C.Ann, I don't know how this condition affects most people but I can tell you that my grandfather had times that he knew who we were and days that he did not. As his condition deteriorated his good days became fewer and farther apart. He also became a very angry and somewhat violent individual. When he was healthy he was always eccentric and quick to say what he thought but not angry. That only came after alzheimers had a firm grip on him. I am very sorry about your mother.
