It is a shame that some kids are growing up so fast.... but its their loss....we BIG kids (and little ones) can play the day away on our TA soon! ...if they had a "stick my tongue out and do raspberries" smiley face I'd send you one for your DD to take to class tomorrow

Same here! I just showed it to my 8yo DGD. She said aaaw, it's so cute! When I told her that Brooklyn's "friends" made fun of her, she almost started crying! She felt so bad for her! Kids, nowadays!!! No respect! :sad2:

It is really sad the lack of respect that kids have these days! It breaks my heart!!! If there is anything that my daughters take from me I hope it is respect. Brooklyn just told me that the kids starting ripping off the wrappers and throwing them in the garbage. SO RUDE! It is funny bc Brooklyn says "who cares" and I am almost in tears! I tend to fall on the "stricter" parent side and if my daughter came home and told me that she threw away something that someone made for them right in front of them she WOULD NOT be eating the candy. UGH! Just so rude!!!

Thanks to all who have welcomed me

We are a family of 3 children: boy 7, girl turning 5 on the cruise, and another girl 2....it will be very exciting for my daughter to have her birthday during our cruise...something I can say none of the other children will probable have...

I am certainly going to take the time to look through the different posts and websites and learn what I can to make our trip less of a hassle and hopefully not run into any surprises...

I was just looking around on the DCL website for our cruise, and noticed that, just this afternoon categories 6, 7, 8, and 9 went from lots of rooms available to GTY status. That may mean they have begun the stateroom shuffle, and those with GTY status may get their assignments before too long, don't you think?

I think under 30 is a fabulous age! :worship:

Hmmm ... can I sit by the adult pool to "rate" the 20-something's on a scale of 1-10, via flash cards (aka boxing ring style)? Do you think that would be inappropriate? Okay guys, who else is with me on this? If necessary, we can head up to the Outlook Bar, to judge in seclusion (and be closer to the bar)!

<<Hershey's candy bar>> Brooklyn - the candy bar was very thoughtful. Do you think they said BABIES becasue of Winnie the Pooh, or chocolate? The classmates deserve a BIG BOO!

Sounds like a plan Steven. For either reason.

Brooklyn, Just remember they always come back to the mouse.

you made me go look......nothing yet :upsidedow

I'm beginning to wonder if I should change my screen name to "cougar"? :lmao: Not that I am one. :rotfl2:

Maybe "cougar" would represent your inner beast.

...I call 'dibs' on Phillip...my favorite Disney prince.

The only Prince Philip I know of is married to QE2; I am quite sure that is not of whom you speak. Who is Phillip and with which Disney princess is he affiliated?

Ok, at least I am not as bad as these girls that were in my girl scout troop when I was in middle school. When we went on a trip to the keys, every night two or three would wander the campground until they found a guy. They would shine the flashlight in his face and tell him his "rating" (i.e. 1 - 10)!!!! Now THAT is bad.

I dont know Kristi....you DO know all the room numbers :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:...

Crackin' me up! Maybe this is a new version of "cabin tag." Here's the magnet:

or maybe just put this in the area where you are sitting.

...I am having fun with this. I laughed so much with the posts yesterday that I had to share it with my Facebook friends. :goodvibes...

Soon you'll be sharing all this with us face to face. They may have to put us in a special place (think padded walls) on the ship.

It was clear, just wondered how long this would go. LOL

If you guys want to make comments on the men as they walk by....welcome to join us!

Brooklyn...what a nice pic!

Thanks Stephaine and Joi - those larger pictures make it easier to see faces.

Dee - do you think we can do a Lanyard team meeting in the chat room? Do you need to be there or can you show me how to do it? I would like to have one this week.

Krisann

Lanyard team: Use http://chatroll.com/bound-for-barcelona2 to get to the chat room. It's the same chat room, but I did something weird to the sttings and now it won't let me fix it. You'll have to register at Chatroll.com to get into this chat room, I limited it to registered users only.

Just don't interfere with Survivor - Villains v Heroes!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Lynne ....way to wrap up the laughs! still laughing!

Lynne - As long as the padded room is on the Magic at Sea I am fine with that, but the way this is going it might need to be a very big room.:lmao: Thanks for the invite but I will pass on the men and children. Although I can make comments with the best of them.

I had a conference with dd7's teacher today about the fact that we'll be gone for 2 1/2 weeks. She wasn't really worried about the missed work at all, but we did ask her to let us know what concepts to work on. She agreed to put a small packet of math/phonics skills together and we'll do a photo journal and some reading related to the regions of Spain we are visiting. There are so many fun authentic learning opportunities, she wanted us to just roll with it.

I don't think she would have even bothered with the packet except I specifically asked if she would let us know what concepts/skills she might be missing while we are gone.

I love my child's teacher and school!

Here's a piece of fabric I bought in Hawaii. Karen (16) was quite excited when I showed it to her:

She wants to make a dress to wear on the cruise. :lmao:

Gorgeous fabric, Lynne. You'll appreciate my dh's shirts on the cruise; he inherited from his dearly-departed Dad a multitude of high-class Hawaiian shirts. dfil gave one to himself every year for Christmas. It was quite a thing to see about 40 of them (mostly in shades of blue - and to think that I never figured out that blue was his favorite color) all lined up in his closet! NOT LONG NOW!,

Let's give it up for teachers! Yay!

Didn't you post a list of related childerns list of books from Amazon on this DISboard? I was looking for it the other day and couldn't find it. Is there an easy way to tag a page or person's ID? Or could you re-post again?

Our DD7's teacher is also having her do a daily journal. We've also been renting children books related to Spain. (e.g El Matador) I've got to see if they have any children books related to Gibraltar. And we'll also have some daily Kumon math/reading homework too.

You can find the list of books on the website under "Misc., " one of the last pages.

:lmao:Of course you can! Everything you need is there! :thumbsup2

I should go have another look around come to think of it, I bet there's been some updating going on.

--- Does this mean dd7 CAN or CANNOT submit used stateroom magnets for partial credit in the photo journal?
