35% off or Free Dining

I received an email pin yesterday for "up to 35% off" rooms or a "free dining plan."

The discount on the rooms is for 1/2–3/24/13, 4/21–5/22/13 and
8/11–9/28/13.

The free dining plan is "most nights" 1/2–3/7/13.

We were originally planning a trip for 10/13, but are now reconsidering.

Is it likely that we might receive another pin, or are they totally random?

This is the first pin I've ever received, and until this email, I did not even know that they existed.

First congrats on the PIN. Pins are random and no one knows how Disney figures out who gets one and who doesnt.

As for free dining vs. room discount, it all depends on your family and where you are staying. You should go to disney sites and play around with the numbers. For me I am currently booked under the bounceback free dining but would love the 35% discount.

As long as your outside 45 days of the trip you would be able to change your dates if something public comes out.

Congrats on the pin! Like a pp said, pins are so random...no telling if you'd get another. I've been lucky to get a pin the last 3-4 years in a row but I only received one each year, well, with the exception of this year, we received two more pins right after we got back from our August trip but the code was only good for the remainder of this year. I'm hoping we get lucky and get one for next August - I'd LOVE to get the RO you just got!

I just received this pin a few days ago and was wondering if these deals often go public? We have friends going during those dates and I wondered if it was worth mentioning to them?
I really wish there was someway to give them our pin as we can't use it.

Just recieved the same 2 pins in an email, but am not going until beginning of Oct '13, and this is the only time we can go.....aaaaaggggghhhh!!! hope I am lucky enough to recieve another pin code in the future....

Free dining for 2013 is listed in the Special Offers section on the WDW website. You don't need a PIN. I just added it to my existing reservation. The first time I called the CM told me the offer was only for Florida residents. I went back to the website to double check and there was no mention of that restriction. So I called back and talked to a different CM and had no problem adding free dining. Just a warning, in case you get a CM who tells you something that doesn't sound right - call back and ask again.

At the top of the page it says Jan 2 - March 7, but the dates listed below that only go up to Feb 13, so that's confusing. But March 7 is the same end date as OP's PIN. It's the room discount that has more dates offered.

That's correct

Free dining has NOT been publicly announced for 2013. It has only been given through pins. The offer linked above allows adults to pay children prices on dining.

As an FYI - this is NOT for free dining - it is for the Play/Stay and Dine offer - which turns out to be a little less of a discount than free dining would be (at least in our case).

This package was around $12 less than our original package that did not include any dining. So in our case the dining was free and the total cost was less.

True! By the way, I compared it to the room-only discount (with Dining Plan added) and found the room-only one was a better deal (AKL from 2/26/13-3/05/13) by about $300 (with Park Hopper and Water Park add-ons).

I just got the offer also...

now that all 3 of my kids are >10 dining would be a good deal....if you could still do the 1 day ticket with it...and get YES tix also...

anyone know when YES tickets start in January?
