ROADTRIP!

We had a great time!! Up at 6am on Thursday Feb 16th. I got a coffee and headed to Winnipeg to grab Gina. Then we were off. A quick stop in Fargo at Wendys for lunch and then we headed to Minneapolis. We got to St Paul and checked into our hotel which was RIGHT across the street from the Xcel Center.

I changed into my jersey while Gina freshened up. I grabbed our face stickers and put them on us. We ran across the street and got to our AWESOME row 2 seats!! We were only 6 seats over from the Jets bench! I had to contain myself from going up there and making googly eyes at Pavelec! (our AMAZING goalie!)

And there were A LOT of Jets fans there!

We saw so many JETS license plates and Manitoba plates on the way there! I should post a picture of my Jeep later! It's Jet Blue (coincidence) with Jets Plates, Jets bumper sticker, Jets window stickers, Jets fuzzy dice (lol) and Jets window flag. My window flag looks pretty abused...but that's what happens when going 75 mph!

I can't believe how BIG the beers are in the US. lol I guess you gotta drink more since your beer is such a low alcohol content! I decided to try one! This cup was HUGE and the BEER! Wow. Anyways, I don't think it looks THAT big in my picture but it was!

Our boys! Hainsey came over to the glass where me and Gina were and tapped the glass with his stick and smiled at us! (We were SURROUNDED by Wild fans!)

WE WON the game in a shootout! The Wild fan beside me was like "Oh we ****ing lost" as soon as he saw it would go to a shoot out. lol I tried not to laugh too loud! But he was actually a pretty cool guy. We talked to him a bit during the game. This guy behind us as we chanted "GO JETS GO" he would end it with "HOME". It was funny. We told him "WHEN WE WIN THE GAME IS OVER WE WILL GO HOME!"

OOOOOOH IS anyone going to see the movie "GOON"?????

They filmed it in Canada! I live in a small city (around 15000 people) and they filmed for a few WEEKS in our brand new arena before moving to Winnipeg to shoot in what is now the Winnipeg JETS arena!

Look for the EXIT sign (north of Sean and Leiv) and then to the right. I am wearing ORANGE gloves, my friend Shannon is beside me in an orange scarf and our friend is beside her with his white hair and beard and camo jacket!

This is a promotional still for the movie from the GOON's official facebook page! I was only an extra for the one night. I ended up for 23 hours because all the shooting was done from 11pm until 11am!! OMG I was so tired I was seeing things! But it was fun. I'm going to see the movie Sunday night! It starts tomorrow!

The road trip looks awesome and it sure sounds like you had a BLAST!!! Love the description of your car ... no doubt about your fanaticism of the "Jets" ... I wasn't familiar with the "GOON" movie till you mentioned it here, how cool to be on-set as an extra, even if it was a tiring ordeal!!

Had to laugh at the "beer" ... yep, no doubt we like our big plastic cups ... alas, I'm sure the price for that nearly club-soda-ish brew was outlandish

This off-season I picked the Rangers as my dark-horse for the cup.
I don't think you can call them a dark horse anymore! haha (I'm a genius )

I really don't see anyone beating the Rangers in a 7 game series unless Crosby comes back entirely healthy

I'm wary of the Penguins. The Rangers seem to have trouble with them with or without Crosby. I am not a Crosby fan. I think he's a big baby. My favorite saying about him is 'You can't spell Crosby withouth C-R-Y.' Funnily enough that came from the Flyers fans!


Glad you had a great time Heather! LOL about the beers over here being huge. I don't think that at all considering what they charge for them! I'm curious what they go for in Minnesota's arena. At Madison Square Garden, they're $9.50 a beer!

I will get a picture of it once I clean it. It's very dirty from the road trip! And not quite warm enough to wash it without standing there and drying it off!

I'm pretty sure it cost me $12!!!!! Ahhhhh! It was Bud Light Lime. Yummy. And that's surprising cause I never liked beer before but all other alcohol now seems to give me heartburn!

Yup I totally got the Jets plates! And I got the WJ not just J and #'s. I went the DAY they got the plates and bought mine.

Nope no Jets Mastercard. I don't think I make enough to get one. I think it said like min $32000 or $36000 and I don't quite make that much. Unfortunately. I would LOVE to have one!

We only traded one player my DW favorite player, Johnny Oduya to the Chicago Blackhawks for two draft picks. The club also picked up blue-liner Grant Clitsome off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

I didn't hear did the Avs make any trades.

Yeah I never followed this before. Didn't really seem very exciting. My 8 yr old Braden was upset about the Oduya trade. He liked him!

7 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG I can't believe time is going by so fast (but at the same time so slow!)

We're down to 213 days until our first Disney trip!!!!

Tonight is Disney Movie night....gotta figure out what to watch!

You guys got great return for Oduya. And waiver pick ups are always great. Nothing to lose.

We traded Winnik, Galiardi and a conditional 7th to San Jose for Jamie McGinn, and two prospects (Sgarbossa [2nd in the OHL in points] and Connelly [NCAA kid, Hobey Baker finalist])
I like it. I didn't want us to do too much. I get too attached to the players haha

It was awful! I woke up at 7am on my day off and ran over to my FIL's house because he has NHL network and I don't (can you believe that NHLN doesn't come with CenterIce? I pay so much for that and all the best games of the weekend get played on NHLN. I got CenterIce to WATCH those games! Ugh)

There were half the trades there was last year and I thought last year was dull! Probably because there's only 4 or 5 teams out of the playoffs for sure right now. Not enough sellers.

Holy moly! I haven't been on here in forever!!! I can't believe time is going by so fast!!! I'm ready for the October park hours to be posted; it should be soon!!

I hope all is well with you!! It sounds like you had an amazing trip! Since time is going by so fast, and our trip is getting closer, maybe I'll actually sign on to this more often!! haha I've been having withdrawls lol!
