-Curious about how the MSEP was going to end.

To see pictures of the new Millionare attraction, and pics from the final MSEP, plus construction photos, check out my website.

To be very honest with you, the Main Street Electrical Parade is not a real favorite to me. The nightime entertainment that I think that is superior is Fantasmic! So when the year 2015 rolls around and when that attraction has its "Farewell performance", I will be heartbroken for its departure a whole lot more than the MSEP.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Not that I hate the parade, it does have the most memorable music up with "it's a small world" and "Carousell of Progress", but doesn't feel...how can I say this "dated"? Hopefully SpectroMagic amazes me when I see it for the first time this Saturday (4/7). If you happen to see a guy in a Minnie Mouse t-shirt that day (seriously!), 99.9% it will be me! Who is the only insane person to do that?

Moving on the what matters, my day in the parks. I woke up to get in at MK's park opening. Since I heard that they were going to release a new pin commemorating the final performance, I had to go there to cash in. I'm sorry to the collectors that are in it for pride, but if you are short on money and you know you can peddle a 3000 LE pin on eBay for some cash, I wouldn't waste that oppourtunity!

For about nearly an hour, I paitently waited my turn to get my chance. The hardcore collectors were out in full force and I overheard others would make a mad dash to the other parks for the other LE's. Man, isn't the world of Disney pin collecting fast and furious? If I had more money, I would buy one of those pin bags, but noooo, the bean counters want to charge $50 for it. Carrying those things on your neck is a pain in the...

For some odd reason, I am always compelled into returning stuff to WDW. I did this back when I only had The Disney Store and I continue the tradition. This time, I had to return some bean bags that I didn't like anymore. Here is a little known secret: you can return any thing purchased from a Disney theme park to the Disney Store for a refund! So, kids if you short on money or want that super huge Minnie plush (Like I want to have one day! Please send a donation of this gift to Quentin Disney, UCF P.O. Box...file that in "never"!, don't hesitate to do it.

I found a cute (guys don't say "cute" that often!) Minnie T-shirt that had a "netural" color-red. It has various Minnies of the past up to today. Keep in mind, I'm a guy, as pink and the Y-chromosome doesn't mix, at least with me! So I gleefully purchased the shirt right away. So much for saving money...

I went on mostly the Frontierland attractions, Big Thunder and Splash and JC (No Steve to be found). I think Thunder runs better later in the day than morning due to the lubricant on the steel softening. Anyway, midday, I leave the Kingdom and head for MGM. Since I wanted to converse gas and wear and tear on my car (I'm going to driving this thing back to L.I. for the summer!), I took the bus down there. Entering the studios, the "hat" is not having any progress at all. Still at one "ring" like two weeks ago.

Since I heard on the internet that Millionare was softing now, I decided to head over there. FP'd Rockin' since the line is always long as hell. I ate at Pizza Planet before the next Millionare show which was around 1:15pm. Another thing when waiting on line for food, look for the shortest line possible! The handicapped line is often almost ignored. I though that I wasn't supposed to be on that line, but a CM directed me there. Waiting on line for Millionare, I talk with a few people, including an 18-year old Pregnant girl who was at 8 months. I'm not trying to hook up with her, I was just curious! I felt her stomach and smiled, wishing her good luck.

I then call Justin on my celly and inform him about my website problems. If you have been reading on the rumors board, the people at Geocities decided for some reason to delete my entire page! I got near insanity trying to get it back online with a new provider. Having done sites on them since '96 before the Yahoo! merger, they have become increasingly corporate. From the days of pop-ups, it all went downhill.

Oh! I forgot about the attraction! After everone is seated, we find Regis waiting to host on the big screen TV's. Someone informs him that he needs to go back to New York and host the real thing! So off with his plane tickets he goes. Really cheezy, but hey, its Disney, what did you expect. The game is like this. You are competting against 600 other people for the hot seat. You answer the questions just like on Enhanced TV at abc.com. The fastest and correct average will get a chance to go to the hot seat. If you should be in the seat, its all like the show, only points instead of cash. You do get pins, hats and shirts as you go along.

The only differences between the show and the attraction is that you have a time limit (it varies, longer on the higher ones). The real deal in NYC will have contestants taking up to 20 minutes to answer a question! Of course, that is edited for TV. You also can't call your relatives back home, you will call a "complete stranger" (lots of giggles for that!) from either the backstage tour or in front of the FP terminals. The female host really tried to act like Regis so hard, it was funny. I wish they could act on their own a la the Jungle Cruise skippers. Overall, this attraction is certainly not up with ToT or Rockin', but a soild C or D attraction that will be different every time you go on. The imagineers did a great job in capturing the atmosphere that the show is famous for. When the attraction opens, I advise that you use FP during high attendance times (Like Easter). It might be almost a must to use it.

Oh!, I almost forgot about the ToT DIS meet! I almost never made it. Shortly after exiting the Hollywood Tower, none other than TennVolTony spots me! He then introduces me to some other DISers. Ovbiously, I wasn't wearing my ribbon. Usually I count on my GOH badge for blatant attention. More people are starting to notice me in the parks. Not long ago, a kid I knew from High School doing the college program spotted me! I don't recall every single DIS member attending, but I love you all. I know for a fact that Buggin' was there. That's all I can get from the top of my head. We all got a picture of us on the tower! I tried to make a funny face, but the forces of gravity shook me out of it a bit.

Forwarding to the MSEP. This is it! The F I N A L night! People began lining up as early as 4pm for the 8:15p showing. I looked for the RADP group. I usually lurk the group since I don't have a NG account, but those guys are HARDCORE. I met one lady who had custom designed her mouse ears with curly bows, lights and Mickey's wand. Also Deb Willis was there. I read her site all the time and it was pretty neat to see her. I didn't expect that.

I saw both performances and the last one was pretty downhearted to see. I didn't cry of course (I do that during "Fantasy in the Sky!" when "Second Star to the Right" hits.), but eventually, even though it not my favorite, I did feel sad for its departure. Me and many others followed the parade to the bitter end, all the way to Frontierland. Another Disney classic bows down. If you are from the Disneyland side, you might want to hear what Pete was saying about going "To California". Hmmm...

I'm sorry, but had to play the Baroque Hoedown on my PC! Chessy, yet emotional!

Farewell!

Thanks for the pictures. The millionaire set looks just like the real thing. Are the questions asked all related to Disney?

The before you get to the 32,000 point plateau, they are all Disney-related, usually varies from film and theme parks. In my eyes, they seem pretty simple to me. A lot of people were doing the blurting out the questions that one person got stumped by. The host discourages that type of stuff, unfortunlately, whenever I see a "Duh!" question on T.V., I am always compelled to yell the answer at poor sap in the hot seat while he or she is pondering what it is.

You may have an urge to do that at MGM, trust me. :D
