300 Spots opened up for Disney Half Marathon

Got this email earlier today.......

"Want to make that New Year's healthy resolution early? 300 spots for the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Half Marathon, Sat. Jan. 10 have opened up just for Sports Enthusiasts and their friends and family. The 13.1 mile course begins at Epcot® and winds through Magic Kingdom® Park, before returning to Epcot® . If you are not quite ready for the 13.1 miles this year, a limited number of spots (150) are also available for the Circle of Life 5k through Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park on Fri., Jan. 9. For the most ambitious, sign up for both - just be sure to properly train prior to the run!

They openned up these spots to cast members and their families only about 2 or 3 weeks ago but I guess there weren't enough takers so now its open to everyone. 300 extra runners doesn't seem like alot but I think its going to be one very crowded race.

What are they doing to me??? I had wanted to do both the 5K and Half and then when I finally decided to register for the 5K, it was closed. So, I had resigned myself to the fact of the just doing the Half and was OK with that. Now...this! ugh. I'm torn...

Oh my... I actually went to Disney for last weekend so I couldn't check this thread. I didn't know you all were engaged in twisting my arm. I just checked to see if anyone knew if these spots were still open. I'm still waffling on the fence. I'm not sure if I have money for this, and (probably even more importantly) I'm not sure if I can be away for the weekend.

OK, I need to think about this some more. I was checking the website to see if it was even possible to still register. If it wasn't, I wouldn't bother thinking about it anymore. I really do need to see if it would work into our family plans and budget.

You may want to keep checking on the website to get in for the 5K. I was late getting in, thought I missed out, then tried again after reading a post on Robert's forum. I got in! I'm not sure why.
