Can they truly enjoy Disney with small kids these age, we are debating to take them or not?? any help is greatly appreciated :flower:

My son is 22mos and last year he turned one at Magic Kingdom.

We've not taken him yet this year but last year...he absolutely LOVED it! I'm sure he'll enjoy it this year too 'cause everytime he sees a character he loves, whether on TV or on the internet...he gets all excited! :)

I'm of the belief that a child is never too young nor too old to enjoy Disney...you just have to tailor the trip to their likes.

Took DD at 2,3 and 4 so far. She got the most out of it this year at 4. At 2 she enjoyed the escalators the most. At 3 she enjoyed the fountains the most.
How many visits can you afford? How much pleasure will you have while limited by kids?
IF I could only go every 5 years I would take kids on first trip at 5 and then at 10.
Took DS on his first trip when he was 5.

We took our oldest for the first time when he was 2 and it was amazing! I had tears in my eyes when he first set foot on Main Street and started dancing! The best part is that my DH taped a total of 16 hours during our 8 day stay and our DS still loves watching it (he is almost 5) as well as the tapes from the trips since! We are going back and taking our newest addition who will be just shy of 8 months when we go and we couldn't be more excited! There is so much to stimulate them and although he may not remember....our memories of watching his little face will be priceless!

We took our one year old and 4 year old ds's and had a great trip! The key to taking small children is to remember to return to the hotel for a mid-day break! It makes a huge difference! :flower:

My DD first trip was in February at 28 months. She loved it!!! The parades, the fireworks, the characters, the rides, shows (we saw Beauty and the Beast 2 times and had several people remark as they were leaving they had more fun watching her than the show), and 3-D movies. We had a wonderful time!!!

Hi!

Our 1st Family Trip to Disney World was in 2003 - my DS's were 3,5 & 7. The 3 year old loved it as much as his older brothers. Till this day he still remembers certain things we did. We are so looking forward to our next trip this June/July. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

we were there 2 weeks ago withour 23 month old and 4 yr old. The younger one did almost as much as the 4 yr old (no Thunder Mountain, Star Tours or ToT)She loved it, she was so excited to see the characters and the castle, they danced to the bands at Epcot, on Main Street and pleasure Island (outside stage). They enjoyed all the 3 D shows, and the parades were like a rock concert for them judging by the way they were scresming and yelling! We had a plane seat for the younger one too- but other than that she did not need a ticket to the park and was not charged as a meal for character dining. I wish we were there now!

My DS was 3 and1/2the last trip we took to Disney and he still talks about it. His favorite ride was the monorail. I don't know if that is a good thing or bad since we spent all that money for the parks and his favorite ride was free. We are going back for a quick trip in October and he can't wait.

Definetly! My daughter first went when she was 35 months and my youngest was 14 months. They both enjoyed it, especially the almost 3 year old. We as a family had so much fun we are going back in a few weeks! :cool1:

My oldest loves talking about Disney World and I am amazed at how much she really remembers about the trip.

Her younger sister doesn't really remember the last trip I don't think but she certaintly came home loving Mickey and Pooh.

The youngest who is 21 months now is so funny. If we start talking about Disney she tells me "Winnie Pooh Ride me". Its so cute! She saw a picture of it on the website and I told her we would go on it again. So who knows maybe she remembers it. I also get the feeling she may remember riding the bikes there as well.

I am sure both of them will enjoy it even more this time and they are about the same ages as your kids now. Its great especially since at that age they mostly go on all the same rides and there are tons of them to go on.

Hey, when they are still getting in for free - TAKE THEM!

Seriously, my DD loved it this Jan at 21 months. She's a little shy but still had a great time. DS when for the first time at 2.5 and it was so great. He is that kind of kid though - doesn't scare easily, etc. This year he wants to do all the BIG rides (Thunder, Splash, etc).

DD and DS both love the videos we taped as well. We have to transfer them to DVD soon before they wear out. So long as you can afford the trip then go. For all those people who say they won't remember it weren't speaking of my kids. They both remember a ton of it. Will they remember it 10 years from now, not sure, but by then we will go again!

Have fun!!!

Oh yea, take a mid day break (very necessary)! Also, we did not stay out much later than we would at home. Keeping the home schedule saved us from major breakdowns.

Definetly. DEFINETLY. DEFINETLY!

My kids went for the first time at 3 and 7 months. I can honestly say they BOTH had a good time. I didn't find it such a ton of work either. We just went with their flow. As a matter of fact, we're going back in under 48 hours at 4 and 15 months! But then again, I'm not very stressed out traveling with young kids or ever find what they require much trouble.

We took our sons when they were 3 years old and 18 months old. It was a wonderful trip!! They still love looking at the pictures. They were so excited and really expressed the joy they felt. The key for us was taking it SLOW and letting the boys enjoy themselves. I remember one time when my ds wanted to play with his toy on a bench. We stopped for 30 minutes and let him play and then he was ready to go again. I couldn't look at it as "wasted" time on expensive park tickets. No commando touring on that trip.

We went back when they were 3 and 5. I was amazed at how much each of them remembered! At that point my 5 year old was in kindergarten and he really enjoyed learning things at Epcot and Animal Kingdom, so it was a completely different experience for us.

My youngest just turned 5 and he has been talking about WDW this week. They both have happy memories from WDW.

If it's possible, I would visit during the school year.

By the way, our first trip to WDW was one of the first things we did where we were all 4 having fun at the same time!! At home we were either entertaining them or asking them to sit still while we tried to eat or shop. WDW was perfect for us!

We took our DS at 9 months, and again at 21 months.

He LOVED it both times. They have been such amazing trips. DS is still talking about Disney every day (we got home 3 weeks ago!)

DD was 2 1/2 on our first trip. It was all real to her. I had so much fun watching her ~ it was truly magical. Can't wait to take DS this year at age 2.

GO!!! if you can ;)

Take them. There are tips everywhere on these boards on how to deal with it. You'll all enjoy it. And the 3 yo will probably get his first memories of Disney! :sunny:
