a reasonably fast pace made our way to Main Street to leave (we were ready to go at that point). Ended up seeing all by the very first float again right there in Town Square. So we really got THREE parades in that night - it was GREAT!

And by Emporium you mean you'd walk the main street but inside through the stores. This is a first trip for us so just checking out on map.

Thank you! Having never been I would have assumed the Monorail would have been the fastest method. I assume all the transportation options are clearly marked.

Yes. All of the stores on the west side of Main Street are connected inside. You can even enter Casey's Corner and then slide through to the shop. Then you can make your way all the way to the front corner of the Emporium and out to the Town Square area (where the flagpole and train station are). That said, I do not know if I recommend this for a first time visitor. It might be confusing.

The Monorail is probably going to be the fastest, but if there is a boat right there and handy without a big line to board, that may be faster. As for directions, the Boat Launch will be ahead and a little to the RIGHT as you exit MK. The Monorail will be more to the RIGHT, but make sure you go up the ramp for "Resort Monorail" as there is the "Express Monorail" that goes straight to the TTC (parking lot) and does not stop at the resorts. They travel in opposite directions too, so the Resort Monorail will stop at the Contemporary, the TTC, and then the Polynesian. It may help to have a look at some maps to get a feel for it.

ETA: Goodness, I don't know my left from my right. I was seeing it as a map, not from the ground level POV. I changed the post.
