Long night with BriarPatch. Her little teeth are driving her crazy. Now originally we planned to try and take Grandma to brunch and drop Briar at Flounders. (I called during the week and got a spot for her with no problem.) But because she is teething, her nose is running. (I know, this is supposed to be an old wives tale and babies don’t get runny noses because of teething. Yeah, right. I have 4 kids and they all got a runny nose when they got a new tooth. Doctors may say it isn’t possible, but we moms know better.) So DH says he will stay with the baby and I can take my mom to Palos. Isn’t he a sweetie? Well, Grandma arrives and announces that she isn’t up to brunch and we should go. Isn’t she a sweetie? Grandma insists and off we go. Once again we get “our table” and the fabulous Gemma. Everything is wonderful, as always. We don’t linger because we want to take BriarPatch to get her picture with Sleeping Beauty. Now, you true Disney fans know that Briar Rose was Princess Aurora’s name for the 16 years she lived with the 3 Good Fairies. So I need a photo with her “namesake”. We get a sweet pizza to go and take it back to Grandma. It was when we were letting ourselves into our cabin that we realized our “Happy 13th Anniversary, Cruising in Style” magnet was gone. Our NeverlandClub magnet was still there, but the other one was gone. I guess someone else was having their 13th Anniversary and wanted to recycle it. People will take the weirdest things.

Anywho, Grandma has BriarPatch dressed in her Tinker Bell outfit and we head to the lobby for photos. After that we did a little shopping and ran into Patti and her daughter Katie (Beachbum3) from our Dis meet. (We were making a habit of this, we seemed to run into each other everywhere, including Paradise Beach. It became a joke with us. They are a great bunch.) Grandma took the kids to the matinee of Disney Dreams and DH and I wasted time until our Stem to Stern wine tasting. I decided to look around Treasure Ketch and DH waited outside the store in a chair. Turns out he had the right idea because as I was looking at the jewelry, another woman must have been feeling the effects of last night’s Mexicalifragilistic feast. She bent a little too far over and well, let’s just say the store became much less crowded. I made my escape and found DH. We headed to our wine tasting.

Now, from reading these boards I recalled that the tasting is billed to your room as a Lumiere’s charge. So I figured that was where it was held. Never checked the tickets or my navigator. So when we show up and nobody is around, DH says, “Are you sure its here.” I take out the tickets and discover it is in Sessions lounge. What can I say but, “Mirror, mirror, on the wall- I’ve become my mother after all.” So we head to Sessions and the CM at the door teases me that the tickets are for float rentals at Castaway Cay. DH laughs and shares my recent blonde moment with her. We take our seats. I wave over at Patti and her DH, Bob. (See, I told you we bumped into each other a lot.) I enjoyed the wine tasting, even when I confused which glass was mine and DH had to correct me. In my defense, this was after 3 glasses of wine. Sheldon, the head wine guru, sworded off the top of a champagne bottle with a butter knife and then with a champagne flute. It took him a few tries, but it was very impressive. We stayed after for a few minutes and asked some questions of Sheldon.Very nice guy.

We headed off to relieve Grandma and give everyone time to rest up before semi-formal night. I wanted to be ready early and get lots of photos since nobody was seasick tonight. We all managed to be ready by 5:15 and headed downstairs. As usual for this particular cruise, we are way more dressed up than the majority of people. But who cares, we looked good! BriarPatch and Redhead were dressed in their Snow White costumes, Braelynn was in her fancy Ariel gown. So cute. We got photos with Minnie Mouse. Redhead was so happy, she grabbed me and said, “ Oh Mommy. I can’t believe I got my picture with Minnie in her fancy dress.(insert heavy sigh here) It’s a dream come true!” Like I said before, you just gotta love the Redhead. We did all the formals and then took our own pics in the big round windows outside of Rockin’ Bar D. Then off to dinner. Dinner was lovely, nearly all of us got lobster. After the biggest of all excellent speeches thus far, we left to get ready for the evening Disney Dreams show. I changed because my gown was dropping blue glitter all over.

During the show, BriarPatch got fussy so DH decided to take her out and walk her. Braelynn moved to seat beside me and Redhead got on my lap. Now here was my best Disney moment. My sweet little girls singing along with the show and you could just see the innocence and wonder on their faces. I can’t help thinking how fast they are growing and how I wish they could just stay like this forever. Full of dreams and hope. So by the end of the show I am crying. And when Mickey and Minnie come out at the end, Redhead tells me, “ This is my favorite part, Mama.” Me, too. That settles it, we have to book another cruise.

Tonight we decided to coax DS to go to clubs, at least for one night. He wanted to go to the pool party but it gets cancelled due to a “clean up” at the Mickey Pool. But I convince him to stay at the lab for the soap regatta race.
Grandma keeps the girls and DH and I go catch Kenne in Sessions. He did Nat King Cole. After, we went to the Dessert Buffet. This was so awesome looking. We took ours back to the room to share with mom & the kids. DS arrives and guess who won the regatta race? He did. They had a pizza party, too. Now he wished he had gone sooner. Sheesh. We had only been trying to get him there all week.
Then DH surprised me. While we were in Dreams, he had gotten me a lovely card. It had Sleeping Beauty on the front and it said “I met you once upon a dream”. I love that guy!

We filled out our Champagne Breakfast order (for our REAS) and hung it on the door. We stuffed ourselves with desserts and then headed to bed. Tomorrow was Castaway Cay!!

to be continued…..

Please post the next one soon. I am so enjoying your reports.
Thanks, Staci
