I leave some of my projects around this time so I'm distracted, otherwise the wait is excruciating.

House - Shampoo rugs, install wood flooring in kitchen (will hire someone for this), replace showerhead and handle. Clean everything to perfection.
Car - Tidy up, final cleaning to be done day before leaving with car wash and interior clean.

Trip Planning - Not as crazy as I used to be, I actually made lists before of everything to bring down to the smallest item:

- Bought 3 more SDHC cards for the camcorder*, now have 3 hours of high def recording time available.
- Bought a backup compact flash for the camera.
- New portable hard drive, backed up all family movies and pictures.
- Two new goggles for the pool, these don't fog and are incredibly clear.
- New bathing suit for the DD.
- Need to think of some car games (13 1/2 hours drive).
- Start going to bed earlier every day, on departure day we must get up at 2:45 a.m.

Otherwise ready to go, having done so many trips before we have all the stuff we need/want.

* I used this camcorder last year for the first time. The quality was absolutely breathtaking and way better than the semi-professional one I had before at 3 times the cost. It makes me want to go back and reshoot every vacation.
