Hi everybody!

I got my excursions( barcelona and Gaudi and Jerez and Arcos de la Fronterra) and Palo dinner and brunch booked.

I still have to book our flight from Barcelona to London. Does anyone know what would be the earliest time I could get of the ship on the 24th and how long I actually could stay on the ship? I don't want to schedule a too early flight but I also don't want carry all my luggage all day through Barcelona.

Thanks for the breakdown of the FE's !....very helpful

I like the blue gold or black gold :)

I think I just live betwwen cruses LOL. I was thinking about my next booking.... I was thinking about doing back to back Dream in august 2011... 3 and 4 day.

Question? what do you do in between sailings? Do you have to get off the ship? does your stuff have to get off the ship?

this board is great but I am now now slighly obsessive LOL

Are you booked in the same cabin both cruises?

(From what I've read on the boards): if so, your luggage doesn't have to move. You will have to get off and then can board earlier than the new cruisers. What to do? Probably swim in the pools, relax.

OMG--I did not know that kids sail free on the MED cruise after ours. :thumbsup2 - mommyto3princesses

Don't forget - if you're lookin', you're bookin'. Turn your eyes away and get off that DCL website.

Good thing those airline tickets have a change fee, isn't it?

Lynne

Yay....Than I probabaly will do the back to back! ( I will book on cruise ...to get the credits and discount)

Alright HAVE to go to work LOL!

.....have agreat Time Aunt Lynne and thanks for all your help !

We are also booked on the next Med. cruise and according to Disney since we have the same cabin for both cruises we do not have to pack our things. But things change- I hope we don't have to pack up again.

Do we have a date for the Brunch on the TA?

First off, this thread is set up so well, thank you all very much!!

I might have missed how the lanyards are ordered, is someone taking care of the order and they are handed out on board and we pay then or do we pay ahead of time?

Couldn't we print out our own tag and have it laminated? am I missing a step?

I know there are alot of us staying at Country Inn and Suites, should we set up a precruise meet?? Maybe someone who has stayed there before can give us an idea of a good meeting place.

Ilike the black lanyard w/yellow letters....

I like it too!!!

Found the new tread:banana:

Hey Alex, how are you? Where are you staying the night before the cruise?

I know I posted this on the other thread and a few were interested in it so i thought I would add it here, not my design all credit goes to millipie on Creative dissigns thread, she also personalized it for me.

We don't do dress clothes and normally avoid eating in the dining room on formal night. I like to be comfortable and myself on vacation I guess I never thought that my clothing choices could offend others. Do people really think about what others wear that much?

YES! 2,300+ guests follow guidelines and rules for Safety Drill, No Smoking, No Flash Photography during shows, wait in line at proper times ... so I wonder why they would bypass them when it comes to dress. I can wear jeans and sneakers to Taco Bell or Applebees, but that does not mean it's appropriate for Smith & Wollensky steakhouse. Dress has an impact on the individual, as well as those around them, and is a sign of respect. It would not be appropriate to go to a wedding or funeral in shorts and sandals (though it would be comfortable). I would feel awkward if I took the time to dress in a tux or suit on formal night, only to sit next to a table of guests in shorts and sandals, while the servers are wearing tuxedo's (you get the idea).

On land, nice restaurants can and do refuse entry to individuals not dressed properly. It's a fine line to be refused entry to dinner while at sea, but I think it's only proper to at least make an effort to dress accordingly, especially when people are planning so much ahead of time for a cruise. Guests go to elaborate measures to dress for Pirate Night, so why not make a similar attempt to wear something nice for semi-formal and formal night? There are choices to be made everywhere. I believe a pair of dockers / khaki's, and a nice shirt would be a nice choice for a nice restaurant.

Couldn't have said it better myself! When I cruise with my son, I always make sure he dresses for dinner (slacks and a polo shirt for regular nights, Tux for formal / semi formal), including shoes (none of his beloved sneakers), and I always put on slacks / skirt and a blouse (dress / gown for semi-formal and formal). I consider it part of the charm of cruising -- you dress up for dinner. I also (like Steven) consider it a sign of respect to others.

Sorry, I'm with Ingrid on this one. We all shelled out a lot of money for this cruise and we all deserve to have fun, good food, etc. I for one don't want to bring too much extra baggage and I don't think it is unreasonable for people to wear what is comfortable for them. I don't judge others by their clothing and would expect the same respect from them. To me, how someone dresses (for dinner, breakfast, lunch or whatever) is a personal choice. And my choices don't necessarily match others'. For example, I rarely wear jeans, because I don't find them comforable. But my dress shoes aren't fancy, because of the shape of my feet. So on a cruise, they often are sandals (not flip flops).

I appreciate Steve's perspective, but it's one that isn't as common where I live, especially not among people with children. Most of the steakhouses around here are casual. Even in the fancier restaurants in town, including my private club, dress codes have been relaxed. People aren't always wearing jacket & tie or the equivalent, except for business meetings. When I dress for business, I dress for business. But that isn't vacation for me. Thanks to all for sharing their thoughts and perspectives, though.

P.S. Here is a big logistical request for everyone. Please stop quoting other messages in your replies, unless absolutely necessary. It clutters up the list and makes it far harder to stay caught up. Thanks so much!

Completly disagree. It seems to be so much easier when someone responds to something that they have quoted what they are responding to. Logistically it seems to make perfect sense to me to show other readers what you are talking about or responding to.

I think message boards are great for posting information, sharing ideas and expressing opinions. I for one though am not for telling someone what to do. I apprieciate you adding "please" at the beginning of your sentence but it followed by telling me to "stop quoting other messages unless absolutly necessary". That is not really your call. Just so you know when I am addressing someone or something someone has said I absolutly think it is neccessary to quote that person.

I like it too!!!...

LANYARDS: Gathering a group of about 10 (have 4 so far) who will purchase the lanyards to give as a FE/DISboard gift. [Cost of customized lanyard usually runs from $1-2 - and gathering all the money can be a headache. If you don't feel comfortable being gifted with one, we'll let you give us some money onboard.] We currently have about 184 in our group - some won't want a lanyard. Get ordered by the 100 - will probably order 200.

Krisann is actually in charge of lanyards, she has a contact for ordering them. I just jumped in (as I am prone to do; poor delegator) and started the ball rolling.

NAME TAGS: You can make your individual one, if you'd like, or you can wait until arrival at the terminal or the Meet & Greet (3:00 Promenade Lounge before the Life Boat Drill) to get one.

I will make all name tags unless instructed otherwise. Once I get in printing production mode, I can just change out the name in my document & print.

CRUISE EVE MEETS: Yes, Country Inn & Suites will be the happening place to be. I'm keeping the names off the website (for safety reasons - so many kids involved and who's watching us?).

LANYARD COLOR: Make sure you vote for the one you like best.

:confused3 Oh but what if I can't decide? :confused3 Seriously, I can't figure out which one to chose! :rotfl2:

Thank you though for putting up the poll!

I know I posted this on the other thread...

If there is unfinished business or conversations, you'll just have to resume it here; don't feel bad that you seem to be repeating yourself - Any of us. And definitely any great ideas like your design.

I had to go with black & white. Goes with almost anything - less chance of a clash. And especially looks good when you lean back and consider it with the nametag hanging below it.

It is hard to decide, though.

I made it over from the other thread.

I think I've cut the Unfortgettable W. Madeira off my possible excursion list due to its length. It sounds great and all, but after all the freedom on the ship, I don't think I want to spend nearly 8 hours on a cramp bus. Think I'm going to do the Views and Parks.
