I was only 7 months old

I remember it so well. I was in the hospital with my son who was only a few months old at the time. He was in for bronchiolitis. When I saw it explode - I could not believe my eyes and thought, "did the shuttle just explode in front of our eyes" - so sad

Our youngest son was in 2nd grade and it was his day for his teacher, Mrs Tickle, Pennsbury School system, Bucks County PA, to take him and one other boy out to Friendly’s for ice cream. She was a wonderful teacher, and did what she could that day to help her students deal with the tragedy. They did go to Friendly’s.

Both if our sons went to Space Camp, and the oldest also to Space Academy, but they weren’t interested in careers in Space.

Thank you for bringing up this memory of these courageous heroes. What a sad day that was.
