$300 to spend. Family of 5. What "extra" would you do?

I’d probably keep it in my “back pocket” and see how vacation is going. We were there last week and I made a habit of checking ADR’s at night for the next day to see what opened up and I was surprised to see a decent amount of availability.

Might be nice to do some $ILL as well if they end up having a favorite or you miss something.

The after hours at the water park might be fun too if the kids are older and interested in a waterpark. Wouldn’t have to give up a park day.

Have fun with whatever you decide!

And we too order waters (not because of cost, we just aren’t soda drinkers) and do a lot of meal sharing or apps. It is too hot to eat a full meal and run around the park!

How did this discussion turn into questioning the cost of my family’s meals? Are you seriously suggesting that our children are too scared to ask for more food at meals? I posted the exact amounts for each of our meals. These are typically lunch where we are not trying to gorge ourselves. Each family unit is different, but our older two are girls and the youngest is a boy. He’s not eating like a garbage disposal, yet. I love how words are twisted. I never said we forgo drinks. I said we typically have two to three sodas a meal for those that want them. Keep in mind prices have increased since last summer . We are not ravenous eaters. I can guarantee you that none of us has walked away from any of our table service meals feeling like we did not eat enough, or not fully satisfied. I don’t typically bring anything like this up but my middle daughter is a top 10 high school sprinter in the state of Michigan. We are not starving our kids lol

I'm actually impressed with your food budget. We are the opposite, my kids eat like animals (teen boys) and steak is their favorite food, lol. I would maybe do a fireworks cruise or just save the money and get the extras as things pop up. Are they into Star Wars? They could build droids. I like saying yes to stuff on vacation so saving it for that could be an option too.

Your family seems to eat a reasonable and healthy amount of food ,Unfortunately it has become normalized in this country to eat like pigs. One Cobb salad is huge and should be MORE than enough food for any teen or adult

Water park day
Cirque du Soleil
Fireworks cruise
Are you going to Food and Wine? Maybe give everyone a $50 or $60 Disney gift card and let them snack on whatever they want, use the remaining for special souvenir?

I know what you mean about the food. It's hot, we tire easily, don't want to be "Thanksgiving-full" on park days. DD and I often split meals. It was great when we were on a dining plan: We'd share 1 QS for breakfast, 1QS for lunch, and each have our own TS for dinner. Even that got to be a lot of food, with snacks. Now that I've had bariatric surgery, I'm sure we'd have leftovers even if we split dinners at every meal!

I used to love bringing extra snacks home with me with the leftover. I used to stock up on that goofy snack mix! Yum

As a parent (granted just of one) I'd just save it up to get them all the little things they ask for, to have it be one time you know you can say 'yes' to everything!

On one of our Poly stays, we did an early morning fishing trip. I was skeptical that I would enjoy it, since I'm not an outdoorsy person, but all of us loved it. We left around 7 am and went all around Seven Seas Lagoon. I was so pretty to watch the sun rise into the sky and watch all of the resorts and MK slowly come to life. We caught (and released) lots of fish and then went to Captain Cook's for breakfast. I would absolutely do this again!
I’ll second this. We aren’t big fishermen(people) but really enjoyed the fishing excursion. When we did it, our kids were about the same ages as yours. We also had our future son in law. The rest of us were catching fish left and right. He didn’t catch anything. I took a picture of him with the minnow that he used for fishing to show what he caught. Ha. The fishing trip was one of our big memories from all of our many trips. We also did the behind the scenes tour at MK and really enjoyed that.
