You can probably get away with a compact car. You'll have to put most of the luggage in the back seat and floor with the 5 year old.

You could probably get away with a compact but the difference in price between a compact and intermediate may only be a few dollars total. I would rent an Intermediate from National. If you rent an Intermediate from National you may get a free upgrade to something even bigger because of the Emerald Aisle program. We were at MCO this past weekend and there were several full size and a few small SUV's on the aisle. An intermediate may be difficult with a full size stroller. National uses the Chevy Cavalier as a guide for what a compact car is. If you know someone who owns one you may want to check out the trunk. I think also the compacts don't have power windows and locks which can be a real aggravation if you are used to these features on your car back home.

If it is only the 3 of you, a compact should be ok. DW and I just returned last night w/DS5 and DS2.5 and we had a "mid-size" car. We chose the Mitsubishi Galant over the Toyota Corolla available simply because I had never driven a Galant. We did had to put some of the luggage in the seat between the DS's, but that's okay.... ya can't hit and jab what ya can't see.:teeth:
