3rd paycheck in the month

I hear you :thumbsup2! When DH was employed we budgeted around 2 monthly cks and just loved those 2 months he got xtra pay cks free and clear!! Since his retirement 10 yrs ago we've had to learn to budget on a monthly fixed income, with times tough for so many, we praise God we have managed w/o any problems thus far. :goodvibes

sure helps when it occurs twice a year, but it always makes me look at the checking balance and think I forgot to pay something. :goodvibes

:cool1:
I love this!!! No, it's not "free money", but when we normally have two checks per month it makes it seem like an extra check, twice a year!:yay:

I am in the education field and get paid once a month, 10 months a year. I do the 12 month salary option, where a portion of my check is taken out, so I can get paid each month.

Our school district just changed its calendar, so now, instead of the 10 months being September-June, it will be August-May.

I get an "extra" months pay ithis August-I have my regular "extra" check, plus the start of the next years pay schedule.

This will only happen once, but it sure seems like extra money to me!

I've never had a job like that but my sisters do and I know they loved it! Of course it's not "free" but it felt like it to them!!

For us, it's the opposite...months with 31 days, depending on how the paydays fall, make it like 17 or 18 days between paydays. HATE THAT LOL! (we get paid 1st and 15th)

Oooh...I forgot about that this month. Not a bunch of "extra" money for me either because I budget including those checks, but there is no insurance taken out so there will be some extra. The only time I get excited about how much I pay for insurance. LOL

paid 1x per month here...makes those 31 day long months rough toward the end.

OMG, is that true! I am a teacher and some months they pay us early for some reason. It was nice to get paid on June 22, but now the next pay day is July 30.:scared1:

I call that extra check my "play-check"!!!

I know it is not free money, but I have all my bills budgeted in the usual 2 checks per month. That extra check twice each year is just for me........and I do look forward to it1

We get paid bi-weekly, but all expenses except the mortgage are paid for monthly. Thus, when you have months like this where there are three paychecks, it seems like an extra check. The bonus for us (sort of) is that we just did a refi on our house and our next payment won't come out until mid-August. So not only will the last July paycheck be a bonus (no deductions) we also won't have a mortgage payment out of that one. Yeah, I know long-term that means our new mortgage runs two weeks longer, but short term it feels like found money. :thumbsup2 Into savings it goes!

I agree with those who said that while it may not be free money, it sure seems like it.

I used to work at a job that gave me 26 paychecks per year, while my current job gives me 24. I definitely planned my budget around getting paid twice per month, and loved those two extra paychecks per year.

I'm sure I could do the same thing now...plan a yearly budget based on 22 paychecks rather than 24, but the other situation seemed so much more natural!

I've been salaried for many years but our salaried system is 26 bi-weekly periods. I love it when an extra pay period falls during a month. Our next one is in October.

I love three payday months!! To me the third payday is an extra so it accounts for non-budgeted freebies! DH and I both get them at different times so I love those months.
