4/15/2007 Anyone?

We just returned from a week in Florida and realized that we could have done a 4 day cruise and a short stay in Orlando for what we spent last week, or less. So........ we booked the 4 day for 4/15/07. It'll be me, DW and DS, who will be 12. Anyone else going?

We've started the plans for it already. Checked school schedules and have been finding out what we ned for passports and the like. This will be our 1st ever cruise.

As of today ... we'll be there too. It'll be Me, DH and our 2 DS ... 10 and 7. This will be our 4th DCL cruise, but our 1st of less than 7 days.

We're combining the cruise with a stay at WDW, and a trip to see FIL in the Ft. Myers area. In total we'll be in FL for 14 days ... with the kiddo's only missing 4 school days

I'm hoping to book tomorrow with DH & DD (18). We cruised on the Magic - 7 day Eastern 2 years ago and had a wonderful time. We are using DVC points. We hope to stay 2 or 3 days in WDW afterward. I'll let you all know if I am able to find a cabin.

Hi Ed,

Hopefully more people will show up when the cruise gets closer. On my last DCL cruise, we had about 14 people, but it took them a while to sign up on our thread.

Lat year on NCL, we had 60 people! They gave us a room to meet and a continental breakfast. It was great. Maybe as time passes, our current group will grow.

Hi Judy,

It would be nice if there were more of us. Last year on the August repo, we had over 500 in our group (The Ship of Fools) and they let us use Rockin Bar D for a group meet. You couldn't go anywhere on the ship without seeing someone from the group. We had special lanyards (and pins) made, so it was very easy to spot someone else in the group.

I see you live in suburban Boston; DS (22) lives in Cambridge. In fact, DD (17) is visting him right now and we're going tomorrow to pick her up.

MikeS, did you book yet? How many will be in your group, and how old are the kids? DD(17) is hoping for kids her age. She'll be 18 when we cruise.

poohsmum, this is our 2nd DCL cruise, although the last one was 7 days. I hope I'm not too dissapointed having to disembark after 4 days! We are probably going to WDW for a few days afterward also, but I haven't booked it yet. We have to decide on that soon.

Ed, is your family going to WDW after as well. We have DVC points that we're using for the cruise, but we won't have enough left for more than 1 night at OKW, our home resort. We have to decide if we want to spend the extra $$ to stay another night or two there. We haven't been there in 4 years! I can't believe how much I mis it.

Hey Y'all! We booked in February but it took me awhile to find this thread! I was worried no one else was going to be on the ship with us.

This too will be our first cruise. It will be me, DH, DD, DSIL and 2 DGDs 7 & 13. We are really looking forward to a WONDERful Cruise! In the meantime we're counting the days....

We will be on the Wonder April 15-19th also ! Myself , Dh , Ds6 and Ds3 . We are also traveling with my mom her db and a few of his family members. Can't wait to meet everyone!!! We will be in Orlando from the 11th offsite (everyone is doing there own thing..but don't know if I can be that close and not end up getting two day passes to DW !!!) and BWV 19-21 (wondering about the hoppers too !)

Welcome Lori! It looks like you are going to have quite a bit of family on the cruise. That should be fun.

We haven't solidified our plans yet but we do know we will spend the night before the cruise in Cocoa Beach and probably spend Saturday touring KSC with the kids and grandkids. After the cruise DSIL is making noises about driving on back to Virginia but my dh and I are trying to talk him and DD into bringing our grandaughters and joining us at WDW for a couple of nights. The little girls think that's a great plan but their parents may need a little more convincing.

I'm so excited our little group is groiwng! We are also travelling with friends who have a DD(17, but will be 18 by the cruise), DD(who will turn 16 on the cruise) and DD(5). How old are all the other family members (children only, you don't need to give me any adult ages!!! ) in both of your groups, peanmunch & DVCSmile?

I'll go through our thread and make a list of everyone.

We are looking into staying at the Radisson at the Port the night before the cruise. I need to work on my ressie's. So far I've only booked the cruise, and that was with our DVC points. I need to work on airfare, OKW for the 19 - 21 and the Radisson. I keep hoping airfare from the NY airports will go down. Right now they are higher than we've ever paid! Even though we live in CT, we usually fly out of NY.

What are you all doing about getting to the port? Last time we cruised DCL we did a one day rental before and after the cruise and found that to be easy. The more $$ I save on these things, the more I can spend during the cruise!!!

I had stopped looking for a while wondering what everyone else knew that I didn't ... thought for sure we'd be sailing on a dinghy We'll be heading to Punta Gorda to spend time w/FIL a couple of days before the cruise and then driving to the port from his place ... yes, I know it will be a long drive, but well worth it once we step onto that ship

We'll also be spending 5 or 6 days at WDW after the cruise We'll be joined there by MIL and her DH ... and perhaps DH's Bro, SIL and nephew. We'll be celebrating some milestone b-day's next summer that no one wants to admit to ... hence the big trip in April.

Judy, I'm originally from just outside of Boston, (my Grandparents lived in Cambridge) and we currently live just over the CT border in MA. Ok, that's my trivia for the day
