Its been 12wks since my last, another 6wks before that.
Doc wants to see if my 3 ovarian cysts have changed size. They hadnt during those 6wks btwn the 1st & 2nd ultrasound.
Wonder if this time he'll schedule their removal or set up a 4th ultrasound.

I've been doing the ultrasound route for an ovarian cyst for nearly 2 years now. I have one every 3-4 months. It started at 7cm, went down to 3cm, and is now back up over 4cm. It only bothers me at certain times of the month, but when it does..YEOUCH!!! Sometimes I wish they would just take it out, but then I think about surgery and recovery and figure I'll deal with it.

Good luck. I hope you're better soon. I've had many cysts. One I had removed and the recovery was long. The others ruptured on their own - talk about pain  - but it was over pretty quick.

I've been there too. I had surgery 2 years ago, but it went smoothly and the recovery was relatively quick. I had a laparoscopy. I had 3 cysts on my left ovary, one of which was an endometrial cyst. My ovary was enlarged to 3 times its normal size. It hurt a lot worse to leave it in than take it out! I had close to 4 months of almost constant pain with it worsening each month until they finally took out the ovary. I felt better immediately.

Good luck!

Good Luck to you!

My sister could write the book on this one! So, I can sympathize with you!

Hope they go away on their own; but if not hope you have a speedy recovery!

Been there, done that! I have polycystic ovarian syn. and have had them removed 10 times and have had a couple rupture. I keep begging my Doc to take the ovaries out---no such "luck"!

going in Sept 1st to have the cysts taken by laparoscopy
Doc will do a D&C the same time

two stayed the same, 1 got slightly larger - they arent dissolving on their own

Tmli, ditto with the PCOS. I am greatful to have had it though because during one of my routine ultrasounds, a "true" tumor was found growing on my ovary. I had it removed (it turned out to be malignant) and had a complete hysterectomy as well. No chemo or radiation needed since it had not spread beyond the ovary at all. PCOS used to be a "pain in the ovary" but it actually saved my life.

Good Luck with your procedure, newholiday. I find it takes a couple of days but you'll be feeling better in know time.

You know, goodstarr, I have often said that if God forbid I ever had a tumor it would be discovered rather quickly since I have so many ultrasounds and procedures. I think my doc has seen my ovaries more than he's seen my face!! I am really glad things worked out for you the way they did.
