My husband and I are contemplating a short trip minus our kids possibly from Jan 20th to the 24th or 25th. How are the crowds during this time? This is the week after MLK day. What events are happening??? etc.

We went 2 years ago at this time and the crowds were fairly low. The longest we ever waited for a ride was 20 min, for BTMR. While there weren't many "walk-on" rides, I don't recall waiting more than 5-10 min for most of the major rides. We are going this January from the 23-30, and the crowd callendar at touring plans is pretty low; I'd expect similar levels for your dates.

this is the time of year we go and only one time have we ever ran into crowds

and it so happened to be that there was a cheer leading contest at disney during that time

as of today disney shows no events on there calander for those days

we will be there from the 14th to the 23rd this year

We're going at the end of January to avoid the crowds. In exchange we're wiling to miss some things since that's prime refurb time. We knew Splash Mountain would be down but learned the castle, and Living with the Land are on the list. You may want to check the refurbishment schedule if you have a 'can't miss'.

Where does one find the refurbishment schedule? The only place I see operational updates is on the daily calendar and I've only seen SM listed.

Thank you. We are going 1/14-20 so this thread is of interest to me also. Can work around some of the closures but not Splash Mountain. Taking several Great Nieces & Nephew who have never been (and believe they will never get there).

They have off Mon. 1/18-Wed. 1/20 so we're making a week out of it. I expect the crowds on the weekend and Mon. to be heavy but hope we can make some good time the other days.

you may want to make sure if that is a deal breaker. The schedule shows it being closed.
