For the locals, when the weather is listed as 30% chance of rain, is that a steady all day rain or a quick 10 minute shower? Here in Phoenix, even though rain is predicted, most times, nothing happens. But still need to be prepared that it'll be chilly and rainy this week.

I'm assuming if it's raining, the characters do not come out? What percentage of rides shut down?

Bought all my clothes for this trip based on weather in the 80's & 90's, not 60's & 70's. I was hoping the temps would be lower than Phoenix, but wasn't expecting 60's!

Thanks everyone for the advice...very much appreciate it!

it was hot there last week but fri morning when we left it looked like rain. I do have to say it wasnt to bad on thursday and wed evening tue it was hot but got cool a few hours after 3pm. I hope it works out for you we had a fab time just make sure take jacket and umbrella.

Rain would be fine with me too. Seattle girl here, used to it! Definitely won't melt.... and after the 90's and 100's they were having, I'll take 60's and 70's even if it includes some liquid sunshine.

Usually it doesn't rain all day, but last year when we were there in November, I remember a Sunday where it POURED nearly all day! Talk about a crowd stopper!

Dollar stores sell rain ponchos, usually in a 2-pack. At least, all the Dollar Trees in my area do. I would suggest picking up a few packs, just in case. They've been a real lifesaver for us when we were suddenly caught in a downpour. They're also nice to have for people who don't love getting wet on Splash Mountain or GRR. They're flimsy but they do the trick :)

I honestly don't mind rain. It often thins out the crowds. After dealing with the insane heat this summer, I'll take rain over that any day.

I'm not against rain, especially after a hot summer...just prefer not to have it rain during our first vacation in 7 years. But, we won't melt and we'll still have fun. Just so ready to get there on Monday!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

The forecast is actually for 20%-30% chance of scattered showers, drizzle in the nights and morning hours, then a chance of drizzle/light rain in the daytime. This means that some areas won't get any rain at all. Translated into DLR experience, this means that you really shouldn't have any problems with the weather. As recommended by a pp, the dollar store ponchos can be really useful. Also, make sure to bring a second pair of shoes, if you weren't already going to bring some, in case your first pair gets damp/wet and some extra socks.

You can buy rain panchos fairly reasonably in the parks, too. I have those and the dollar store ones. The latter is more like a thin trash bag. The ones sold in the parks have cute theme-ing and snaps and are beefy. They're nice to sit on waiting for F! or WOC, too.

I love rain but, when you costume is a cats the musical type you have to get a little worried about the wig. I will be fully dressed up weather if it rains or not.:crazy2:

PEOPLE!!! hear ye hear ye.....................it will not rain.....and if it does (and thats a BIG if) it will probably be late in the night as in well after park closing into the wee early hours in the morning...dont sweat this!! Trust in mee....Shut your eyes and trust in me...you can sleep safe and sound ...and dont worry...be happy:p( i did a mash up right there lol)

TBH...I would take rain and 60's or 70's over the heat we had when we were there in Sept.

I concur with the ponchos. I stock up at the dollar store. They are thinner, but smaller to pack around 4-6 of them. We used them for a rain shower on our trip 3 years ago. That was :laughing:one good thing about the heat this time.....I did not mind getting wet on Splash or Grizzly! lol!!!!
