This morning I woke up prior to my wake up call because BriarPatch was fussy. We would soon discover that she was cutting 4 teeth this trip. Poor baby. So we cancelled the wake up and decided to sit on the verandah and enjoy the view. It is so peaceful to hold your little one and watch the ocean. I waited for room service to call and tell me they were on their way, as they usually do. When it was 20 minutes past delivery time, I decided to call. I was worried that maybe since last nights order didnt arrive, breakfast might not either. Sure enough, the order was never put through. They apologized and not 10 minutes later they arrived at the door. Four servers in total, including the in room dining manager. He said he understood I had faced a challenge this morning. I assured him it was no big deal. He said, It is a very big deal to me. Please tell me what happened. I explained about the previous night and how our order was missing, poor guy- I see him cringe. Then how I called because our servers are always so prompt. I got smiles from our servers for this statement, which was very true. Dining manager apologizes again. I joke that as long as I have coffee, all is well. He jumps to pour me a cup. I assure him its fine. Now, I do not expect perfection. I expect problems to occur, I was a wedding and event planner for almost 8 years. But, it is really nice that Disney strives to give you perfection. I tipped my servers and thanked them again. Shawn and I eat and then head to our couples massage. Now I have only had a pregnancy massage which I assure you was a whole different ball game. Shawn has never been massage except by me (and I dont know what I am doing) and he is nervous. I swear he looks like he is about to face a firing squad. I am a little tense myself, worrying about his reaction. This would become a pattern for me during the whole massage. We arrived and filled out our forms. I checked off that I had headaches/sinus problems (I had picked up a cold from the air conditioning in our stateroom) and that I worried about water retention and cellulite. Shawn checks off nothing. He has had a sinus headache for two days. I ask him why he omitted this, he says he has no problems he needs to share. Ok. We meet the two girls, Clare and Philanie, who will massage us. They take us to a room, the two massage beds just fit in there. They review our forms. Since DH has given the impression he is in perfect health, I get to have full attention as we discuss my cellulite and water retention worries. (Thanks, honey.) They tell us to leave on our underwear and wrap in the towel, and lay face down. I swear I thought DH was going to bolt. But we did as asked and waited. Now as I lay with my head in the hole on the table, all I can think is: 1) please dont let my nose start running onto the floor, and 2) I hope my DH doesnt feel too uncomfortable. Well, the girls return and dim the lights. The room is quiet except for the humm of the ships engines. Let me say first that these girls were very professional and we were very green and nervous. The first thing I thought as she uncovered my leg and starting massaging was, That oil is really warm. How is DH handling that. This was not a deep tissue massage but more like a stroking. So as she massaged higher on my leg, I wondered again how DH was handling it. Then I wondered how high he was being rubbed. Clare began my foot massage and I wondered if I should mention DHs ticklish feet. You cant even brush past them without him jumping. But I didnt hear a peep, so he must have concentrated REALLY hard. (he did)When Clare rubbed my right arm, I was having my left arm massaged by Philanies backside because the room was so small. At this point my hand had fallen asleep but I was afraid to move it or wiggle it because, as I mentioned, Philanies butt was on it. Then when Clare rubbed my left arm, I wondered if her butt was now on Shawns arm. (It was.) Now, how do I feel about that? Like I said, I worried about his reaction the whole time. Afraid he wasnt enjoying it and afraid he was enjoying it too much. So when Clare massaged my back and her chest was on the back of my head, you know what I was worrying then. (and, yes, that happened too) Ditto, when she lowered my underwear and about 2 inches of my vertical smile was revealed. This became a pattern. Then we flipped over. Now at this point I stop worrying about DHs reactions because now I realize I can no longer breath with my mouth open because Clare will see me. So I had to take very long, slow breaths through my nose. I think I had a nasal passage open that was the width of a coffee stirrer. All in all, we survived. The girls left for us to change. We exchanged glances and then laughed. We would laugh even more later when we exchanged our tales. We were very relaxed and when the girls returned we purchased some muscle ease oil. Then it was back to the room. Now the plan was for DS to go to Hanging in the Stack, and Grandma was taking the girls to clubs. We should have had a nice private cabin. Well, no such luck. Theres DS, wearing his new lanyard and hat. He had gone shopping and was waiting for us. Little did I know when I purchased the Romantic Escape at Sea that I would soon need to find a Romantic Escape from Son. Oh well, we headed to deck 10, then convinced DS to go to the arcade. Call to see if Grandma is back at either room, no answer. (Now, I admit, I did worry she might have lost someone, so we went looking.) Find Grandma and the girls. DS arrives not too much later. Decide to try for alone time later and get ready for our Dis Meet in the Walt Suite, 2 doors down from us. LeiLani and Rich (DVC4US)had gone all out. Wine, champagne, snacks. The suite is beautiful and we got a great photo of Redhead at the grand piano. We met Denvick, Mouseclick, KennyK, Beachbum3, HanSolo, and Goodeguys. Really wonderful people.Grandma left with the kids before we did. We stayed a little longer, then hung out at Quiet Cove with Denvick and Goodeguys. We listened to the Disney Trivia game and played along amongst ourselves. The ship was really starting to rock now. DH relieved Grandma and I took her to High Tea at Palos. We made the mistake of walking outside in the wind. We arrived windblown and giggling because we were walking like drunk people. Tea was nice, it was hard to be lady like and pour your tea when the boat was so shaky. But Grandma and I had alone time and I knew she forgave me for losing my patience the first day. Back at the cabin, DH and DS are both feeling seasick. Grandma takes girls back to their room. I took BriarPatch in the Jacuzzi tub with me. Tonight is formal night and DS and DH get ready at the last minute. DDs arrive without Grandma. Braelynn announces that Grandma will be along after she throws up. Grandma arrives a few minutes later, green, but she didnt vomit after all. We decided against formal photos because everyone is green. We are in Lumieres and we have a table right in front of a huge window. Poor Grandma. She turns her seat away from it. Our head server, Jeff, comes to her rescue and clips the curtains shut. We dont want your dinner going that way. DS is still feeling to poorly to eat, but DH feels better with some food in his stomach. After the excellent, excellent speech we decide to change before going to the Golden Mickeys. This is a fun new show and the baby loves it. She dances on my lap until she wears herself out and falls asleep. Grandma decides to stay in our room with the kids so Shawn and I can go out. We head to Rockin Bar D, but it is too smokey for me. I am still really stuffed up and my allergies were acting up. So we went to Sessions. Now I am a huge piano bar fan. I love Billy Joel, Ray Charles, and Elton John. I am also not a big nightclub person. So listening to Kenne do his Sinatra set was heaven. We thought about trying again in Rockin Bar D for 70s night show but we are becoming old farts and could not stay up. I wish we could have stayed up later as I missed hanging out at night with our fellow Disers . But we still have such little kids that we wear out quickly. With everyone feeling seasick we decide to just sleep in and enjoy the boat tomorrow. (We had done a Capt. Marvins excursion last cruise while I was pregnant. I had fed the fishes my own way, not anxious for a repeat.) Since we were just going to do a beach day, we opted for a pool day instead.
