30th birthday. Staying at the Contemporary. This isn't going to end well.

I'm a big supporter of Jiko inside the AKL. It's not cheap, and there is a filet on the menu that was absolutely wonderful when I ate there earlier this month.

I'm willing to try out the Yachtsman Steakhouse again, I think, maybe... but it would suck if I have problems with them again, especially on my birthday.

This sounds like a Ricardo situation! I know someone out here can get you his email addy!

Prime Rib - Who has it? (Not buffet, table service.)

OK, I guess I'm going to try the Yachtsman again.

I know it's a ways away, but is anyone interested in having dinner with us at Yachtsman on my birthday? (The 26th of April.) I'm turning 30. Just wondering.

Ricardo is a wonderful person who is also a server at YSH. He is actually requested as a server. If you are lucky enough to have him, you too will become a Ricardo Fan. ::yes::

Ahh to be turning 30 and celebrating in WDW....Seems like so long ago when I turned 30 (hehe last year). I did celebrate my 28th at WDW though. We ate at Bistro D' Paris and it was wonderful thing. My advice, have a few extra drinks that night and keep very busy the following day. It really helps ward off that overwhelming "OMG I'M OLD" depression that would surely ensue otherwise. :lmao:

No. *sigh* He's married to a very lovely woman. ::yes:: You'll wish he were though. One handsome cutie is Ricardo! ::yes::

Is Ricardo "family"?

He is married to the most wonderfull woman in the world! They are both fantastic people! In fact his wife was my boss for a while!

But they are both VERY family friendly! :thumbsup2

Finally succeeded in getting all my ADRs. Got everything I wanted except (surprisingly) Liberty Tree Tavern on the 23rd. If anyone is interested in getting together for any of these meals, let me know... Yes, it's a ways away, but it's something to think about. :)

I got my annual pass exchange card in the mail the other day, and have been having a horrible week both at work and at home since. I've been working extremely weird hours at work, and we've been full with people that seem to think we're a 5 star hotel even though we're only a holiday inn express, so, no, we can't have a valet park your car, and no, we don't have a bellhop.

At home, I recently adopted my boss' cat because her boyfriend is coming home from overseas soon and is moving in with her, and her cat doesn't get along with people... at all. Therefore, Izzy (the cat) has been sitting 2 feet away from me all night hissing at my face and it's EXTREMELY hard for me to sleep.

All of the above has me very tempted to take a 4 day weekend and fly down. However, thus far I have been good and haven't booked anything. Yet. It probably helps that for whatever reason, my exchange card # isn't letting me into the passholder website even though it says I should be able to get in with it. If I could get in, and get a passholder deal on a room, I'd probably already have the forms filled out to get the time off.

It doesn't look like anyone's going to be coming with me (other than my mom) so we're probably going to share the room at the Contemporary and cancel the room for her at POP.

I also switched rental car companies to Thrifty cuz I found a good deal. We're still getting a car because she still wants to be able to go off property even though I don't think it's necessary.

So... unless someone volunteers to stay with me in my themepark view room at Contemporary, I'm gonna end up having to share a room with my mom :(. All our adrs are also for 3 ppl since I thought my ex was coming with but it's looking less and less like he is coming so if anyone's gonna be there solo, you're more than welcome to join us for any meals.

How did I miss this thread?? :rotfl:

I was going to jump in and suggest the Wilderness Lodge, and then I noticed you already were booked!

Just under 70 days 'til my birthday, and still with the ADR tweaking. Cxld the 'Ohana ADR for dinner on 4/27, and added something else but I can't remember what now. Thinking about cxling the yachtsman steakhouse res on my birthday and going with somewhere else (inside the park, maybe? - Yes, I realize there's nothing really special inside the park, other than CRT, and I'm not going there for my birthday even if they did have reservations available) instead and then trying to do the wishes dessert party (if they start doing it again before then) instead of dessert at Cali Grill.

Switched my car rental res back to Alamo too since I discovered costco members get a REALLY good deal with them.

Bah. And now, on top of that, I decided to start really thinking about my December trip too. I need some sort of vacation planning intervention.

Glad you switched back in terms of your rental car, Dollar and Thrifty are horrible, I avoid renting from them because the quality of their cars and customer service is horrible. The few times I've been stuck with them (someone else booked or everyone else sold out) it has been less then ideal.

Sounds like it all oughta end well to me. :goodvibes The Contemporary is very cool (kinda reminds me of underground Montreal -- I'm thinking because it's got that whole late 60's early 70's thing going on) and your ADRs sound good too.

Have fun! :thumbsup2

Good to know. We were reserved with Thrifty. The costco rate for Alamo was $20 less than our thrifty rate, plus we get a free additional driver w/ Alamo.

Ricardo is my favorite! We would never agree to another server at Yachtsman.
Yes, I do have his e-mail. ;)
He writes us in his little book so he will know when we are coming back. And when we get to our table he always has a little note there, just for us. BEST SERVER EVER!!!! :thumbsup2

We did the Wishes dessert thing in August and we were sort of "eh" on the experience. None of the desserts were all that great.
