Hello everyone, welcome to my pre trip report. My name's Tom, I live in Long Island, NY, and i'll be visiting WDW for the third time in April of 2009. So here's a little background information:

Whos going:
Mom
Dad
Brother (age 13)
Sister (age 10)
Me (age 15)
My Grandma

When:

For 4 nights April 14-18.

Resort:
For the first time, we are staying offsite. My grandma has an awesome time share so that's where we are staying. It's called Tiki Village.

Transportation:

Originally, we were going to be driving to WDW. We have never driven so we thought it would be something cool to do. But my mom found good rates on Southwest so we are flying!

Next Entry: Dining!

Thanks for reading everyone! 64 days!

Even though we’re staying offsite, we’ll be dining on WDW property (for the most part.) Of course we’ll be doing a meal at Chef Mickey’s, one of my favorite places to eat on site. I haven’t made ADRs yet but here are some places I’m thinking of reserving:

For Dinner:
SciFi (at there last time, it was good)
Kona
???

For Lunch:
???

Suggestions please?

Hi everyone, happy monday.

I'd like your help with some dining reservations.

If you could give me a lunch and dinner dining suggestion, I'd really appreciate it! Just post them here. Thanks!

RANDOM FACT OF THE DAY
* Kodak estimates that approximately 4 percent of all the amateur photographs taken in the United States are snapped at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland.

Next Entry: WDW on an ECV (scooter.) Look for it Tuesday!

Hi, Tom (same name as my dad - I like you already!)

We're going Mar 14-21 and have 2 ADR per day. Generally they're breakfast and dinner. Exceptions being Mama Melerose at 3:35 for Fantasmic dinner package and La Cellier at 11something because we couldn't get it any other time.

We're doing the Deluxe Dining Plan. So we're planning on eating very well.

Here's the straight-to-the-point list (in order without times and dates):
Tusker House breakfast
Spirit of Aloha
Playhouse Disney breakfast at Hollywood and Vine
Mama Melrose lunch
Ohana breakfast
Tutto Italiana dinner
Chef Mickey breakfast
Cinderella's Royal Table dinner
La Cellier lunch
Chefs de France dinner
1900 Park Faire breakfast
Jiko dinner
Akershus (Norway) breakfast
Teppan Edo dinner

We will have between 4 and 7 credits left to use for CS/TS still and, of course, snack credits too. I forget how many snacks/day we get.

Where we've eaten before and recommendations:
-Cindy's for breakfast twice before. Highly recommend it. All you can eat, but not buffet. Just ask for more. Very accommodating to our demanding toddler's unpredictable appetite.
-1900 Park Faire breakfast. Delicious.
-La Cellier for dinner. Best meal ever.
-Chefs de France for dinner. We were on tight budget that year and had only soup and shared an entree. It was great.
-Akershus for dinner. Very good. Interesting desserts, good salad/appetizer bar thingy.
-Crystal Palace for dinner. Buffet food at slightly above average buffet quality.
-CS in MK, AK, Epcot. All pretty much equal to each other. Fast food quality.
-Brown Derby for lunch. Above average "California-style" food for Florida. Expensive for what you get.
-Restaurantosaurus (closed now, sorry) for breakfast. Buffet. Good breakfast, but not our favorite one.

I hope your family has a wonderful time - how could you not?

I hope to use some insomnia to do a few more pre-trip and trip reports.

I've begun a pre-trip report. Since I'm new, I can't post a link, so just search for posts under my id: DisneyGalAlways

G'night Tom. It's late, here in Alabama.

I look forward to reading more of your PTR.

Hello everyone! Its Tuesday! 62 days until i'm in Disney!

Today I'd like to talk about WDW on an ECV. My grandma has had two hip replacement surgeries and at times the walks around the parks could prove to be too much for her. We may get her an ECV for some of the days that we are there. I have to ask; What are your experiences with being on an ECV or with someone who was on one? Were they looked down on as I sometimes hear?

I think she might be hesitant to ride one because it might make her "look old" but we are exploring it because we don't want her to be in extreme pain during the vacation.

Thanks everyone! Keep this dining suggestions coming!

Next Entry: Toy Story Mania!

See ya tomorrow!

UPDATE COMING TONIGHT

Hi everyone! We’re half way through the week! I’d like today to talk about Toy Story Mania (TSM.)

Last time I was in WDW TSM wasn’t built. Its exciting to try out a new attraction, and I hear its better than Buzz Lightyear, which is personally one of my favorite attractions. I am pumped for this new ride.

Also last time we were in WDW (Aug 07) the Haunted Mansion was being remodeled so it was completely shut down. I hear they did an awesome job re doing it and am really excited to see the new attraction.

TOMORROW:A look at the resort.

Happy Friday! Sorry for the delay, its been crazy! Without further ado, here's todays segment!

Liki Tiki Village is a time share resort.
LTV_unitexterior.jpg

It has a water park area.

LTV_unitexterior_alt.jpg

The rooms have a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchenette.

It looks extremely nice. I think its only a 5-10 minute ride from WDW. I've never stayed offsite before so i'm nervous as to whether I will "lose the magic" that is preserved when you stay on WDW property.

We'll see!

59 DAYS!

Hello everyone! It's Sunday! No school this week so that should be nice. :)
Today I'd like to ask youabout your next trip to Disney.

Where are you staying and when are you going??

Enjoy your day everyone!

Look for a new post: Tomorrow!

Nice. Thought I'd bring it to page 2!

Whoo. Thanks. :P

No school THIS WEEK??? Lucky! I only have Monday off! But, it's better than having school all week.
On our next trip to Disney we'll be staying at the AKL Villas with a Savannah view (yes, i must write that everytime somebody asks.) We're going August 27th through September 6th. A last hurrah before Becca and I start High School.

Yeah. Its our Feb. break. And the next break we get is a week in April for Easter.

Sounds fun. I hope you guys have a great time.

Heyy Tom, I'm here now =]

We're not going back til...well, I have no clue when. We went in August last year, stayed at POR. 6 nights, 7 days woohoo!

As for TSM, it's REALLY good. Go first thing in the morning. Don't get a Fastpass right away (that line tends to be longer than the ride line!). Just go on in and enjoy! On August 20, 2008 we waited maybe 35 minutes first thing in the morning. The 3D is cool, and the games are fun. The queue is super-cool, lots of things to look at.

As for restuarants, my personal favorites are:

Magic Kingdom:

Counter Service-

Columbia Harbour House--Liberty Square
Pecos Bill Cafe--Frontierland

Table Service-

Crystal Palace! Crystal Palace! Crystal Palace!

Epcot:

Counter Service-

Sunshine Seasons Food Faire--The Land
Cantina de San Angel--Mexico

Table Service-

Rose & Crown--U.K.

MGM:

Counter Service-

Don't really eat counter service here...past few trips have been table service and snacks only.

Table Service-

50's Prime Time Cafe
Mamma Melrose

AK:

Counter Service-

I LOVED the old Tusker House CS but now it's a table service :(
Flame Tree Barbeque is good, though

Other:

1900 Park Faire--Grand Floridian
O'hana--Poly
Chef Mickey's--Contemporary
Rainforest Cafe--DTD (Marketplace)
Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace...by far the BEST counter service)
