3rd Gate?

Candy Mountain, sounds like an interesting idea for a ride attraction. I had not heard of it before. Glad that you mentioned it, thank you... It sounds tasty too. ;) :)

Here is an Al Lutz article about the possible additions of E-ticket attractions in Disneyland after the DCA makeover.
http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al010510a.htm

That is good stuff, though I don't know how they come up with the ride cap numbers of ten. The last five times I've been there I put in about 20-25 attractions which means some people are really taking it easy.

I had read an excerpt of that same article regarding priority seating/standing for WoC.

LULUSAPPLE: I think you are thinking of DL in Tokyo, side streets from Main St?

If they could submerge the product distribution on the East side of main street they may be able to use some of the backstage area to create another attraction, but first they have to utilize all the buidlings in Tomorrowland. It's sad that Star Tours is down for rehab, EO is temporary, The north building is not a real attractions, the people mover is gone. Plus the building for Space Mountain is huge and the ride occupies just half of the space.

Disney has trouble shuttling guest from 3rd park to Disneyland. They cant connect a monorail across harbor since its not "Disney" owned. + there are a ton of hotels in the way...

I think if they wanted a monorail across harbor they could do it. Let me explain. First if you check a current map look at the West side of the park. You'll notice that Disneyland Dr. goes through it and it was once called West Drive. Not only that it comforms in a few ways to Disney's property. It goes under the DTD walkway and has a few overpasses going into the Mickey and Friends Garage.

Further on Harbor the power lines cross the road but where rerouted around the old parking area. There is a large right of way following these lines down Disney Way to the East of the park across where they are planning to build the next garage.

I think if disney wanted to extend of build a second loop of the monorail it could. It's more down to money than access.

Plus I have heard rumor after rumor that Anahiem wants to build a highspeed rail line down Katella from the Train Depot which is next to the Angels Stadium. This would bring people to DLR and the convention center.

Of course as things progress that latest world is California will get high speed rail and Anahiem will get a new station for this and that where this Katella line would start.

nah,
"covered walkways" discovery arcade DLParis
here's from project tracker on miceage :goodvibes

Details: Inside sources report a new themed arcade is being considered for the east side of Main Street, USA. The themed indoor throughfare would help ease crowd flow when overflow crowds are exiting the park during peak seasons and following fireworks and parade performances.
Project Status: Under consideration.
Open Date: Unknown

That's interesting. I've often heard the tip in WDW that you go through the shops on the west side of Main Street to exit after the Fireworks. DL has the cafe that seperates the shops physically. While in WDW the stores are continuous.

Never tried that myself but it seems like while you would go faster you would walk twice as far going back and forth around displays.

I've heard that in one of the US parks they open doors and let people across the backstage area parallel to mainstreet on peak days.

I can see two sides to building an arcade for exits after shows. You loose the guest exposure to final sale opportunities. But putting up some themed walls as an extra walkway takes away some of the final memories of the park being a crowded disaster.

Speaking of an actual 3rd gate. I wonder if Disney had considered using the Angels parking lot at any time. I don't know, while they owned the Franchise, who owned that stadium or the parking lot.

Would Disney ever want to build on the other side of I5? Would they build in Garden Grove? Would Garden Grove even welcome them?

Does anyone from Anaheim or a nieghboring town know this?

This works at DL as well. (Shhh, don't tell anyone. :goodvibes It's our quick exit route.)

This has been done at Disneyland on days when the park is near capacity, at the end of the night. Some here on DIS have reported being route through backstage.

I think you are asking about this in terms of extra parking? Disney has sometimes used the convention center parking lot (next to what is now Toy Story lot). I personally do not know of them ever using Angels Stadium. Convention center is closer.

No, I mean devloping the parking lot next to the stadium. Disney was at one time the owner of the team, or the angels franchise if you prefer. But in some cases the sport team does not own the facilities that it occupies.

There has been a lot of redevelopment to the east of I-5 indicating that those lands were at one time a buying opportunity for investment. But disney didn't grab any which makes me think it may not want to cross I-5.

Because Disney and Anaheim have a mutual benificial relationship I don't know that Disney would expand South to Garden Grove.
