Input please--should we go to Disneyworld the third week of December (week right before Christmas) or the last week of August (not the fifth week, which runs into September, but the fourth week, the last full week of August)?

Thank you for your thoughts. Input on crowds, lines, weather, appreciated.

Go the third week of December. The decorations throughout WDW are absolutely beautiful. No two places are the same. We stayed at WL the first week in December and everyday there were more decorations out. I can't say enough about visiting during the holiday season. It's truly magical. As far as weather, when we were there, the weather was warm enough to go swimming during the day. In the evening it was cool-sweatshirt weather. Don't remember the crowds being a problem.

We've also visited that same week in August and would not do it again. It was extremely hot and humid. We were there for 10 days and the humidity was unbearable. If you do go, it's really important to stay hydrated -- drink lots of water. My DH got dehydrated. That was no fun.

Without question, I'd go in December.

December -- unless you like the heat. :Pinkbounc

Definitely the 3rd week in Dec. We like to go the 2nd or 3rd week and it's a great time to go. All the Christmas things are going on also.

Third week of December it is then. The Christmas decorations are not really important to us--I'm more concerned about the weather and the crowds. I understand August is really hot, so it doesn't sound as appealing to me. December is temperate, not freezing I hope? Also, one of the busiest time of the year is between Christmas and New Year. So I'm hoping during the week BEFORE Christmas, the parks won't be crowded. Are they?

I have also been curious to see what crowds are like the week before Christmas. We have reservations for MLK week, but if the crowds are bearable the week before Christmas, I would love to do that instead! Any information on this would be very appreciated.

I was there in 2001 from Dec 13 to 23rd and it was not busy at all but that was right after 9/11. The weather varies a lot in December. That year it was very warm-80's most days. Last year it was a lot colder so be prepared for anything.
