when i went to disney world in the 80's....just a small little boy....there was the micheal jackson 3d movie. but i remember watching another one and i forgot what the name was, so i was wondering if you guys could help me out.

the movie looked like it was probably filmed in the 70's perhaps and i remember it had kids and they were out in the country and there were some butterflies in the film too. i know that is kinda vague but it's all i can remember. anyone know what i'm talking about?

I think it was called Magic Journey. I remember it because at one point a witch or something leaps at you and that scared the bajeebers out of me. I have a cassette tape of WDW music from the 80s and that song is on there.

There was a 3D movie with Figment back in the 80s, wasn't there?

Let me try this again...

Captain EO was the Michael Jackson 3D film shown in Epcot (or EPCOT Center, in those days).

"Magic Journeys" was the 3D film shown at MK (in a former theatre that is NOW the location of "Mickey's PhilharMagic".)

"Magic Journeys" was a Kodak-sponsored film and was not really so much ABOUT anything as it was a demo of 3D and the wonders of shooting film to create memories. (Kind of like the pre-shows for HISTA in Epcot.

Yes it was Magic Journey's. I believe it was at the Imagination place where Captain EO was afterwards, then it was moved to where Mickey's Philharmagic is now. After that and before Mickey Philharmagic was the Lion King puppet show. I still hear the music/son to Magic Journey's on some of the Disney web radio stations on live365.com.

No, just one of the BEST-LOVED AudioAnimatronic shows EVER in Epcot, (the original) Journey Into Imagination.

There are "pieces" of the "sets" for that show (and World of Motion) visible in various other attractions and stores around Epcot and MGM.

Duuuuuude!

I haven't thought about Magic Journeys if a long time.

Oh, man! I remember the witch--lightning came out of her fingers. Also, I remember the kids flying kites. And then the part where the Swedish Chef blows up the building--that was COOL!

(Uh...wait a sec...I'm getting some of my 3D movies mixed up.... :earboy2: )

It was Magic Journeys and it was shown at Imagination when Epcot opened in 1982. It was replaced by Captain EO. After leaving Imagination it was shown in MK where the now Philarmagic is shown.

I remember Magic Journeys. I also remember seeing the Chip & Dale cartoon w/Donald that came on beforehand - it was called "Working For Peanuts" I think.

Oh wow, I was JUST thinking about this the other night, and trying to convince my boyfriend that it existed at one point... haha

Anyone remember what it was about? (the MJ movie)

No, all I can remember is holding my 2 year old in my lap (who of course wanted the glasses on) and him completely flipping out when a rock looked like it was going to hit us in the face. He turned himself around and put his head on my shoulder and fell completely and instantly asleep! This was also the trip when he ran screaming in terror away from Mickey and through himself facedown on the ground next to Tomorrowland Terrace.

It was a movie about Imagination (at that time, Journey into Imagination with Figment and the movie both went together to explain about how imagination worked).
So, I guess you could sat the plot of it was a Magical Journey into the imagination of a child who was daydreaming. As I remember it, the format was like when you are thinking of one thing, which reminds you of another, which makes you think of something else related. There wasn't really a story, more a series of episodes that flowed from each other (the way your mind works when you daydream).

MJ was an amazing movie and that song would stay in my head for days! (It was a good thing)!
