Do they count as "rides"? I'm talking about It's Tough to be a Bug and so on. I view them as slightly more as diversions

I wouldn’t refer to them as rides. They’re attractions. My favorite is Philharmagic.

Yes, the proper term for them is "Attractions" - shows and rides. No one type is inherently better than the other.

Just to be clear, I'm not putting them down - some are dull and some are really great

A new 4Dk theater opened up by us that the seats move like a Disney ride we are going to see the new Thor movie there next weekend. It should be interesting as my mother in law gets motion sickness but insists she wants to try it.
