... I am leaning toward keeping it simple and keeping my disney transport (I may be a cougar in some ways...but possibly a chicken in others)
---Simple thought to keep in mind:
"Disney Transport WILL INDEED get you to where you need to go - ON TIME"
"All other transport options will LIKELY get you to where you ned to go - ON TIME, without hassle" Need I say more?
IMHO, if you have a large party, YES, it can be much cheaper to book return transport on your own. However, if you are a smaller party, and on a time constraint ... be cautious of a taxi promising to get you somewhere ... put you in the cab ... then WAIT for more passengers to fill up the vehicle. Do you really want to sit and wait for more people to be crammed into the vehicle ... potentially making you rush, or be late ... for the sole purpose of making the cabbie a few extra bucks.
When it is just the two of us, we prefer
DCL transfers. Your thoughts, opinions and fuel mileage may vary!
Kids - were we supposed to bring kids on this cruise? Nobody said Disney was for kids Oh yeah I am bringing 2 of those things - but Disney has activities for them - DIS is my fun!
--We are a party of two kids ... both in their 40's!
Did we mention we are a sub-culture on the cruise - people will ask you why you have a weird lanyard on or why you have all that stuff on your door ...
--We were on DCL EB Caribbean in 12/09. DW was sitting by the family pool with her sister, each having picked up chicken fingers from Goofy's, and a drink from the beverage station. One woman walked up to DW ... ASKED WHY SHE (DW) WOULD BUY CHICKEN FINGERS AND A SOFT DRINK, when DCL provides breakfast, lunch and dinner FREE OF CHARGE?
Oay, so DW was like a deer-in-headlights! To clarify, I think the other guest (who was wearing a SILVER
Castaway Club lanyard - so she has been on at least one other DCL cruise), was under the impression that ONLY sit down / restaurant dining was included / FREE OF CHARGE.
DW explained the
new concept of cruising ... all the food you desire - any time - any place (yes, even room service - sans Palo's)! The next day, that other guest was seen walking from Goofy's, with a tray of chicken fingers!
<<Private travel to Barcelona airport>> now the question to go find out is how much more do they charge for extra luggage. May stick with Disney not sure - of course I do not even have a flight out of Barcelona yet
---Another reason to stick with DCL transfers! BTW - we are flying on Iberia Airlines (based in Spain, sister airline to AA). Iberia provides 3 BAGS per passenger, plus carry on! We used American Airlines miles to fly FIRST CLASS to JFK!
I do have 2 suitcases already packed with detailed lists of what is in each one ... five books in my new series of Christmas Organizing book...
--Remember to consider shipping boxes of SM's, FE's or an extra piece of luggage or two to the DCL waterhouse (see page 1 post). Also, please add us as having interest in your Christmas seminar.
