..........................................

We buy for the inlaws and nieces and nephews.

DH & I don't exchange gifts...we go to WDW instead:D

Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't. It depends on how much work we have done on our house or if we need something big. Although this year, we did both. Alot of work on the house and still bought gifts. But it was gifts we need for the house or fifth wheel. So, we would of bought them anyway. Sooner or later. I always make sure the kids get to go out and get dad something. That's the important thing.;)

All very nice answers here.. Glad to hear it's not because some folks hate Christmas and everything that goes with it..

Some years we do, some we don't. Some years we make a purchase like a computer etc. and call it our gift to each other. If we exchange gifts it's usually with a price limit (like $20) or something very practical that we need. This year dh is buying me a new shower head and wrapping it up - basically so the kids can see us exchanging gifts.

I also have friends that think this is weird, but we both prefer it that way. Since we share finances, an expensive surprise isn't really possible. I'm not big on gift giving in general though - people have different ways of sharing love and for me this isn't one of them. I'd rather have the gift of "time" anyday! DH and the boys sat through a concert last night with me and that is the best gift they could have given me!

We don't buy for each other either. This year we went all out with a DVC purchase and a new car so that's it for the next 40 years! :D

Our extended family used to exchange gifts with everyone, but it started to get a bit ridiculous....no one knew what to buy so everyone started trading gift certificates.

So last year we started drawing names and setting a spending limit and this is working out well.

I do buy for my 22 yo DD and 25 yo DS. Daughter is building a house and wants a sewing machine so she can make curtains and comforters, etc. Son is broke and needs snow tires, so that's what he's getting!

We are also buying Christmas for a disadvantaged family via the Salvation Army. That's fun and makes us feel less scroogey.

We don't buy anything big for each other. I usually buy something small for the DH and some of his favorite candy to put in his stocking and he will do the same for me. This year we bought a DVD/VHS combo and that is our gift to each other. :-)

We do sometimes, and sometimes not..

This year.. .well we are buying a house four days before Christmas....

so the house is my present!

On our Anniversary we take a trip to TN...that is our gift to each other.
For Christmas we usually buy something that we have been putting on hold...this year it was a digital camera and DVD/VHS player. DH and I also buy something small for each other. We don't buy each other gifts throughout the year, I have us on a tight budget;) and only tend to splurge at Christmas.
I do buy DH a small gift for his birthday and he also buys me a small gift for mine.

I enjoy getting something for DH that I know he will enjoy. I am not the type to buy myself anything so it is nice to receive something from DH.

Who needs gifts.
When you have.
Life
Health
A place you call Home
Friends
And most of all your Family.

Last year we swore we were not exchanging gifts. I stuck to our oath, he didn't! I opened several nice gifts he had carefully picked out. I felt so bad....

This year we swore again and (as far as I know) he is sticking to the oath but I am not! :)

I bought him a bike and a leather jacket.

Maybe we'll just keep doing it this way, every other year...lol

We do one of a few different things. Sometimes we just fill stockings for each other. If we have a trip planned, that serves as our gift to each other. Or we buy something that we both want. This year we bought ourselves a DVD player.

I don't see the point of going all out with gifts for each other, considering that the money comes from the same pot. :)

We usually do, but this year we decided not to. We decided to buy something big with our income tax $$ that is for all of us, so decided to skip gifts for each other for Christmas. We'd rather get everyone else something.

Next year we aren't exchanging either, cuz going to WDW is our Christmas gift. :)
