325 minutes posted for Frozen???

People have been waiting in line for them at Epcot for that long, or longer, since the movie came out.

I think it's established that the MK venue moves through more guests than Epcot did, and the waits are only getting slightly shorter (the week after Easter is a big attendance week, Epcot may have been up to 7 hours by now), so they are likely attracting more people. And then there is the Fastpass availability which you didn't get in Norway. FPs go first. (That'll help those who have FPs but it won't make the standby lines any shorter)

The difference that makes the MK wait that much more unbearable than the wait at Epcot is the fact that everyone in your group has to wait the whole time at MK. At Epcot, CMs encouraged groups to only have one person in line at a time because the queue areas couldn't hold everyone. But there's no easy in and out of the PFH line, so everyone is gonna have to wait the whole time there.

wow crazy so glad we have 2 fp hopefully none disappear! It is emh so it was going to be bad seems like everyone is in line there. But how can anyone wait 5 hours? No bathroom breaks etc.

Amazing. ...and extra amazing that people are willing to wait that long!

While we LOVED Frozen, we wouldn't wait that long. I would guess 60 minutes max.

I wonder how long it will take before these stand-by times come to within reason.

I was just in DLR for spring break in March. While waiting in line for PFF, I noticed that the mom in front of me was flipping through pics for the A&E M&G on her phone. I asked if the wait was really 2 hours. She said they'd waited 4! She said they just swapped out places in line, with different parents and kids waiting at different points. She thought it was no bid deal at all. I was moderately horrified and the look on my DDs face was priceless. She hates waiting more than 20 minutes for anything and would never get in a four-hour line.

The line at DLR was something in between Norway and PFH. It was more of a roped line than at Norway, but not an inside building the way it is at PFH. I am definitely curious to hear how CMs are working the getting in and out of line issue.

The other thing to keep in mind is that the line isn't necessarily so very long, as the capacity is so small and much of it is going to FP. This is made up math, but just for illustration. I think I've seen estimates that one set of A&Es can get through 30 groups per hour (2 minutes per group). If 80% of the capacity is going to FP, that means only 6 SB groups per A&E. So, only 12 SB groups per hour, with maybe an average of 4 people per group. So, you're talking 50ish people per hour for stand-by. So, the 5 hour line may only have 250 people in it.

I would regroup and get there early enough the next day (or next day we can get back go the MK) only be at the front of the rope drop crowd. I'd wear my running ...... I mean "walking with purpose"........ shoes. Then I'd run. ;)

Thankfully we typically do more than 1 MK day on our trips. And we always plan the harder to do things on our first day.

I would do this.

If FP+ has priority over every person waiting in standby, then this makes perfect sense.

I think the question here is....Is this a FP+ only attraction at this point? With a 325 minute wait time, I think the answer is yes.

My personal opinion, I think Disney is ridiculous letting a line get that long and putting up a wait time like that. Let's just call it a FP+ only attraction and be done with it.

Another option would be to give a certain number of people (knowing how many FP+ reservations you have each hour) return times written on a piece of paper. And then when they run out, they run out. It's sick to let people stand in a line that long.

disney isnt forcing anyone to stand in that line..only sick part is that there are people willing to wait that long to meet them.

I'm pretty sure Disney got this figured out perfectly. By the time most of these kids finally get to see A&E, Disney will have a new princess movie out and then they can get into the next 10 hour queue.

But if they have essentially doubled capacity when they moved from Epcot to MK, if the lines are staying the same length with the addition of FP+ doesn't that mean that double the amount of people are seeing them? That's a win, IMO. There's only so much they can do to deal with the craziness that surrounds the girls without permanently doing something about it and then having way too much later when the popularity calms a bit.

I think Disney is probably happier telling people that yes they can meet them if they wait in the 300 minute line vs sorry all our FP have been given out for the day (cue parents throwing tantrums and front of the line CMs having to deal with it).

Don't expect you'll ever get this info from Disney, but it sure seems like the vast majority of capacity is being given to FP holders. So for those asking for photos of the crowd, it could actually be quite underwhelming. It's just that so very few standbys get to see the sisters each hour, it could very quickly build to the 4-hour-plus point. (Just speculating, I have no idea if this is on-target or not...)

Yep! this shows how evil FP+ is. And how many folks still don't get it. Plus, this attraction is selling out months in advance. Want to see MK in a few years? THIs is it. Those in the know will get their FPs 60 days in advance, and the rest will be in insane lines. I expect a similar one for the dwarf kiddie coaster.

I'm really not sure if I would wait that long to get a pic with Walt.

What I don't understand is why Disney doesn't set up multiple places to meet the princesses? Lots of characters meet in multiple parks. Given the INSANE popularity of A&E right now, wouldn't it make sense to have a couple different opportunities to meet them?

For example - they could have easily left the M&G open in Norway AND had them meet at MK. And they could probably set up a temporary M&G area in HS at the animation building (replacing the incredibles or ralph & vanelope). We're not talking about huge $$$ here - just the payroll of the characters and additional staffing. And maybe a little to add a backdrop in HS. But wouldn't that EASILY be made up by more spending from people who would be out and about instead of standing in a 5 hour line????

What am I missing here?

Evil?

The wait for A&E was just as long, if not longer, BEFORE FP+ was being used for them.

Yes! If my kid wanted to meet A&E that badly I would tell them they had to get up early and hit rope drop. No other options. I wouldn't waste 3-4 hours waiting for anything at Disney.

I just checked the touring plans app and it said the posted wait time for Anna and Elsa is 325 minutes. The expected time is 268!

Would you ever step into a line if you were told that the expected wait was 5 1/2 hours?

We don't even spend 5 hours in the parks all day! Our limit is about 3, maybe 4.5 hours with lunch. Then done - resort, pool, dinner, movie at resort, bed.

I feel for the parents who really want this M&G for their children.

Norway wasn't cutting it. The meet and greet was taking over the pavilion. It was a temporary solution. They definitely should have them at multiple parks, but they need to find the right place for them too.

I agree, I think it's rather nuts to stand in a line for that long for a M&G. But I think that Disney could do a better job with this too.

That could be. I wonder if they cut the line off at some point near closing?

I think you're right. Apparently, FP+ gets priority over standby now, they are not working in ratios like they used to. In this case, I imagine they are working in some standby people per hour, but it doesn't mean the lines are actually long.

This is all moving towards a 100% ride reservation system. Wait until the mythical 4th FP gets going...
