35th bday: worth the $ to act like a big kid?

My DH and I are going to WDW (for my first time) to celebrate my 35th birthday! My initial desire was to forget my age, act like a big kid and be treated like a 5 yr old princess, but without the temper tantrums. So I'm thinking about doing the Cinderella Royal Table character breakfast on the morning of my actual birthday while there. But is that expense really worth it for an adult? Since we don't have kids then there won't be any at our table, so will we just be ignored and end up paying an exhorbitant price for a buffet breakfast? Or would our money be better spent on acting my own age - like, a massage or some other special meal, etc.?

Book the meal! No matter if you have a child with you or not, the characters will always interact with you. I typically am in Disney without children and I have wonderful pictures from my interactions with the characters!

My sister, brother-in-law and I recently took my parents to The Crystal Palace for their first time ever and my parents were given such love and attention by the characters it was great! Piglet kept coming to the table when my mom would be at the buffet so Piglet came back twice before my mom was able to get her picture. All guests are treated the same, whether a big kid or a small kid.

Happy 35th! I turn 35 this year as well, in Oct.

Happy Birthday! And I wish you lots of fun on your first trip. I'm soooo excited for you. You will have an amazing time at Cinderella's Royal Table. The Princesses will treat you like royalty, no matter your age. In fact, all characters do. My DH and I do character meals all the time - we have no kids - and the characters are great interacting with us. And it's fun to watch them with the little ones too. I hope you have a MAGICAL time on your trip.

Agreed!!! When it comes to a Disney vacation experience, everyone is created equal. After all, there are no adults in Disney World.

Agree with the PPs. I took my 22 yr old daughter a couple of years ago. It almost seemed that they interacted with us more than the tables with families. Maybe it was more enjoyable for them?

Do it! Be sure to save room for some parks only jewelry. They have some fun baubbles! Also, go to guest services on your first day and you can get two different pins: one that says it is your first visit and one that says its your birthday! The fellow guests and cast members love to interact and you will see tons of adults there in full Disney regalia.

YES! Definitely get your pins! When you wear your birthday pin, you might just get free desserts when you eat at a sit-down (table service) meal. It's the best part!!!!

I am going to Disney solo for my 51st birthday in October. This will be the fourth year in a row I have gone. For me, it really isn't my birthday unless I have breakfast with Donald Duck at Cape May Cafe and lunch at Le Cellier. If you see me, I'll be the one in a "It's My Birthday" t-shirt and a blinking Disney Princess tiara.

omg yes you must go! i love character meals! as an adult sometimes the characters hang around you longer because you are more fun. the stepsisters rock by the way. if they are there definitely point out that your "prince" took you there for your birthday..... you can also be cheeky and ask them things like where does your prince take you, do you ever go to balls, etc. they are my favorite face characters in all the parks.

in place of mouse ears i also rock a tiara sometimes (yes with my hair in a bun like a 5 year old). i look a bit younger than i am and CM get a kick out of it. have an awesome time on your first trip and feel free to bring out your inner child.
