DD will be almost 4 when we cruise next year. I would love to hear your experiences with 3 and 4 year olds in the kids clubs!! Any information will be appreciated!!

Thank you!!

Last year, my 3 YO went to the kids club once so DH & I could go to Palo. He hadn't been left w/anyone other than family prior to that, and he hadn't started pre-school yet. He wouldn't go any other time (even when they did a Buzz Lightyear theme event. Buzz is his favorite). We were paged to come get him, but when we got there, he seemed fine. We did pick him up b/c his brother was a monster in Flounders and our night was ruined anyway. I'm hoping that this year will be better. He's been in pre-school for a year, and will have a friend cruising w/us the same age. Best of luck.

My DD was 4 yrs, 3 mo on our 3 night cruise on the Wonder 7/31. When we arrived at the Oceaneer Club to register her, she did not want to leave. She wanted to stay and play. They were not open to take kids until 6 that night.

So we had dinner and took her back at about 8 and went to the show. She had fun, made a hat, and was on a little mat watching Mulan when we picked her up.

Next day she spent most of the day, from about 10 until 5 there. We had spa appointments booked and went to Nassau for a few hours in the afternoon. (It's OK to leave them on the ship and leave). She had fun. She didn't want to go back that night so we took her to see Hercules with us.

The next day was Castaway Cay. We checked her in to the kids program at Scuttles Cove. Got paged about an hour later that she wanted to be picked up. Went to get her at the lunch location, where she was sitting and crying. I think the heat was too much, plus she had spent the whole day before away from us.

Next time I think I will take her there for shorter periods of time. I will check the Navigator and plan things around the fun in the club. We are going on the 7 night in May.

The first cruise was a seven day cruise with her just turning 3 (and being potty trained  ) the week before. She had never been in daycare and only my mother had watched her. I literally had to drag her out. This was in July 2002. Then this past March on our 4 day cruise, she just did not seem to enjoy it as much. I think part of it it was that there were way too many kids in the club. On the 3 day cruise this past July, right after her 4th b-day, she loved it. Most of the same staff from March was on the cruise, and she spent the majority of her time in the club. She didn't want to leave.
