3night/Surprise Cruise but have a ?

There is such a wealth of knowledge on the DISboards, I know someone can tell me this. I am surprising my DD with the 3 night cruise in March. Will she need her birth certificate or passport for ID? I am familiar with the 7n required documentation, but not the 3n. We have misplaced her birh certificate, so if it is needed, I'd better start planning now to replace it. Thanks so very much.

Yes you need her bcunless she has a passport.What a nice surprise for your dd.

to secure a new birth certificate for DD!

I would do a yahoo or Google search, titled "online replacement of birth certificate for _____"(and enter county and state DD was born in)

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is....Ya gotta love that Internet!!!!

You can sign a declaration at the port that you are a US citizen. However, the port has the right to deny you boarding.
Best option - you can obtain a copy of your birth certificate.
Call disney directly - they will offer you the name of a company that will produce this information for you - but I believe it takes about 4-6 weeks.

Oh wow, Thank You all. I will try the request for a new BC. Yes, the cruise is a surprise for her as well as good ol' dad. The planned part of the trip he knows about was for DD to meet us on the 14th when''WE'' came back from the cruise for the last 6 days of our vacation. I have changed all of her plans to arrive the day before we leave for the cruise. Once she finds out, I will ask her to keep the secret! I hopefully will have pulled off a double surprise...hers and his! Can't wait.

I had to get a BC for my daughter, there is a county office not too far from where we live. It took 5 minutes in and out of the office. I would call the records dept in the county that you live in and just go there. It was well worth it instead of waiting on the mail.
