3rd Time's the Charm!? A 2014 PTR *NEW 11/21!*

I was out of town all of last week (total of nine days) and missed your update.

Your daughter is simply beautiful and I love the photo of her with her Minnie ears.

Congrats again!

Thank you Kathy! I have started reading back up on one of your reports, but haven't finished yet. I will be commenting soon!

I missed the update too! So sorry about that. She is just gorgeous. Eric had reflux, I am sorry to hear you are dealing with it. They do outgrow it!

Thank you!! I am really hoping that she does grow out of it, and most kids do. But my DH has reflux pretty bad, so there is a chance that she will just get it from him. She seems to be doing much better on her medications, which is most important to me.

She is just adorable! What a lovely picture! Once again - Congratulations!

Thank you!! I knew that you guys would all appreciate the Minnie ears!

I will have another update soon! I've been really busy, but there are a few things I'd like to update in here. I hope that everyone is doing well!

Good morning everyone! Happy hump day!

I am getting some more free time now that my semester at school is winding down. All I have left is 2 papers and 1 final exam and then I'm finished for this semester. I have to take one more course in the spring (I'm hoping to get into this one class that is all done online) and then I will have my degree!

We have been discussing the trip quite a bit lately (well at least my mom and I have been!) My aunt and uncle aren't going to stay at BLT, which led my mom to thinking about her stay at BLT, which led me to thinking about mine. My mom doesn't want to stay in the villa on her own because it is just too expensive if you don't have the people to fill it. And the whole point of staying there was to stay in a villa so she would have a kitchen and could save on food. So she is now considering moving them to POFQ.

As far as DH and I go, I am thinking of changing from BLT as well. I would really love to stay there, but I think that we need to do something cheaper for this trip. I have been off from work for 11 weeks now and have yet to receive 1 penny of my maternity benefits. DH is in school for 8 weeks right now to finish up his apprenticeship, so we've had to dip into the savings a bit. We don't have a lot of time to save up before November, and I don't want to blow through a bunch of the savings, so I am thinking that it might make more sense to stay somewhere else.

DH still really wants to stay at WL (and of course I would love to stay there too) but I am also considering POFQ. I've never stayed there and all of my family loves it.

My mom has talked to our travel agent, and we are going to go see her after they release any discounts or free dining and then we will make a final decision.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My grandparents just came back from Florida, and of course they brought Evelyn a bunch of stuff!

She got quite a bunch of clothes (some that fit her now, some for a bit later)

She got her own Minnie Mouse stuffy, a pair of sunglasses, fancy socks, a headband... here's a picture of all the cuteness

She also got her this outfit that should fit her perfectly on our trip, and I love it so much

Is it bad that I want to get out the suitcases and start packing already??:rotfl2:

We are only about a month and a half away from being able to choose our ADRs, so things are finally starting to pick up!

Oh my...I can't stand the cuteness of the goodies brought by grandma and grandpa for your little angel. They are wonderful. :goodvibes

With POFQ, you have to be careful. They often aren't included in the "offers" because it is such a small resort and then when they do offer, it is very limited.

But smart move onyour part to downsize a bit for this trip.

The great-grandparents definitely did some good shopping. :) And your comment is exactly the dilemma we are having in trying to choose a resort! Once the offers are released and we can figure out what everything will cost, I will be able to make a better decision.

That outfit is adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WL would be a great fit I would think and certainly would be less than BLT, and depending on promo's maybe not much more than POFQ.

YAY for planning!

That outfit is super cute! I miss when my kids were little and let me dress them in whatever I wanted them to wear! ;)

Nothing wrong with doing the room shuffle. Both POFQ and WL are great resorts and if they put a little money back in your wallet than why not.

No - it is NEVER wrong to want to get out the suitcases early! ;)

I second this! The reason we stayed at WL when we did was because once the discounts came out, it was discounted so much in comparison to the moderates that it made a lot of sense to upgrade for not too much extra money. The problem is... you just have to wait to see what kind of discounts they end up putting out there before you really know. Wouldn't hurt to book a room at POFQ, if that's your number one moderate choice, and then just change again when you see discounts released. :confused3

It is cute, isn't it? My grandma sure knows how to pick them! It will be interesting to see what happens once they release the offers. I would really love to stay at WL, and that is DH's top pick for this trip (even about MK view at BLT!). Only time will tell, but I am definitely getting excited about finally being able to start planning :)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I am definitely enjoying this baby stage, but wow do they ever grow up fast!

Thank you :) I'm a planner and like having things sorted out, so I'm not a huge fan of the room shuffle but you have to do what you have to do lol And I like the way you think about suitcases! I usually have mine out months in advance and start throwing in things that I won't need until my trip.

I agree, it is all just a waiting game right now. But thankfully, we don't have to wait too much longer to see what they are offering. I told my mom that we should book dummy rooms at POFQ just in case, but we haven't actually done it.

Oh my goodness, the goodies and most especially that outfit are absolutely way too adorable!! Good job to your grandparents!
I can't comment much on the hotels since I've never stayed in any of the ones in consideration, but I'm always for saving some money if it works out well.

Thanks :) I agree that saving money is always good - and I know that I'm going to want to bring quite a bit of spending money for buying Evelyn cute things!

I have started to get myself caught up on your report, but I've still got a bit to go. Your photos are gorgeous!

Happy Weekend!!!

I wrote my final exam for the semester last night, woohoo!!:cool1: I am enrolled in an online course for the spring term that will finally complete my degree. It feels so amazing to be this close.

There are also unofficial November hours up now so I can finally make some preliminary plans! I'm very excited.

My current trip dilemma is work related. I have not gone back to work yet, and while we are entitled to a year off in Canada, I don't know if we'd be able to save enough for the trip unless I go back to work - since we both went to school and had tuition to pay and all of the extra expenses when the baby came. I have daycare in place - it's what my mom does. But DD is breastfed and refuses to take bottles. She gets herself so worked up when I leave her for a few hours to go to class I don't know how I'd manage a whole work day. Also, depending when I go back to work, and if I start a new job I don't know if I'll be able to get time off in November. Lots to think about!

I will post again when I come up with some preliminary plans to see what everyone thinks :)

Speaking from someone who had to go back to work 3 months after both my kids were born, I say enjoy your year off and make the most of it. It goes by so fast and your little one changes SO much in that first year. Enjoy every minute of it!

Yay for finishing your exam last night! :thumbsup2

You have some very wise words! DH and I talked about it and he said that if we can do it financially, he would love for me to stay home longer with Evelyn. So we will see! They do grow up so fast!

Congrats on getting your last exam done.

I am sure you will make the right decision when the time comes. I regret not staying home longer with my boys, but I had my dad who was their caregiver and I had a great boss who understood when I needed "a day" off with them.

Thanks Kathy! I'm sure we will figure something out. We really need a vacation, we haven't gone on one together since our honeymoon in 2010, and DH has been working a lot of hours. So we will do what we need to do to get there!

It's great that you had family to care for your boys and an understanding boss - that makes a huge difference. My mom owns a daycare so I am extremely lucky to have her to take care of Evelyn when I do go back to work. It is someone who we are both comfortable with and there are other kids around for her to play with.

Hooray for final exams!! So happy for you being so close to your degree.
I hope that you are able to easily work out a good solution with the trip. How wonderful that your mom owns a daycare, that must take a good chunk of pressure off!

Thank you, it feels great to be so close :) And it is so great to have my mom, much less stress on me!

Congrats on finishing up school for a few months! That's got to be nice, not having to deal with class and homework while taking care of a newborn.

I'm kind of fortunate in the fact that I get to stay home with Landon, but it does make me have to be very creative with a monthly budgets. (Plus, Landon's like little E and wouldn't take a bottle.) So, I completely get why you are having a hard time deciding what to do.

I will say, around when Landon turned 11 months, I was ready to leave him with my mother and get back out in the work force. A year is kind of the perfect length of time. You get to see them grow up, but by that year mark they are much more independent than you'd imagine.
That being said, you gotta be able to clothe and feed them, so I get why going back to work might be necessity. :rotfl2: I would just look at what your finances would be if you didn't return and see if there's anything misc. you could give up and still maintain the life you like. If not, and if you don't think you'd be happy not working, then I'd return to work.

It's really your call in the end, though.
