Did you know that the minimum for a Wishes Wedding on 10-10-10 is $30,000:scared1:?

I asked my sales consultant a few questions yesterday thinking that I wanted to change to a Wishes Ceremony. She was great and helpful and was able to respond to all of my questions today. She shot a few good ideas my way then we settled on what I wanted. This required me needing a new contract and an increased deposit. She says I am so happy that we worked things out since 10-10-10 is a special day and the minimum expediture is $30,000.

I'm excited for you! I am kind of peeved though that Disney is gouging brides just because they know so many will want to get married on that date.

I know it says it somewhere... maybe I read it in lurkyloos Passporters book; weddings on special days like valentine's, xmas, New Years, and dates like 10-10-10 are going to have a premium added to them or a higher minimum expenditure. But I think it really doesn't matter because you would probably spend that much anyway... certain elements are much more expensive on those days, like the DJ is $2500+ instead of the normal $1000+. All the elements seem to be more expensive in holidays/special dates.

$30k is A LOT though. Wow!

 That's ridiculous! It seems so undisney-like. I bet Walt, himself, would be shaking his head in disappointment.

It's all too easy to "spend" that much! Trust me, I almost had a heart attack when I got the sample budget from Disney.

I can understand the extra amounts on a holiday. For employees to give up their holiday to work I think deserves some extra compensation...I'm not sure how I feel about 10-10-10 though....

I think their reasoning is that it's a day a lot of couples want and are willing to dish out $$$ for. DFTWs is just like any other business who takes advantage of "holidays/special dates". I mean, when is a bouquet of roses worth $100+... only on Valentine's day. When is a DFTW wedding worth $30k... when it's a day like 10-10-10.

Sucks but that's how businesses make money. And while WDW is the happiest place on earth, they're still a business that's struggling with today's economy.
