3oth August 2007 wonder anyone going?

Hi Just wondering if there are any of you cruising on the 3 day Wonder cruise on August the 30th.;
This will be our 2nd cruise and we are getting so excited about it.
We are a family of four, Hubbie, two daughters 10 & 11 and myself. We are from the U.K. so are in desperate need of some sun!!
Anyway all aboard if your travelling too, would love to hear from you.

I see from your signature that you have stayed at the POR , we are there for the first time this year so any info or tips would be great.

We loved POR. There's something about the landscaping on the Bayou side that evokes swampy wilderness perfectlly. It has beautiful quiet pools. When we were there it was that period where Mars was as close as it gets, and we went for a Mars-light swim. Glorious. Taking the boat to DTD is really cool, too. The ribs in the food court are really good as well. Are you staying Bayou or Mansions? We loved the Bayou section.

We have requested the Bayou section as it seems to be more us , if you know what I mean
We will be there prior to the cruise so should be ready to relax by the time we board the Wonder.
Even though we will have a car we are hoping to use the boat to Downtown Disney , I don't know much about the planets but your swim sounded magical.

I know what you mean about the Bayou section, no Mansions for us, either.

We're spending a week at the world pre-cruise ourselves - 5 nights camping, 2 nights YC. It's been 2.5 years between Disney trips, and that's way too long. I am really looking forward to this. I've already started the countdown. Every work day, I send DH an email with how many days it is to go, the high temperature for the day in Orlando, and a picture. The pictures narrate the plans for the trip, so currently we're still "driving down" and I'm sending him pictures of the mountains in Virginia.

Are you flying in to MCO? Or somewhere else and doing a bit of a road trip?

We will be flying into MCO and staying at the Hyatt at the airport, then the following day we will be picking up the car and driving down to Clearwater for a few days.
After that we will be coming up to RPR for 4 days, then onto a villa for 12 days , from there we will be going to POR then onto the cruise and then home
We have been waiting for ages for this trip and have made it a biggie as our eldest goes to big school in September and it will be harder to take her out of school time.

Your trip sounds fab I'd love to try the YC as we had a sneeky peek last time we were there and the camping sounds great fun.
What a brilliant idea sending your hubbie pics of your soon to come trip I might have to try that.

That sounds like a great trip. I see you've stayed at RPR before. I hope you're Loew's First members. It's a great program. We're not doing UO this summer, since we were just there in January. I love it there, though. Especially the Mummy and Duelling Dragons.

We're going to have to make this trip count, since we probably won't be back for another 2 years (although I'm hoping for Disneyland summer '08).

The great thing about camping is that it makes the 2 nights at YC possible. I just hope it doesn't spoil me for moderates, since we can't really afford a week at a deluxe. AKL was a special occasion, I turned 40, and wanted to put a positive spin on it.

Hi, Yep we really like the RPR and this year are staying Club.
On our last trip to Florida ,2005 my hubbie unfoutunately spent time in the Celebration Hospital as he was taken ill, so it put a little dampner on the trip .
This was his 40th treat as well , anyway due to having to juggle things around we couldn't do all the things we wanted so this trip we are pushing the boat out a little .
The Villa we are renting for the 12 days. we have rented before especially when we came out with our family, it works out really cheap and you have all the comforts of home and a pool and jacuzzi ( well not like our little country cottage !!)
Your houses are sooooo big and beautiful we feel very spoilt when we stay in them.
It also gives us the oppourtunity to shop at Publix and stuff ourselves on Lays sour cream and chive crisps I mean chips !! and there amazing Carrot cake , Amongst other things.
We to would love to stay at a Deluxe but we can just get so much more for our money if we stop in a villa .
Anyway the best bit is going to be that cruise, we can not wait and like I said hopefully Hubbie will be able to relax and chill this time.

Seems like some introductions are in order. We are myself (42), DH (44) and DS(16). We are from Toronto, and will be driving down, starting the 3rd week in August. For money, I'm a software developer and DH is in customer service. Our hobbies include travel, reading, and bike-riding. We are mostly harmless.

Well I think introductions are a good idea.
Hubbie is 42 and works for Royal Mail, I am 37 and work as a learning Mentor in a primary school (3-11) and we have 2 girls who are 11 and 10.
We all love to travel and holidays play a big part in our lives, wether it be a weekend , a week , or if were lucky longer. our eldest is especially mad about football she plays in the county squad and both girls playfor a local team . so I guess football plays a big part in our lives ( not that I understand it all, I leave the real footie to my hubbie and girls)
I like to cook and bake and the rest of the family like to eat!! We all like to listen to music ,all kinds.
We too are very harmless in training!!

So, what part of the cruise are you looking forward to most? I know it's a short one, but I can't wait to get back to Castaway Cay. Last time, my snorkelling got cut short because I got stung by those things that live in seaweed. I'm sure the odds are against it happening again, and I love snorkelling. Don't tell my family, but we're probably going to rebook again while we're onboard.

Hi Ladies
I don't know how I missed this thread earlier, I've searched and didn't see one until the other thread was started a few days ago. But it's very nice to know that there will be a few other DISers on this cruise.

As an introduction - I'll be turning 40 on this cruise, I'm a high school math teacher, travel agent, and help my DH (41) run his company (sales). We live in the south and are fortunate enough to make several trips to see the mouse each year, so this trip is for DH and myself only.

Our trip will be a "quickie" as we are only doing the cruise and then flying back home - no parks. I'm very envious of the long trips y'all will be taking!!

I recently booked a Palo's dinner and a couples message that I'm really excited about. What do y'all have booked? Any excursions?

None whatsoever. We're bringing our snorkeling gear for Castaway Cay, but we'll probably just wander around Nassau for a little bit. After a week at WDW, I think we'll mostly just want to relax.

Hi, golly it's been a while since I checked in!!
School has been hetic these last few weeks, I have been boged down with evaluations etc, so sorry I've not been around to catch up.
Anyway great to see we have a few more fellow cruisers
We can't wait and are counting down the days.
