Jackie, Pam & I are staying at the COuntry Inn & Suites also, but probably won't arrive until about 8pm. Let us know where the meet is...there could always be someone still out & about that late - if not....who can I pm/email my last name so that the lanyards can be left at the front desk or in our room???? :)

I think we will be partying the night away, hehe but if not yes, please PM me and I will have them at the front desk for you. :thumbsup2

Morning everyone!

We are ordering the lanyards today!

We will keep the colors a secret since several said let that be a surprise (and they are ones who do not know the color). If you are one of the few who do know the color - let this be our little secret :cool1:

In order to receive a Lanyard the only thing you need to do is make sure you are on the "Cruiser List" that is on Lynne's website. We have ordered 500 so there is enough for any and all newcomers up to the day we board. I know that seems like a lot of lanyards but it was a cost issue - because of price breaking it would have cost us almost the same to order the number we need now plus just a limited amount of extras, so for a very small amount (like $20) we could get 500!

Even if you do not want to wear a lanyard you are welcome to accept them as a rememberence of the cruise because we will have plenty.

For team members who did not make it to the chat last night (thanks for the room Dee - we need to just do a chat with the group here sometime!) you were all emailed the amount you need to mail to me along with my address. Those outside the US can bring the money on the ship in US (or just put it on my stateroom account :) ) Please let me know if you did not get the email.

Welcome to all our new cruisers over the past weeks! Make sure Lynne has you listed on our master list. Lanyards are our gift to you and everyone!

Hi I am new to this group - but not to the DIS. I just booked the Transatlantic Cruise - traveling solo (but not alone with the DIS). Am I too late to join some of the fun?

:welcome:

Never too late in my book!

Check out page 1 for lots of great information!

Some tips on staying safe during your upcoming Cougar Cruise:

- Make a note of cruisers who are conspicuously absent (except for PrincessMonkey and Groom, who have a blanket hall pass for missing activities)

Why do they get the free pass? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I left the side blank just in case you wanted to add your own family info.

Welcome!

We have several solo travelers - they even have some tables going for dinner.

Today is the cut off for Secret Mickey!

Go to the first page of this thread and find out many details and also a link to Lynne's site with all our collected information.

Send your info over to Lynne to be listed on the web site - this is the list we will use to distribute the lanyards (a gift to EVERYONE from the Lanyard team!)

I was thinking around 6, does that work for you?

Not sure our plans for dinner. I know DISers in the past have all ordered pizza's and stuff and just had a dinner meet around the pool.

I think the lanyards are getting sent to you so you will have to bring those with you.

 So Excited!

I was thinking more along 7 or 7:30 so people could go out if they want. I owe the person driving me down dinner anyway and I'm not much of a pizza fan. But we might be able to do an early dinner if people prefer 6pm.

The pool area sounds great - especially if the weather is cooperating.

I have signed up for both SM and FE. I know what an FE is, in terms of the thing that hangs on the door, but what is the difference in what we do? SMs you have a secret pal and prepare a gift/goodie bag for them for about $25, right? Do we do gifts for everyone on the FE list for the FEs?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I have read a lot of the posts and am still not clear, but they both sound fun. I just don't want to disappoint anyone.

Good job, Krisann.

Bulk pricing reminds me of Costco.

questions are good - that is how we learn :)

FE's

Yes you give a gift to either each person or each family group/cabin on the list found on page one of the thread. some people are doing one gift for each person and some are doing a gift for the family - either way is fine.

For me personally I gave one gift to the adults/teens and another gift to the kids and a different gift for the toddlers (did not think the parents would let the toddlers have candy (or at least the kind I gave to the kids) so mine is kinda complicated but that is just me - I have been collecting things for 16 months!

Some people make things and others buy things - it is a fun thing to do - don't stress out over it!

Secret Mickey (SM) is a series of gifts from person to another (or couple to couple), culminating in a "reveal" gift, where the secret identity is revealed. There is a cap on total $ spent - someone else can verify the exact $.

Fish Extender (FE) exchange is (at a minimum - and you don't have to try to outdo each other) a gift from your cabin to each (and every) cabin participating. And only one gift is expected during the entire cruise. No designated day to give, but we hope that everyone doesn't gift the first day or so and leave the other 12 days wanting. It is fun to see something in your FE as you come down the hall.

Some people go all out with their giving - personalized items, lots of time involved. Some go simple and inexpensive - there are a lot of cabins. Some will give the minimum one gift to the cabin and others will give to each member of the party and sometimes multiple gifts.

You have no idea what you are in for.

Sometimes the actual FE goes missing - bad behavior from kids (or mean adults). However, there will not be as many kids this cruise. And I've never heard of the gifts disappearing - although someone else will probably chime in that it happens.

The one protection against losing your FE is to secure it by using one of the zip ties they sell in the hardware section of Wal-Mart (or you may receive it as an FE gift!) - I simply looped my ribbon around the Fish. It's like locked cars - it doesn't remove easily, it probably won't be bothered.

Christmas Organizing Workshop

I have been asked by several people if I was willing to do a Christmas Organizing Workshop during the cruise and I said yes.

Here is what I want to do:

If you are interested in attending this workshop which will be about an hour in length I need you to let me know either here on the board or by email (akblair@charter.net). Everyone who signs up will get a free copy of my book.

I am not sure when to do the workshop during the cruise, I am a late night person so I would not have a problem doing it one evening at say 10 or 10:30 after all the activities are finished but that may be too late for some people?

Once we have a group of people we can meet up in the chat room and talk about when to do it.

I will go and add this to the front page in my extra slot - and Lynne if you want you can add it to web site.

Thanks in advance!

Krisann
