3rd Party Excursions

I'm curious as to people's experience booking excursions through a third party company (rather than through DCL). Basically, we're fairly novice cruisers (one four day DCL cruise for experience) who are looking into into the different companies out there. What company did you use to book your excursion, and would you recommend them?

(BTW...We're on the Western Cruise June 17 on the Magic, in case you were wondering )

The best way to find reliable non-Disney sponsored excursions is from recommendations here (and cruise critic). We used Captain Marvin's in Grand Cayman and they were wonderful! I would highly recommend.

We are booking Eagle Ray Dives in Coz. This company has had many great reviews here and on other boards.

We used Shoretrips.com for our Rhino Rider excursion in St. Martin. I'd recommend it (especially since Disney CL booked the same excursion)

Thanks ! We've looked into shoretrips.com a bit, and they've got some interesting excursions, but since we're still fairly new to this whole cruise thing we weren't sure how reliable they were. Never heard of Captain Marvin's, so we'll have to check them out as well.

Now, I LOVE my DIS, but the cruise critic board has lots of information for many destinations and I find it a very valuable tool when planning excursions.

We used Nativeway for Stingray City when we were in Grand Cayman last month, great trip.

Cruise Critic is the best! Love all the port info we have found on it.
We never use the cruise lines tours. You get more for your money and less people on most tours using private companies.
We just used The Native Choice for our ruins tour this past week on the Western Magic. This was in Costa Maya. Our friends used Moby Dick tours for their sting ray excursion on Grand Cayman. We rented scooters through Lerits'a on Grand cayman, it was only $30.00 for four hours!
